  • Track 3 from their self-titled debut album released in 1971 copyright Aquarius Records. It was recorded at RCA Studios in Montreal. The band was formed in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1969 by the Henman brothers, Jim, David and Ritchie, originally from St. Johns, Newfoundland and Myles Goodwyn, originally from Woodstock, New Brunswick. The band was eager to get exposure and make records so they sent a demo tape to Aquarius Records in Montreal. They received a rejection letter from the label and somehow mistook it for an invitation or just weren't prepared to take "no" for an answer. They headed to Montreal with their instruments and $100 in their pockets. The label execs may have taken another listen to their demo and grew to like it or ended up just feeling pity for them but nonetheless, they signed them to a recording contract. They toured Eastern Canada for five months as an opening act and then hit the studio to record this album. The single "Fast Train" reached No. 38 in Canada and established Myles Goodwyn as their chief songwriter. That minor success impressed the record company and they were eager to produce another album. The band continued to tour and open for bigger acts, including Ike and Tina Turner, Jethro Tull, Badfinger and Stevie Wonder. Their sound was hard rock mixed with psychedelia and progressive rock and the band had three capable lead vocalists. This album struggled to be noticed but better times were ahead. Written by Myles Goodwyn and produced by Bill Hill. RIP Myles Goodwyn. Featuring:
Jim Henman - Lead vocals, bass, acoustic guitar & background vocals
David Henman - Lead & rhythm guitars, sitar & background vocals, lead vocals on "Oceana" & "Page Five"
Myles Goodwyn - Rhythm guitars & background vocals, lead vocals on "Fast Train" & "Listen Mister"
Ritchie Henman - Drums, percussion, keyboards & background vocals
I read the colours this mornin'
    I read the colours today
About a man who left from nowhere to be someone
And every day he has to pay in every way
I met a man from New York City
He spoke of things I've yet to find
A good man driven from his homeland
Tryin' to find some peace of mind
    (It's a fast train, it's a fast train)
    (It's a fast train, it's a fast train)
    (It's a fast train, it's a fast train)
    (It's a fast train, it's a fast train)
    (It's a fast train, it's a fast train)
    (It's a fast train, it's a fast train)
    (It's a fast train)
