Respect to the owners for acknowledging that their dog might be a problem and coming in with him already muzzled. Plenty of otherwise sweet dogs can react badly in stressful situations and it's very considerate and responsible of the owners to take preemptive measures to avoid putting you at risk. Hopefully over time Max will become more comfortable with grooming, and the muzzle may not always be necessary! He seems like a good boy
It’s also incredibly good etiquette on the dog, a vet is the last person you want a dog to bite because there’s little to no chance of it NOT getting euthanized because of the way OSHA works. Dogs like these are how you can really tell how much an owner cares and it shows very clearly with this dog, such a cute little thing and it’s very lucky to have a home that cares so much Personally I don’t like the idea of euthanizing animals simply because they didn’t ask to be domesticated but there’s not a whole lot of other options considering the dogs poor training if something like an aggressive bite. Especially because that dog isn’t fit for the wild. This is especially troubling though, as all life deserves to be treated equally and we don’t treat plants, bugs, and non domesticated life with the same respect and care as the ladder and that can be a double edged blade considering its way easier to get away with a bite if you’re a wild animal, but if you’re domesticated you’re born with tons of unfair conditions and expectations than what their feral counterpart is. Dogs didnt ask to be here and it’s great to see an owner that respects their dog as deserved.

@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 sorry to hear about your dog, but I must clarify that all dogs are different they will have different reactions but this does not mean that one is aggressive and the other is not
Good job to his pup-parents for ensuring the safety of both Max and his groomers with that muzzle (and muzzle training). Huskys can be SO mouthy and they're traditionally hard to train.
I agree a smart pet parent recognizes that a dog with aggressive tendencies is safer with a muzzle. A proper fitting muzzle is not harmful and also protects the pet from being put down for a bad decision to bite whether it is out of fear or aggressive behavior!❤❤❤❤

What a gorgeous puppy. I couldn't help but aww when he was crying, my brothers shih tzu used to do that whenever I used to give her a bath and it always melted my heart.
to be fair - at least for the Husky part - for Huskies doing their natural job, where they're naturally from, if they get wet, it means something's gone very wrong, they've likely fallen through ice, into near-freezing water, and if they don't get out, & aren't thoroughly dried off fast (which was unlikely, back in the day), they will die, so, that the water is warm, notwithstanding, the instinct in Huskies tells them to avoid getting soaking wet, at all costs, and hey, at least screaming & crying is way better than a violent attack on the person(s) bathing them
We've had a husky-lab for the past 6 years and it's hilarious the noises they make. Just as they learn to understand your commands, you too learn to decipher the different borks and roo-roos.
I used to groom a corgi that always came in with a muzzle on. He had a history of bitting vets and groomers, hence the muzzle but by the time I got him he was a very well behaved gentleman. Owner and I agreed it was best to continue grooms with the muzzle on for everyone's safety just in case but he was always a very easy dog. Also a good reminder to everyone that muzzle training your dog is always a good idea. You never know if your dog will bite in stressful or painful situations. A dog that is trained to tolerate a muzzle is a lot safter to handle in these situations than one who is not and panics and tries to rip it off. The dog is also a lot safer when trained, since sticky situations can arise and if they cannot handle it they often will injure themselves during their panic and the humans trying to help them cannot, or they have to be on sedatives which come with their own risks. If you have doubts, any dog can end up with a severe injury that they are still conscious for and an emergency situation would call for moving them, handling them and treating them. Other situations, like bad matting, or a treatment they cannot tolerate, also dogs who get older and are in more pain tend to get cranky and bite. Overall it's a good idea to muzzle train, it does not harm them and training them associates the muzzle with good things like treats.
Tbh i bring my dog muzzled too but not for the groomers, they usually remove it, they even asked me why i muzzle him at all. I was just advised to do so cause he's a nearly 100 pounds GSD and can be reactive to strangers specially in tight spaces. A muzzle isn't a sign of a bad dog or bad owner. Its a sign of a responsible owner who knows their dog and want to protect him and everyone around.
Well, truth, normally it means they weren't trained right. I've had lots of dogs. None ever even bared teeth at a human. My last one just died, huge tumor. She whimpered when they moved her, but she's never lifted a lip at any human. That was extenuating circumstances. I wouldn't blame her if she was mad, too. She was her extremely sweet self til the end. It's a problem when you have a strong dog that's kid gloved. Tho, here I could see nobody wanting to hear loud yowling at full volume for 2 hours.
