I lived in Southern AZ 10 years ago, five years before ever even tasting whiskey. It’s a beautiful state, especially evening sky and sunsets. If I were a drinker back then, I might stayed more than a year:).
When I see crazy prices in liquor store, I'm turn around immediately. Usually they have huge mark up on pretty available whiskies. This is based on my hunting experience. Love your channel.
I love ajs, next time you are in town i highly recommended going to Chandler Chevron and ExtraMile on chandler and 56th st. Amazing selection for a gas station.
Trevor's now has 4 locations! Unfortunately you missed one of the best, the North Scottsdale Mayo Dr location, where they have the 'Whiskey Library'. I'm local, so if there is anything you ever want from there, let me know, I'll ship it to you.
There has been a tremendous amount of Stagg in AZ over the last 8 or 9 months. No, it does not sit on the shelf at MSRP. You can get it in bottle bundles and at bourbon events for MSRP or very close. Every bourbon hunter I know has gotten 3 to 5 bottles of Stagg this year. AZ also gets tons more EH Taylor than most states. Tons of Eagle Rare has come in this year. It was easy to put together a case one or two bottles at a time (some at $33 and some at $38).
I wish I knew! Would have hooked you up with the best non overrated spots. (You went to the wrong star liquor, there is a much cooler one in PHX) Been watching since day one, have grabbed a few of your picks which are always amazing. Glad you enjoyed the state. Next time your out here find this message and DM me haha.
Really cool you guys were in my neighborhood! That Trevor’s store pick is great! AJ’s is a sleeper! Pitch is another cool small restaurant nearby with allot of great picks like rare character and other higher end picks. I’d say best place to hunt is a liquor store called Magnums, about 25 min north of where you were at. Great hotel choice btw
You could have stopped into Barrett-Jackson and spent some real money to haul all your bottles home. Will keep Trevor’s in mind if we go to Phoenix this winter.
Did you guys go to the kroger wine and spirits on Richmond rd. grand opening yesterday? I got there morning of, and was still able to get a coy hill and a rock hill and a mini Blantons for $150 for total. Only waited about an hour n 20 minutes. Earlier people got king of Kentucky and and all the BTAC’s. All retail of course at Kroger.
Yeah, Buffalo Trace is $25 grocery store whisky over here. I've never spent more than $50 for a handle. The best I've done this year is 2 750s for $40. AJs is a little high.
Jerry’s in Tempe used to be good. Every 5th bottle you could go to the allocated closet. Then they jacked up prices to secondary and it all went to crap
CA San Francisco here. buffalo trace has been plentiful and in stock everywhere in the low $20s for many years. Heck even costco will sell it for $20, NO LIMITS. Feels so weird to see other parts of the country feel like it's a noteworthy item to see it lol
Got my Magnus cigar blend and camp Nelson Russel’s single barrel from AJ’s. I paid the 130$ at TW for the new Bookers, and it wasn’t worth the money. You can still get Springfield for 99$!
Tops Liquor in Tempe near ASU campus is great. Found a Booker’s Rye on the shelf there in 2018 for $199 Liquor Express on Apache used to be awesome but the owners sold it and it has been dog water ever since.
That’s for showing AZ. My last EC 18 bottled 4-4-23 was really disappointing. Super heavy on the oak & somewhat astringent. Disappointing to say the least. Eagle Rare in the Atlanta area is $41.99-$55.99. Pretty available
Great hunting video! I live in CA but have hunted in AZ before. I had luck out in the fringes. Wow a 17 year bottle very nice. Thanks for bringing us along.
@@azliquorguy been a "member" since opening. Nothing. I think its fake BS which them winning makes me think it ever more. They're overpriced by at least 20%
Nobody knows how to charge secondary like Bourbon Lore. 50-75k for a bottle of M20 at the event. What a joke, charging 3k for a single pour. Secondary bottle is under 4k. Uses whiskeytubers to make them appear like good guys for the community.
Well you are in Phoenix, not Scottsdale. I am from.Arcadia and grew up there. Very misleading since there are AL'S and Trevors in both cities. Funny you mention in the video, people being unfamiliar in new cities and then you did not get the name right. Did you do that on purpose? You should try and make friends with local bartenders before you get to town. That's how you find the best liquor selections and the best cocktail bars. The mega liquor stores are jokes. The pizza at Trevors is awful. Dont listen to Dave. You have to find the small ones for the rare selections.
Honestly, I really hate Bourbon Lore, they are not members of the whiskey community here. Not really interested in anything they're doing, definitely interested in telling people to not go near them. Come back, drop a DM, will show you some spots.

So many recommend Trevor’s. Glad you reviewed it. I know Kurt from SLB always visits there.

For pizza, go to both of the Pitch locations and see all the awesome barrel picks!

Redwood Empire has amazing offerings. All very good!
Just got a screaming titan and can't wait to open it! I have loved their cask strength offerings
Wow.... Apparently I'm 10 mi away from Trevor's and I've never heard of it. Sounds like I need to do some bourbon hunting myself
Trevor's now has 4 locations! Unfortunately you missed one of the best, the North Scottsdale Mayo Dr location, where they have the 'Whiskey Library'. I'm local, so if there is anything you ever want from there, let me know, I'll ship it to you.
Everyone loves Magical Trevor!
Love all the shock about so many of the bottle prices. Welcome to Arizona!

Came to endorse this comment, and to endorse Star Liquor on 7th & Mohave, near downtown PHX.
Awesome video!!! Thank you for sharing!!
Nice video. Thank you
I could find buffalo trace almost anywhere in Phoenix. And normally pretty decent price too
Wish I could have taken ya'll around the valley and showed you some of the honey holes.
Love this area for hunting. I had to be in the greater Phoenix area for work every month for almost two years and I came back with so much stuff.

The hood always have some gems. 😉
Love you guys, thanks.
Gotta love dust collectors.
Idk how many signed bottles of Heaven Hill 18 they had… but if they only had 1, I’m the one that bought it!
Good video thanks 🥃
You could have stopped into Barrett-Jackson and spent some real money to haul all your bottles home. Will keep Trevor’s in mind if we go to Phoenix this winter.
The owner of tower liquor is a great guy and is always willing to work on prices with you. Ask for Hoot and he’ll work with you…
Should have stayed for the pizza at Trevors!!!!! It’s fantastic.
Whiskey in the wild is backed by a Chicago Blackhawks great player, very dessert like heavy orange flavors 🍻
I love the color of that Bardstown label!

These are great series by the way

Glad you hit Trevor's. Sorry about the Pizza. Dave Portnoy One Bite reviews gave them a huge score.
Love Arizona

Eagle Rare is $30-35 here in SW CO
I've gotten a hancocks reserve from liqour barn in Kentucky. Was may of 2024
That heaven hill grain to glass is 99 bucks in GA 😅😂
Tops Liquor in Tempe near ASU campus is great. Found a Booker’s Rye on the shelf there in 2018 for $199
Liquor Express on Apache used to be awesome but the owners sold it and it has been dog water ever since.
I would have dumped some bottles and gotten the EC18
To be fair, the prices for the Pappy’s at the first store are a “fair” price on the secondary market!
Should have grabbed the cream of ky cask strength at total wine
Liquor Vault is a great store in Scottsdale.
Shhhh don't tell everyone
🍻

Pipe Dream CS is excellent. And that is the lowest price I’ve seen it.
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
I just bought the same G2G wheated for 74.99 here in louisiana. Make it make sense. lol
Too bad you didn't have the pizza at Trevor's in Arcadia. It's amazing.
Cases of Hancocks here in Vegas.
Trevors is basically a more expensive Total Wine. 90% of the same items, but 20% overpriced compared to the market.
The raffles seem like a joke.
You definitely missed out not eating the pizza at Trevor's!!
Just picked up a Bookers at Costco for $80.
Was the Saint's Alley rye the one that you loved a couple years ago? I remember you liked one of them a lot
Should have took the 30 minutes to ABV shop. It’s a great place.
❤🎉🎉🎉
That 2nd Trevors is like 3 miles from the airport...
Great hunting video! I live in CA but have hunted in AZ before. I had luck out in the fringes.
Wow a 17 year bottle very nice. Thanks for bringing us along.
secondary market pricing inside the stores. pathetic! liquor stores should be regulated on their prices. they are insane.
Ive bought $1000+ from Trevors with ZERO raffle wins.
same
Me too
The amount you spend has no bearing on their raffles.
@@azliquorguy been a "member" since opening. Nothing. I think its fake BS which them winning makes me think it ever more.

Same.
283👍
damn ive entered the raffle since trevors had opened and never won :(
Kombucha, huh? I reckon the high proof juice destroyed your gut biome too… I had to reset myself.
$99 for Hancock? Watered down Blantons.
Just eat yogurt, I say!
Very nice hotel. Overrated though. Especially the restaurants but the bars are fantastic.

You guys were playing my backyard.
