CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Mario (Sergio Castellitto) uses his subtle charm to convince Lina (Maxime Foerste) to eat for the first time in weeks.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Sandra Nettelbeck spins this gentle drama about how a child's presence can change the lives of the most shy and career-minded of adults. Martha (Martina Gedeck) is the chef of a popular Hamburg eatery who fusses and obsesses over each dish before it leaves the kitchen. The demands of her job and her natural shyness keep her from breaking out of her routine to meet new people. When her sister suddenly dies in a car accident, Martha adopts Lina, her eight-year-old niece. Martha's life soon completely changes -- not only must she adjust herself to new parental role, but she must help Lina deal with her grief over the loss of her mother. Martha gets unexpected help from Mario, Martha's hunky new sous chef, who is not only a whiz on the chopping block but knows sundry magic tricks and jokes to keep Lina's spirits afloat. Just as Martha starts to grow attached to the girl, however, the possibility of Lina returning to the custody of her father arises. This film was screened at the 2001 Toronto Film Festival.

What I can't get over is the portion size difference with the American version. He makes a bowl of pasta about 5x the size of this!
USA vs the rest of the world
I can’t believe all this time the Catherine Zeta Jones’ movie “No Reservations” was actually a remake of this movie!!!!
Yea you could put together a whole genre of French and Italian films Hollywood have just outright taken the plot from, sometimes even most of the script.
The German version is far superior.
@@miguelangelfernandezmartin5109 agreed!
The original Is way better
@@JahArmyFamily Yeah but sadly many always prefer the remakes. Especially the younger generations.
One of my very favorite films. In Loving Memory of my Beloved Brother Jim who introduced me to this beautiful film.
it is so purely italian this kind of redemption through good food... not a clichè at all
Loveliest scene.♥️♥️♥️👍👍👍
She ate it all after all lol
This one ... is special. The acting is superb, universal. The story - this - impossible orphan so easily handled by a chef who is just too much for the chief of the kitchen- Martha - brings the cinema back to it's glory!
I highly recommend it!
2001 legend movies
I remember watching this before the US one came out. I loved it. Haven't seen the US one though.
In RUclips free now no reservation
The German original has natural charm. The Hollywood copy is forced and unrealistic.
@@bostonrobbins876 This scene fortunately still has the same heart. A bit more impish as the guy foists it on her a bit more 'hurriedly' like "Hold this!" as if he doesn't expect her to eat it.
Pura poesia 🙂
Sooo much better!
he looks serge ginsberg hahaha
I just watched the scene from No Reservations.
The US remake is brilliant, too. Now, should I pop some spaghetti in the water and screw up my low-carb diet for good? This scene is pure torture.
The remake is a piece of shit. :)
The remake is SO bad
Oh really?0
Yes you can! Low carb doesn’t mean no carb, and some carbs are necessary for happiness in life!!!
The German version is far superior.
I s the pregnant lady the same person from "No Reservations"? Striking resemblance.
This was the original
What language are they speaking? it’s so beautiful
Korean
Strange thought it was German 🤔🤔😂😂😂

パスタの量少なすぎない?リメイク版は、もっとたっぷり入ってたんだけど・・・
No reservation
🥲
I might be partial, but I like the American version (No Reservation) much better.
Is there a reason why?, i'm thinking on watching it
