11:25 Although it is NOT fun to grind for, I think that Liminal Vigil from Spire of the Watcher packs quite the punch for a sidearm and is the clear optimal kinetic-slot choice for both general slaying and splash damage; it has access to 3rd column headstone that can stack with damage perks in its 4th column (e.g., swash, kill clip, surrounded), making it a monster for AoE detonations and raw damage output. To truly make the best of this combo, you'd want armor-piercing rounds; the over-penetration allows you to detonate headstone crystals through the enemies you're shooting, all at the same time, if you have them lined up. On top of all that, its origin trait can grant moderate boosts to handling and reload speed, both of which are great stat bumps for it. More generally, armor-piercing rounds are super slept on for trash mob clear, ESPECIALLY for close-range options like Liminal Vigil where lining up trash mobs is significantly easier and more likely to happen naturally due to enemy AI behavior. In the most optimal conditions (e.g., a line of thralls), you effectively double your slaying potential because one bullet damages two enemies at once. If any of you ever snag a roll like this, I implore you to try it. I'm lucky enough to have a version of this roll after grinding it and, combined with anti-barrier sidearm and Hail the Storm from this season's artifact to further improve Headstone detonations, it just absolutely f*cking DESTROYS trash mobs.

At least for this season I've gotten a Parabellum with Heal clip + Attrition Orbs and its been working on any subclass I use solar surge mods on (paired with Dragons Breath usually). Attrition orbs for guaranteed orb generation for every mag (67% of mag hit) for constant uptime of surge mods plus gaining ability energy back and healing via mods is just amazing as a support frame in end-game content. It's like a damage, healing, and ability generating perk all in one (based on the orb mods you have equipped). As I'm only using primaries, specifically solar, to trigger the seasonal artifacts and to clear red bars it's mostly a support slot vs my Special and Heavy weapons. Impulse amplifier voltshot indebted kindness with velocity masterwork is crazy underrated. My new go to secondary this season. Great range, great ad clear and surprisingly good at dealing with yellow bars, especially barriers.
For primary sidearms I use Liminal Vigil from Spire of Watchers. I got headstone + desperado, Once you have one crit kill you can get decent splash damage from ice crystals and the gun itself fires very quickly and it has some stasis synergy.
I really want your channel to grow because your videos are so well explained and i know you actually know what your talking about. Ill continue to like your videos. Growwww my friend🎉
Thanks for this one, I just like some of the primaries because the archetypes are fun to use and not because they are best. I usually play Destiny when I want to experience great gunplay while mindlessly killing PvE creatures to just chillout. I also like the more difficult stuff as well with friends but when solo, find the more meta weapon loadouts a bit, idk, like I'm not really playing a shooter because it's all just projectiles
One hand cannon I think is slept on is posterity, 180 HCs have slightly better dps than 140s and voltshot frenzy is very potent for add clear, and the bray inheritance origin trait is a good bonus too. The add clear isn't as strong as zaouli's, but I much prefer it over nation of beasts
Not the kind of end game pve you’re talking about, but for lfg Crota’s End I clutch my heal clip Parabellum so tight as the extra healing for allies is the only thing getting us through the lamp encounter.
I still use my Seventh Seraph SI-2 with Threat Detector and Vorpal. Say what you will, sidearms do really good damage anyway, so Vorpal really helps when you need the damage. Literally my second most used gun
One thing to mention with Buzzard. It's probably the best champ stunning side arm legendary wise. How? cuz each time u get kinetic tremors to proc, simply reload and shoot the side arm again, you should be able to break the first initial shield that comes up with the first proc ive used it as my go to when +20 power levels under in a master lost sector. Shoot, soon as kinetic tremors procs, reload and shoot again, the barrieer champ will continue to be stun locked without ever shooting at u. It pretty funny how ppl arent aware of how broken kinetic treamors is for a side arm that is anti barrier. Ever since they changed how kinetic treamors work, u can proc it back to back to back and with a side arm like buzzard with incredibly fast fire rate and reload speed you can constantly stun barriers and kill them with a side arm alone.
Imo trustee feels better with recon + incan, as I don't feel like it has enough range at base to warrant building it out to be viable in sustained long range fire, where it would benefit most from the stability increase granted by rapid hit. Instead I feel it excels by leaning into the rapid frame style with recon, and the mag is so big that you'll rarely need to reload it anyway if you're using other weapons every now and again. Works surprisingly well for occasional hip fire too, it's no DMT, but in a pinch it can hold its own in cqc
I haven't seen any of you endgame YTers say this so I'm gonna here. When you said Precision Bows are superior to Lightweight bows I don't necessarily agree. I can see how scouts and precision bows encourage plinking in the back of the map for endgame content, but Lightweight Bows are designed to be played much closer. Given their stats, damage profile, and traits they're really designed to be used in place of hand cannons outside of lucky pants builds. PvE or PvP, Lightweight Bows encourage a slightly more aggressive playstyle but that's all. Thanks for the content
While I disagree on the subjective analysis (mostly because it's not really relevant given the role of primaries), lightweights recently got buffed to become competitive with precisions damage profile-wise
@@TheAegisRelic you're not secretive on how you feel about primaries, so that doesn't need to be restated so often. I love your content but hate that, lol. What I said isn't subjective and your arrogant response is a joke.
@@thawsomepancakes3615 it's not subjective when I'm discussing weapon design philosophy. That comes from Bungie and they've communicated that in the past. This creator is already biased against primaries and you don't think for yourself. If he can't accept that he might be partially incorrect on something then that's their journey.
Heart broken at putting nation of beasts 2nd, the blue sparkles and zappy reload damage perk make me far happier than stupid orange silliness (I used zaoulis bane during day 1 crota)
i do have a question regarding weapons and viability in endgame content. why does affinity matter so much, and how do you determine the optimal affinity for weapons? like, why is a kinetic affinity best for shotguns and snipers, as an example. again, love your videos edit: thank you all for your replies. i have a much better understanding of how affinities play into endgame content now!
Kinetic weapons do bonus damage to unshielded targets, especially special weapons. Since there are virtually no Stasis or Strand shields in the game, you should just go for Kinetic when possible. (For example, Mykel's Reverence is only mentioned because there are no kinetic sidearms with comparable perks.)
@@bradens.3125 the reason they weighted stasis higher was for its use with Ballidorse Wrathweavers, which gave the team 4 stasis surges for free. this was used so that people can run kinetic surges to maximize dps.
As the other comments said Kinetic affinity does more dmg to unshielded targets. For other weapons, it mostly comes down to your build and the current meta: For DPS, Solar Special weapons are usually better because they're paired with Apex Predator, sharing the same Element and Surge Mods. Stasis weapons were preferred thanks to an interaction with Ballidorse Wrathweavers but now it's gone so they lost their edge. Some weapons are good regardless of the affinity, but you have to know how to use them (Ex. Supremacy with KT). For General Play/Add-Clear you should use something of the same Element of your subclass to take advantage of Fragments and Verbs. Also, most endgame activities have Surge Modifiers that buff one or more element/weapons and if your subclass matches the Element of the Modifier, your Kinetic weapons gets a 25% stackable damage buff. There is no "best affinity" for specific weapons types, it comes on which role they have and the activity. For example: LMGs are Add-clear weapons and follow Add-clear rules, while RLs are DPS weapons and follow DPS rules. Shotguns and FRs can be both, depending on their roll, so be sure to know for what you're using them.
I lucked out hard and got a 5/5 god roll summoner with heal clip + incandescent, what do you think abt it. Aslo what are your thoughts on Corrasion ? Up there as one of the best primaries in the game aith nullify imo.
I consider myself decent and very much at the “endgame” lowmaning phase of this game. It sucks how underpowered most if not all legendary primaries are but I’m glad you made the video anyway because it gets boring running the same loadout all the time lol.
Agreed I kinda hate how so much can just boil down to where you're trying to fit an exotic in your loadout and offsetting various tasks and other things than truly getting much mileage out of a legendary primary. I look over past recent years of the game when more challenging content entered and it's night/day just so much variation I've used back then compared to this past year. I get Bungie wanted exotic primaries to feel special but it just overshines way too much and sucks how inferior a lot of regular primary legendaries can feel.
Curious if you'd consider making a similar video specifically only for high end stuff and/or speedrunning. There are already quite a few options here that I could consider for end game but then I feel like the amount of choices is still a bit overwhelming.
I get that precision bows are a better archetype but I like my craftable lightweight fel teradiddle...I use mine with shoot to loot and explosive head plus it has the psychohack origin trait and it's kinetic.
how do you one tap with tripwire canary? the under over roll i mean edit: also is better an adept wardens law with enlightened or fttc? having appended mag since no one talks about the math there great video as always o7
Heliocentric has really nasty recoil on console. Drang is a much better option for console players and is craftable so can get enhanced perks. Was surprised by Subjunctive. It has some reticle scatter on console, but not too much and the recoil is very manageable for a 900. I’ve used it more than my Ikelos this season.
@TheAegisRelic normally I agree, but looking at this season with incandescent and a really soild reload perk in the 3rd slot with grave robber or something like unrelenting for survivability seems soild. (Not trying to discredit your options) just would love to see your point of view for it
I may just be stupid, but at 4:57 , how are those bows meant for overloads? Did you mean when bows get a anti-overload mod that these are the best for dealing with them, or are you specifically talking about the percs? I can kind of get Pre Astayanax for its origin trait Stunning Recovery aside from the fact that I feel like it would be good against any champion for that specific reason, but I fail to see how Strident Whistle then makes an appearance nor how they are both the best versus specifically overload champions.
I would have assumed Waking Vigil would have been called out in the hand cannon section because it can get Shoot to Loot + Voltshot. Is it just held back by its stats, or does Nation of Beats really offer more with Dragonfly? See the same with Posterity getting Frenzy + Voltshot.
Posterity was a close third in the consideration for energy HCs but I just didn't think Vigil offered anything that another hand cannon doesn't already have for the most part (it's not bad though)
well parabellum over calus or the smg from ghost of the deep is crazy for me you have no interaction with you subclass so any kinetic smg is better cause they do more dmg

Not me having to rewind the video to hear what Aegis said because I zoned out watching the footage
For primary sidearms I use Liminal Vigil from Spire of Watchers. I got headstone + desperado, Once you have one crit kill you can get decent splash damage from ice crystals and the gun itself fires very quickly and it has some stasis synergy.
This was definitely one of the sidearms I considered for the kinetic slot
I really want your channel to grow because your videos are so well explained and i know you actually know what your talking about. Ill continue to like your videos. Growwww my friend🎉
Thanks!
“Primaries make up 1% of my kills this past year”
Me, who has Quicksilver, Sunshot or Mini-Tool glued to my hands.
*Legendary primeries
Should have mentioned Posterity for hand cannons, Voltshot/Frenzy goes crazy. 180s are slept on for sure.
Yeah it was brought up in the discussion
I’m a simple man, I see Agis upload, I watch, I get monkey neurons activation
Thanks for this one, I just like some of the primaries because the archetypes are fun to use and not because they are best. I usually play Destiny when I want to experience great gunplay while mindlessly killing PvE creatures to just chillout. I also like the more difficult stuff as well with friends but when solo, find the more meta weapon loadouts a bit, idk, like I'm not really playing a shooter because it's all just projectiles
Yess ive been waiting for this video for a while a good sir. As always you deliver
As far as autos go i like the ros with RR but old sterling with RR and frenzy melts adds fast its my favorite legendary auto by a mile
It was a close third when we were debating the HCs to put on this list
Me refusing to let go of my ugly, stupid, very powercrept Sweet Sorrow
KT does break Barriers but imo most weapons that have KT are better off with a shield break perk
Ross Arago IV with Rewind Rounds and onslaught also its void best AR in game
My vault is happy now
Imo trustee feels better with recon + incan, as I don't feel like it has enough range at base to warrant building it out to be viable in sustained long range fire, where it would benefit most from the stability increase granted by rapid hit.
Yeah Recon's fine too
honey wake up new aegis dropped
Posterity is literally an upgraded Nation of beast in all categories.
It's a 180 so a lot of people were a little against it but it was a solid third place in our discussion
Nothing beats the good old night watch for endgame long range stuff 😅
Still decent for sure
babe wake up, new aegis upload
@@nrdscottwhat you said is very much subjective and irrelevant when it comes to viability
@@nrdscott yeah yap yap cool theyre still shit
I understand the appeal of incandescent on zaouli especially this season, but EP + OfA compounds damage buff and is really strong
That's a fine roll too, although overall I think it is worse
Heart broken at putting nation of beasts 2nd, the blue sparkles and zappy reload damage perk make me far happier than stupid orange silliness (I used zaoulis bane during day 1 crota)
I have a wolf tone draw bow with dragonfly and damn with jolt from aspects this thing just slaps
Love your content, thanks for the quality AND quantity!
Determining which pulse archetype is best for endgame pve has given me a headache. Were you able to figure it out?😅
Lightweights and rapids are chill
@@TheAegisRelic thx!
supprised the Ammit AR2 with incondesent wasnt on the auto list? Guess ill have to give these other autos a looksie.
The only primary that I use is funnel web maybe it’s just me missing recluse but I love that thing
NEW AEGIS VIDEO BEAST
I think you mispelled forbearance :S
i do have a question regarding weapons and viability in endgame content. why does affinity matter so much, and how do you determine the optimal affinity for weapons? like, why is a kinetic affinity best for shotguns and snipers, as an example.
again, love your videos
edit: thank you all for your replies. i have a much better understanding of how affinities play into endgame content now!
Kinetic weapons just have an intrinsic bonus to unshielded targets from the match game era (+10% primary, +15% special)
@@TheAegisRelicthank you! though, what about heavy weapons? why is the ideal for all but LMGs stasis? and why is the ideal LMG affinity solar?
@@bradens.3125 the reason they weighted stasis higher was for its use with Ballidorse Wrathweavers, which gave the team 4 stasis surges for free. this was used so that people can run kinetic surges to maximize dps.
As the other comments said Kinetic affinity does more dmg to unshielded targets. For other weapons, it mostly comes down to your build and the current meta:
For DPS, Solar Special weapons are usually better because they're paired with Apex Predator, sharing the same Element and Surge Mods.
Calus mini-tool is obtainable and easily the best energy slot SMG IMO
I think it's worse overall than the options mentioned but probably a solid third place
RIP The GoS runs when uploading the vid 😂
I lucked out hard and got a 5/5 god roll summoner with heal clip + incandescent, what do you think abt it. Aslo what are your thoughts on Corrasion ? Up there as one of the best primaries in the game aith nullify imo.
Pretty decent, will update this soon
I consider myself decent and very much at the “endgame” lowmaning phase of this game. It sucks how underpowered most if not all legendary primaries are but I’m glad you made the video anyway because it gets boring running the same loadout all the time lol.
Agreed I kinda hate how so much can just boil down to where you're trying to fit an exotic in your loadout and offsetting various tasks and other things than truly getting much mileage out of a legendary primary. I look over past recent years of the game when more challenging content entered and it's night/day just so much variation I've used back then compared to this past year. I get Bungie wanted exotic primaries to feel special but it just overshines way too much and sucks how inferior a lot of regular primary legendaries can feel.
great video! id love a video on endgame loadouts, and for you to go more in depth on why legendary primaries arent worth it.
Coming soonish!
Curious if you'd consider making a similar video specifically only for high end stuff and/or speedrunning.
There are already quite a few options here that I could consider for end game but then I feel like the amount of choices is still a bit overwhelming.
Yeah I'll probably make an equipment video some time
So we're just gonna ignore calus minitool with a healing perk and a splash perk
I personally don't think CMT is better than the options suggested here
I get that precision bows are a better archetype but I like my craftable lightweight fel teradiddle...I use mine with shoot to loot and explosive head plus it has the psychohack origin trait and it's kinetic.
Fel isn't bad I just disliked using it, lightweight bows feel really weird to me
how do you one tap with tripwire canary? the under over roll i mean
edit: also is better an adept wardens law with enlightened or fttc? having appended mag since no one talks about the math there
great video as always o7
Need Radiant and surges and depends on difficulty level
FTTC for damage, Enlightened for regular stuff
honorable mention: D.F.A. (it's not really good but it's pretty)
Can’t believe travelers chosen wasn’t on this list
I know right?
omg new aegis video! letsgoo
Shook to not see mini tool
I personally don't really think it lives up to the other options on the list, but it's definitely a top pick overall
@TheAegisRelic normally I agree, but looking at this season with incandescent and a really soild reload perk in the 3rd slot with grave robber or something like unrelenting for survivability seems soild. (Not trying to discredit your options) just would love to see your point of view for it
Where’s the mention of calus mini tool with incandescent, litterely the best primary in the game
CMT is overrated imo but I might reconsider next update :P
I may just be stupid, but at 4:57 , how are those bows meant for overloads? Did you mean when bows get a anti-overload mod that these are the best for dealing with them, or are you specifically talking about the percs? I can kind of get Pre Astayanax for its origin trait Stunning Recovery aside from the fact that I feel like it would be good against any champion for that specific reason, but I fail to see how Strident Whistle then makes an appearance nor how they are both the best versus specifically overload champions.
Explosive Head applies two damage instances which can help with stunning right as a champ comes out of its stun timer (when Overload Bow is around)
Different roles - Parabellum is more of a utility/champ stun SMG, they don't really compete and weren't being compared
we gettin outta vow rta with this one 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥
Ah hell naw
im really scratching my head at the enlightened action highlight on abyss defiant... subsistence any day of the week mate
Endgame content means you don't get enough kills to make good use of Subsistence
"yeah thats a mouthful but a tasty one" nah ur a freaky dude
didn’t realize posterity had so many shooters in these comments
im surprised that the calus mini tool, Drang, and funnel web weren't mentioned.
I think CMT is worse than the options mentioned overall, Drang is worse than Heliocentric, and Funnel is overrated imo
Good video thanks man
Ros Arago with repulsor brace for void subclass is insane why didnt bothered mention it
there are a lot of really good guns for void, but void itself kinda sucks
which is why the void guns are not "endgame"
way too inconsistent in endgame
Subclass locked and inconsistent
“Given the length of the current season”… *you’ve lengthened your duration* plays on screen 🤣 was that intentional Mr. Aegis?
No but good catch haha
i'm baffled at how unpopular Enlightened Action is, considering how easy is to proc and consistent it is without relying on precision kills or kills
