Hello, I’m Francesca, a junk journal enthusiast, and creator. I’m Italian and love creating handmade journals with vintage things mixed with recycled or new modern objects. My background is in Psychology, so I like practicing creativity as a mindful activity. In 1999 at an art show I'd entered, I saw my first "junk journal" (or altered book), enticingly placed in a glass display box, only two open pages showing. Oh how I wanted to see the rest of that book!!! That's when I started making them. I have purchased several junk journals since then from other very talented artists. I love each one. So beautiful. Yes, I page through them all the time.

I too collect journals made by other wonderful creators Francesca, i also just love browsing through each one, admiring them and seeing all the different styles and ideas. I haven't yet completed making a journal yet, i just mainly collect supplies, ephemera and digital kits at the moment as my health has not been too good for the last few years, but i hope to finish one soon, thanks for sharing your lovely collection xox

I have watched this video 6 times in the past 2 days. I am in love with this video! 🥰🤭 These journals are so amazingly beautiful. My favorites are the first one and the last one. I could spend hours, just like you do, just going through, looking at, and touching everything in that last journal. That is how I feel about the steampunk journal YOU made. I have watched that video so many times. Lol I am saving up my money to purchase one of your journals. I can't wait to have my hands on one of your amazing creations. 😊 I am new to the junk journal world so I wouldn't even know where to begin to make something as amazing as these, and your, journals are. I do the same. I look at them as treasures and works of art. I will sit with a cup of coffee and pick one to leaf through. I study the colors, the paper, the beautiful sewing. I think about the person that made it and how wonderful their style is. I think about my journals and how I can improve them. I would buy so many if I could afford them. Each one is a work of art by a special person that made it with love and creativity. I love them all. Thank you for sharing these beautiful journals and your beautiful work. Hugs.❤

Love the tour through the journals. I’m in awe of them all, but the last one especially. Soooooo many elements and objects/items. It must have taken forever to make. As a journal maker I can’t imagine ever letting go of a journal that I had put that much work into!

I don't make junk journals or use them but I buy them too! I love to sit and look through them and admire all the creative ideas of it's creator. I kind of like to think of it as you would if you collected painting or sculptors ....it is just a different art. Thank you for sharing the beautiful ones you have obtained.

Yes, i buy journals from other people. I own 1 of Johnies journals. I love seeing & feeling the work they have in them. I have 5 from 1 9:56 they are all different. No one does the same thing even if they are journals. I had one i was using, had a quilt cover & I knocked over my glass of root beer. The journal was ruined with this spill. I kept it for a while trying to dry it out, but that didn't work. I was very sad about & I did have to throw it out..😢 Thank-you for sharing some of your purchases with us. They are all stunning.

What an excellent video! I used to wonder WHY I would buy a handmade journal. Then I won a journal. And won another. They are precious to me. So I bought one from a favorite maker. They are all precious. I think it’s really good for a RUclipsr to cross-pollinate the community like you have done. I wish more tubers would talk about the channels they watch and love. Thank you for showing us those precious journals.

@@JunkJournalJoy Yes, insight is the right word. There’s a little group of people I came across on YT. They supported others, they showed things they received more than they showed their own work. It was unusual and refreshing. I try to recommend good channels when I can, tho it’s something most people don’t do. There was a lady who featured a channel she liked once a week. It’s a kindness.

Hi, these are very very beautiful journals! You must be a proud owner and enjoy them in your possession. I'm the same, bought several beautiful journals from creators and I buy them with every intention of using them until they arrive at my place, then I'm like, auw.. wow, I can't use them, that would be ... almost like destroying the beauty and effort that was put in creating them.. I don't think I can make them prettier than they already are.. although they are mine now and I can do whatever I want with them but... mmmh, 😁😊🥰... so then I'm like.. I'll just keep them safe to enjoy their beauty and having them in my possession and flipping through them from time to time for inspiration and joy and fun and.. you know what I mean 😂 I do use one or two to write in and doodle and paint and create lovely pages but they started as a blank canvas with a lovely and beautiful cover, I can make them mine on the inside of the journal, there is a difference 🤣
