I’ve been watching this video nearly weekly since I was 16. My cousin introduced me to the Felice brothers after interning at Saddle Creek records. I will be 30 in a few months and it still hits me the same way it did all those years ago. Wonderful group.
I love this! I've been listening to bright eyes since I was 16...am almost 35 now, I observe Conor Oberst Sunday, and since discovering the felice brothers in 2013, I have felice bros Saturdays now too.❤ I am so happy to be alive for their music.
This is beautiful. The film work really captures the moment. I just love being at moments like this, and it's great to see one of these moments caught so perfectly on camera.
You are correct about their personal pains. Simone Felice had a brain anurism (sp?) when a child and almost died. Then, about a year ago, his heart stopped. He released his first solo album recently...this album was made when recovering from open heart surgery. He almost died this second time leaving behind his 1 year old baby girl, but he didn't. His work, and all the brothers work (3 of them are blood, the others may as well be) is exceptional. They are artists; we are fortunate for that.
I got to see the Felice Brothers playing live on stage in Old London Town last night, a most brilliant concert was, after the show the boys stood out near the exit so people could say hello and thank you as they passed by, I asked the boys was it OK if I became the 5 member in their band, they James & Ian said James yes and could I play harp for them, Man as I happy,
what makes these boys and their songs so special is their transparacy and the fact everything is is out there for all to see. no hidden agenda, just honesty. plus ian felice is one of the best song writers of a generation, which is nice to have on your c.v.
@@agehernandez1853 Hell bro , nine years since I made that comment . In the mean time I have seen these boys 6 times and met Ian Felice for the first time last year, in Manchester UK . Not very talkative but very, very humble as was James whom I've met three times now .
mesmorizing. No amps or mikes or even background noise. These guys look like they waltzed down the hills from some ancient mining camp. Unaware of the day or year. Love it!
Me too......... & I've been to a fuck of a lot of gigs over the last 38 years.... Wasn't the gig at "The Lumiere" though? Upstairs I think...? It's closed now sadly.
just saw them at the Rathskeller in Madison, WI. awesome. they are so much fun without trying too hard. great music. i bought their latest album and i want to see them live again!
First heard this song at the Koko last year, then again in BRighton this summer. Pleased to find it on GBYA but didn't know they were singing it so long ago. A wonderful song and this video is amazing. How lucky were those in the audience. What a band!
Just saw the FB at Bethel Woods in NY(site of Woodstock ). They are amazing. The crowd was a mix of young and "mature." I am 60 and am now a devoted fan. They are not only mufti talented,, they are so cute.
its good to see the bros in this kind of setting--usually its in a hall with rowdy ass people talking and shouting-not giving a damn about their music--these guys are good
The observation should not be why does one band sound like Bob Dylan but why so much contemporary music sounds so homogenous and indistinguishably boringly dire. Felice Brothers are terrific and one of literally a handful of bands doing anything interesting and are no more like Bob Dylan than Bob Dylan was like Guthrie or Guthrie was like Blind Alfred Reed. Light the candle and pass on the flame......................
If you listen and look back far enough, someone always sounds like someone else. These guys are awesome. Dylan is great. There doesn't need to be a mutual exclusiveness to it. Just enjoy the music.

It’s priceless.
Starting with a self deprecating joke. Small crowd. Family vibes. Casual brilliance. Songwriting that can change your life. The Felice Brothers!
This live version sounds one thousand times better than the recorded version. Love it.
No matter how many times I listen to this wonderful piece, I always end up with goose-bumps and teary eyes!
omhril Me too!
I’m the opposite, i get goose eyes and teary bumps. Very nice song though
@@jamesconnick1112 And I'm the opposite of that. I get eye bumps and goose tears.
@@aaronhoyes1781 And I’m the opposite of that: I get Duck Bumps and Glassy Eyes
This song!!!!
I'm obsessed with this band. Everything that I love in music.
"What keeps me alive is the green in your eyes. And the sweet distant drone of your voice on the phone."
Kills me.
Will stand forever. Such a beautiful line.
And me.
These guys are great! I'm proud to say we play them on the radio station I work for.
Oh, those lucky few; to have witnessed such a wondrous moment.
I love the athmosphere, I love the harmony, I love the melody, I love the song.....I'm addicted

Got to be one of the greatest love songs ever written and performed. Wonderful.
Man their lives seems to be so easy when I look at them. It seems like they live the life of freedom I've always wanted.
Oh my goodness everything about them is so wonderful!
gives me goosebumps every single time oh man
You can feel the cool of an English summer evening as these guys tap into the source.
Oh, quite stunning. I love this.

Ian is the shit. Met him once in San Antonio and he was the sweetest most chill dude ever.

Friday the 9th of December 2011 at the Glasgow ABC might just be the best night ever!!!!

It would have been like having the Bros. in your back yard, absolutely incredible. And yes...they put on an incredible live show.
Thanks for capturing. This is magic.

Well said, and I think that holds true for a lot of comparisons. Sounding like Dylan is a good thing.
@Colm Mac Diarmada My old man told me, well he told me a lot of things... the student should surpass the teacher.
thanks for the input, very insightful
Thanks bigred. Much appreciated!
Come to Canada!
this is just really really good ... heartfelt and good ! thank you.

Best band in the country.
This is nostalgic
Love some Felice brothers. Fucking genius. Every word, every note.
Sweet American Sound & soul
A++ Great Job!!
I saw the Felice Brothers within a few days of this performance at The Borderline. I love the grungy Dylanesque sound the singer has.

Haha, we saw the name of the band and since "Felice" is my sister's nickname, we looked them up
They're awesome!
Love so hard.

I've gone to some great shows but none as great as the ones these guys have done. I just hope they hold on.
