- Thanks so much for watching!! I've been having some technology issues so it's been a bit daunting. Suggestions for software for filming on my mac would be greatly appreciated - the luck has worn out with our old set up.
Also - my hair is a disaster because I just got out of the shower. I mentioned that in one filming and then forgot here - it's not that I don't care... it's just it's way too long and I can't get it cut. You guys know the struggle!
Interested in joining in for a SAL on Teressa Kogurt's A Teeny Garden? Let me know! Start date TBD - but definitely sometime in June! If you need to pick up a copy of the Celebrations books, contact Craft Gallery in Findlay, OH and mention that you're joining in on the SAL with me and they'll give you 10% off!

Congratulations on 4,000 subscribers. I always enjoy seeing your projects and listening. Moving is so much work, but there is life after all those boxes (and stitching).
Congrats on your new home!! An amazing space all for yourself...loving the WIP board!!
Congratulations on the new house...love your mania ideas...cheers
Thank you for your awesome videos!
Congrats on your new home, and I hope to join in on the SAL as well!!! Happy 4000!!!
Love your finishes and I will totally SAL the Teresa Kogut piece with you 😊
Awesome!!
Love your Flosstube room! Your house looks amazing. Congratulations...I do have Teresa Kogut`s book and it would be so fun to do a SAL. My #24hocs planner is turning out amazing and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Happy stitching! 💜💜💜
Awesome!!!
Jen, you are my stitching hero!! Amazed at how much you get done & love how organized you are!! And I can completely relate to the wanting to organize data, even if there doesn't appear to be a specific reason to do so. ORGANIZATION IS A HOBBY!!! lol ;)
Congrats on your new home!!! Your flosstube room is soooo nice! Drooling over all your WiPs! So many I love!!! I purchased His Eye is on the Sparrow. Yours is so beautiful!! Happy stitching 💕
JEN I LOVE YOUR MAYNIA PLANS!!!! Especially getting to see them chronologically. I know you must be so excited to be in the new house and dream of how to organize all the rooms. DON’T YOU DARE DIRTY UP THAT MAP OF HAWK RUN!! It’s BEAUTIFUL!!!
🤔 Ok, do what you want! #youdoyouboo
How in the heck did I miss your video?!?! 3 weeks have gone by and I totally didn’t see it pop up. Ugh. Technically challenged. I am so happy for y’all on your new home. So exciting!!
What a great idea, Maynia 520. I might try that in June. Great progress on your WIPS. Great finishes. Congratulations on the new house. Thanks for sharing
Congratulations on the new house! So happy for you. I don’t count stitches, and have absolutely no desire to, but seeing the way your mind works and knowing that I’m not the only compiler and keeper of information that nobody cares about but me makes me SO happy! Keep it up, and congrats on 4000 subscribers!!!
Jen, I’m so very happy for you and Brandon on your wonderful home, and there couldn’t be a more beautiful sunroom for your stitchy space! 💚
Hi Jen,
Congratulations on your new home. You have certainly had a lot on your plate. As far as tea or coffee dying goes after the fact watch the Prim Stitcher ( think I have that right). she tea and coffee dyes a lot of her things after they have been stitched.
Enjoy your new home. Hope to get back to Ohio soon and see everyone at Craft Gallery again.
Deborah Rheinholtz
Hi Jen! Congrats on the new house! Instead of bookshelves you might want to consider some pretty armoires. You can close the doors on all the stuff we love to accumulate! I get mine from craigslist and local consignment shops. Cheers!
A sal would be great and my gotcha day is in the first week of June! How special. I'm gonna try and see if I can order the book. I live in texas
Great progress! I’ve been tracking my stitches in my bullet journal - April was my best month also. I’ve seen people tea dye to antique a piece. Love your craft room! Thanks for sharing your stitching and be well!
Your tracking system is amazing and could be really useful for my Enchanted stitching. I would like to join in the SAL this June.
Awesome! I’ll get more specific details out soon!
you make me feel so good about myself...lol lol lol
Haha - I’m not sure how I should take that... 😂
I love your Maynia idea! And it was so good to see you in your new home.
Loved your explanation of your Maynia. I'm doing spectatomaynia. So excited to see your"counting” strategies and the spreadsheet spoke to me. Thank you for sharing this.
You can totally dye your pieces after you’re done. The piece you’re doing on lambs wool is actually even better for dying after finishing if you’re worried that the floss will change color too much. The lambs wool will actually take food coloring. So you’re not limited in colors at all. And if you stitched with cotton then the floss won’t take any of the food coloring. If it’s stitched with silk threads they will take some color, but cotton threads won’t, so only the fabric will color, but that’s only with the lambs wool. There are lots of videos by different people on dyeing your piece after stitching with all different fabrics and threads. I loved seeing all your projects and your new space looks great. I love the chalkboard!
Thank you!
Congratulations on the new home. And, oh man do I appreciate your love of organization. It really must be a Jen thing.
Haha - I love it!
Congratulations on reaching 4,000, Jen! Where did you live in PA? We are in Hatboro.
Thanks! I was in Delaware County, just outside West Philly. Rural Ohio has definitely been some culture shock!
Your house looks great, congrats!
Congrats on 4k!!!
Hi Jen, thank you for all you do...flosstube, 24 hocs, planner. Quick question....what is the name of the piece on your blockboard ...the one with the clocks?
That is Clocks by Felicity Hall. It was in a CrossStitcher magazine I think. I can try to find which one.
I’d love to do the SAL
Awesome!!
I have the book and I will SAL with you!!
Yay!!
You are so organized. I just can't breathe when I see the list on the chalk board.... question??? What do you do with all the leftover threads from stitching????
I try - it’s all pretty chaotic right now! I recycle my threads to other projects. I’m trying to figure out an organizational system that works now!
I would love to join your SAL! June 1st works for me, I'll order the book. Just found your floss tube videos. ❤️❤️❤️ your brick walls and the chalkboard is awesome.
Awesome!!
Congratulations Jen on 4,000 subscribers! That's fabulous! I enjoyed your video today. Also congrats on your new home! I remember the excitement when my husband and I got our first home, many years ago. I am interested in the SAL with Theresa Kogut's new book. I already have the book, so I just need to get my floss and fabric together. It should be fun. Oh, I think you can "dirty up" that cross stitch piece easily enough. If I were you, I think I would try it on the Prairie Schooler piece first to see what technique you like the best. Happy Stitching! Pam Miller in Alabama
Great advice Pam! Excited to SAL with you!
Sorry for your filming challenges! I have been recording on my iPad and then transferring to my Mac... Love the new space! I’m in for the SAL and I’m happy with whatever date.
Awesome! I’ll get more specific details out soon!
You are one of my favourite flosstubers! Watched all of your videos from the day one ;) His Eye is On The Sparrow is one of my long term WIPs as well. I've started it in 2016 in a SAL with someone who finished a long long time ago lol. x
Aw thanks so much!
There is a spray you can get and spray on it. Crosshatch quilts on Flosstube shows it. She used it on one of her projects. Hawk Run looks good.
Oh I’ll check it out. Thanks!
I just found your channel and am really enjoying your content. When you asked if you can coffee/tea dye a stitched piece, I immediately ran to the comments to see what everyone said. I have the same question. I just finished a piece that I think would look much better grunged up. Since the consensus seems to be that you can do it, I'm going to screw up my courage and try it. Also, congratulations on your new house!
Thanks so much for watching! I’m excited to try some of these suggestions too!
Congratulations on the new home! I’m in Ohio too between Cle and Col. I’d love to Sal the teeny garden and I already have the book! In think Monday June 1st is perfect!
Awesome! I’m going to get some more specific details out soon!
Country Stitchers have talked about using an antiquing spray. I know they’ve used it on a couple of their finished projects. I love all of you’d organization. 😊
Thanks! I’ll check it out!
If you want to add color/modeling after done stitching you can use walnut dye. Check out "the Old Tattered Flag" she had a video on her facebook page about it.
Thanks! I’ll check it out!
✨✨✨
You could use your numbers to work out how many haeds you could stitch in a year lol
Oh man. Haeds are out of my comfort zone. I’d be sooooo overwhelmed!
Congratulations on 4000 subscribers & the new house! Those are some fantastic happenings. Thanks for all you do to encourage our community. I recently uploaded my 2nd video if youd like to stop by sometime (its short) No pressure though. Plenty of people to watch out here. Have a super day & stitch on!!
Oh I’ll definitely check it out!!
You could stitch a small square with some of the colors in your Hawk Run project and do a quick coffee/tea dip to see if you like the effect.
That’s a great idea - I have some pieces I’ve abandoned that might work just for that.
First of all, instead of drawing the symbols next to the floss, I number the floss and then put the numbers next to the symbol in the legend. I find it's easier to look at the numbers. Then, I punch holes on the other end of the card and put my leftover pieces of floss in those holes. That kind of keeps the colors together and I can see at a glance what I have. If this makes sense to you, try it. I stopped working on Seeking Refuge for now, since I'm working on Maynia.
Great tips! I often don’t have my symbol key out which is why I will sometimes draw the symbols. It’s definitely not something I do on all my cards.
Just found your channel...hope to get the book so i can stitch along. Your house has lots of character!
Awesome! Craft Gallery can always ship if you need it - since I know they have some!
I really enjoyed your video today. I'll have to go back and watch how you count your stitches. I really enjoyed seeing your WIPs and I am also doing The Great Pumpkin Conspiracy. I started it several years ago before I was on Facebook groups and You Tube videos so I didn't document the fabric type or floss and I used some fancy floss which I have no idea now what they are lol. I don't know how to post a pic on this comment space but will add one on Instagram.
Awesome! I haven’t seen that many people stitching it. What’s your Instagram name?
It's Craftygal43
You can totally grunge those up after you finish the stitching. That’s usually the way Stacy Nash has you age a piece - after you stitch it. Love your new space and your Maynia plan. I used Mulberry for my house since it’s a color already used in the piece on Sparrow.
Your new flosstube room is awesome! Enjoyed stitching with you tonight!
I love that brick wall behind you. I use floss away bags for my floss. Each project has a ring of bags.
Congratulations on the new house its so exciting. 77 WIPS blows my mind away but it sounds like you've got a lot done. I love the Nevermore piece. That is not generally my asthetic but I LOVE that piece. You are so organized I wish I had some of that. I enjoyed the 24 hour marathon it was my first and I wasnt able to do as much as I would have liked I really enjoyed what I did do. Look forward to the one in July... Christmas yheme sounds like a good idea for it not sure if that is what I will do yet or not. Tha nk you see you again.
There is "grunge" spray that you could use.
I'd love to join in on the SAL!
Awesome! I’ll check it out and glad you’re joining in!
Thank you for sharing your counting info. Love it. Makes so much sense!
So glad your back. I’d love to do a sal if I can find the book that is😂. Whoop Whoop to 4000 subscribers!!!
Yay! Check with Craft Gallery - they can always ship it out!
I bought my copy of Teresa’s book so that I can do the SAL with you. 👍🏻 I am like you and like to keep spreadsheets for all sorts of things. I might steal your idea for cross stitch.
Awesome!! I’ll put out the specific dates and things soon!
I have coffee tea dyed one project after it was stitched and loved the results. It was a quaker flag and the white became more rustic. Loved it.
That’s so good to know!
Love seeing your finishes and projects. I laughed when you said "I am Jen". I pictured a baby Groot type design but you holding thread and needle and a spreadsheet etc in your branches.
Haha! Love baby Groot!
Hi Jen, I did coffee tea dye my fabric mid stitching and I was very happy with the results.
Great to hear!
Congrats on the new home. I have no suggestions for the mac, I'm a PC user. Sorrry and good luck figuring things out. I think Teresa (Kitten Stitcher) has tea dyed a project after stitching was complete so you might want to message her about it. She might have some advice. Beautiful projects. I like your "Easter Egg" pumpkin. I think it's cute. I'm a Poe fan, too. I have lots of those patterns. I need to get the Lila's Studio one, though. I don't have that one.
Thanks - I’ll check into it!
Glad to see you settled in your new home. Happy stitching
Sore finger...couple of things you could try. I'm a quilter as well (when I find that stitching bug). In a pinch, I've used a band aid. A GOOD band aid...with a thick pad. You push the needle with the pad pushing the needle into the fabric. Another thing that is great to use is a leather thimble. There are all kinds of 'soft' thimbles. It's a try-them-out thing. Saves my middle finger when I hand quilt.
My mom has one of those and I tried it but my tension suffers a bit so I try not to!
@@quirksandstitches bummer...
