I like how you all chill between rounds, like the serious approach that you take overall. From someome who also likes to do blinds, I know how important it is to do them carefully! Great content!
Nice job! The only one I have is the Bakers 7 and I really like it! Mine is just over 7yrs however today I grabbed one that’s almost 9 years and I’m looking forward to comparing them!
I have watched a couple of videos now, and I'm hooked. I'm a foodie by default and Culinary trained. I'm always looking for honest opinions on spirits. Bourbons, Whiskeys, Ryes, and so on. Living in NC, we have to go through imaginative ways to certain ones in our hands. So, it is nice to have a vlog like yours. It introduces some ones that will probably not see the light of day in the Tar Heel state. Thanks a M! Sarah (?), I agree with Chad on comparing reference in regards to Steaks and Steakhouses.
Guys, great blind flight! Yes, please do a SBS with an old and new bottle of Ky XO. I had a 2018 bottle and your description does not match my recollection of that bottle. Mine had a very strong musty oak note on the nose. Not altogether unpleasant but I could see how some might find it off putting. Palate was rich caramel and oak. My understanding is that the older bottles had an age statement but the 2018 was NAS. Cheers!
Ive had all of these except the XO which is the most attainable. Total wine has Bakers 7 everytime I go so these are obtainable just have to know when and where or trade online etc... It's a game!! But thanks for the video and if love to see the difference between new and old because I'm interested in trying the XO now! Thanks
I’ve been watching the channel for a long while now. You two are my favorites as far as bourbon reviews go. As a matter fact I like to sit around and relax and just enjoy new episodes when I get free time. I do remember Sara’s review of the XO and have always been a little sad cause it doesn’t seem to get any love from the two of you LOL (XO is one of my favorites). As I watched this I smiled and said to myself ‘finally!!’ Anyway, thank you again for another great video. Cheers 🥃
Would love to see Pure KY new vs 2014. Picked up a bottle a year ago at the distillery for $30 with modest expectations and was very impressed-held its own against much more expensive bourbons.
I’d Love to see y’all do an actual blind taste test. I Love yalls channel and I have y’all playing in the back ground on the tv all day. But I feel y’all play off each other. I would almost guarantee y’all would be way different if an outside source did yalls blind tasting.
I was listening and not watching and I had to stop what I was doing because at the 9:40-9:41 mark Sara said what sounds like dried penis and I lost it lol
Do a blind Pure Kentucky tasting for science. My bottle says QBCN°: 19-2, so I am assuming second batch or half of 2019. I drank along with you this time, with Weller 107 (screw top), Weller 107 (Newer Corked, Store pick), and Pure KY XO. I definitely agree with the nuttiness on my batch of PKXO, but overall it tasted very young compared to 107. I don't know any age approximations, but I ended up with liking the WA107's taste better, but really appreciated the KYXO nose. Now to decide who wins with the WA107s...they have a surprisingly similar nose (they were bought probably 1.5 years apart), but I would have to give the edge to the newer store pick. The older bottle has unnecessary heat that takes away from the flavor profile, (and this is coming from someone who regularly enjoys barrel proof). Anyways, great video! I love when a random bottle ends up "showing up to the party". Cheers!
I used to buy Pure Kentucky when I went to Kentucky for years, then in 2018 I got a bottle that smelled like gym socks and tasted like grass. Have not bought another bottle since. When did Pure Kentucky change?
Very curious you do reviews on these bottles of bourbon or any liquor when I go to look for my can never find any of them so I'm just curious not being sarcastic but what's the point.
The antique is attainable depending on which state your in but is very hard to get in any state outside ohio and texas, the old rip is only released once per year and is usually part of a lottery or rewards system, the XO is available to about half the states and you should be able to find the bakers pretty easily in any state. I know its frustrating but depending on where you live you may be able to order it online.
I don’t want to speak for our viewers but from general conversations with many, you can get more out of Flight Fights other than if you should buy a bottle or not. But also, if we only focused on bourbons everyone can get, our videos would be pretty limited. We try to mix it up and strike a chord between available/ limited / rare bottles. It can be frustrating as the comment below says, but it does greatly depend on your location and how much time, effort and money you want to put into it. Thanks!

Really want to see that comparison. I have not been impressed by the new Willet.

Sara slightly turned "cattish" at the 3:20 mark with a very quick meow. Lol, great job as always you two!
When does the “Do it blind” shirt com out? Haha
Baker's 7 is VERY under rated! Every one I've had has been Fantastic
9:39 Just keep clicking and listening for a second...
Dried Penis LOL I just listened to it again LOL
I'd be curious about a Baker's Single Barrel comparison, several different barrels against each other.

Yes, please compare the older bottle of Pure Kentucky XO with the newer one. I have the newer one and do enjoy it.
As a primarily scotch drinker I love the dry spice taste of the Baker's
I would definitely love to see the Small Batch Bakers against the Single Barrel Bakers!

I can tell you two are soul mates
Bakers 7 year single barrel is my go to every day, it's great.

would love the Pure Kentucky update comparison as that is a nice priced bourbon if its still a contender
Def would like to see the Pure Kentucky comparison, as that one's been on my "Maybe" list for a while.
2014 vs 2020 sounds interesting. How do you find the production date on the bottle?
I would love to see a face off between 2014 KY XO and a recent buy of that bottle. Lots of surprises!

Any plans on adding W.B. Saffell to the next 107 flight?

Yes compare the two Kentucky XO’s.
I’m not sure how many more videos I’m going to watch with a bunch of whiskeys we can’t get our hands on.

Definitely wanna see a 2014 bottle vs todays bottle episode. Please
I did a blind review of the OWA and the VanWiinkle and the OWA came out on top..... Just barely

I think it would be cool to do a comparison of the Pure Kentucky XO
Hey, guys
I just picked up a Jim Beam Single Barrel 108 here in ATL. Have you heard of it?
Cliff - GO CATS!!
Doing it blind is how the idea for velcro belts was invented
Yes, do it again with a newer bottle
I used to buy Pure Kentucky when I went to Kentucky for years, then in 2018 I got a bottle that smelled like gym socks and tasted like grass. Have not bought another bottle since. When did Pure Kentucky change?
Please, taste test 2019/2020 old Kentucky against older one. Also, do a love taste test of Chattanooga Whiskey(s) as well. Thanks and cheers 🥃👍
What is the Taste Refractory Period to be Used between Sips ?
I should keep an eye out for that Rip Van Winkle.........................……...... or I could just go cry
Everything is illuminated is also a movie. Chad doesn't know that one?
logan jones That one missed my radar. Should I watch it?
And maybe one of them is available and affordable to everyone in the country (USA).
That would be the Bakers ;-/
Love pure Kentucky. Hope it doesn’t become too popular.
yeah had to laugh when a couple of times I could not hear 't' in "dried peanuts"....... I'm five
Yes please. I have been considering pure Kentucky xo
Oh yeah... I feel like Willett has been pumping out lower and lower quality product. Old vs. New! Do it!
Why is rip van 10 not actually pappy?
You have to compare the 2 pure kentucky please
Great video, as usual, guys. Cheers.
What, and how many “control” bourbons did you have before making this video?
Can I say it's a blind if I forget what I poured?
Hahaha yeah!
Awesome!
Wut? No Saffell? 😎
Rare Bird 101 Find us 3 more 107s and we’ll do round two! Haha ;)
It's Bourbon Night Or you can compare Saffell next to the “Hackell” I sent you. ;-) Blind, of course!
Jim beam single barrel is 107 proof
It was hard to focus on the content with you two standing on the wrong sides of each other. It was throwing off the Feng shui.
John Fuhr But we’ve always stood like this, Mr. Torrance. ;) hope you get that reference.
It's Bourbon Night You should know, you’ve ALWAYS been here ;)
Lol I was thinking the same thing. They sit opposite on the live.
Your Mouth Biome / Taste Buds change Multi Withing the Day based on many Things.

Pure Kentucky is absolutely the worst thing I have ever tasted I felt it was an insult to my toilet to pour it in
