i agree w you Rose, obviously if he remember, then he will be part of the problem and probably facing serious charges again him too. So, it is very convenient for Mark J. not to remember specifically that night that Dr. Ford had told many even years ago, before all of this came up ...Now if FBI offer a deal to Mark J, maybe then he will remember more what happened w Dr. Ford and Kavanaugh...

    • @melissinha73

The Republicans do NOT want Marke Judge to testify because his book paints him and by extension Brett Kavanaugh who is depicted in his book as unsympathetic, belligerent characters. Because he is basically a co-conspirator in this incident one cannot expect him to corroborate Dr Ford’s testimony if it’s true, so it’s hard to rely be certain if his testimony is truthful because of the self-preservation bias. An interesting point that Dr Ford made about the other people present in the House is also very telling: the party itself would be unremarkable for people who did not know what happened upstairs and therefore would be unlikely to recollect this party among many. That could be said to some extent for Judge and Kavanaugh because parties like that were common place and inappropriate behavior was commonplace as well and therefore unremarkable.

Bret is an covert narcissist.. the mask finally fell. I grew up with a covert narcissistic parent. No one ever saw that rage but the kids at home... my parent was an angel to the community and friends. The religious piety persona, the generosity outside, the shyness and need to please to make good impression with those powerful or respectable to bask in others glory. I am not surprised that professional friends and colleagues never get to see it.

Seriously? She only knows when this happened by when Mark worked at Safeway? _That_ makes you believe her? No. If this happened to her at all, Kavanaugh or not, she would _know_ without a shadow of a doubt how old she was! She wouldn't have originally given a 5 year window! 'Oh, sometime between the ages of 15 and 20'... I don't even think so. Ask _any_ sexual assault or rape victim and I guarantee they will know how old they were when it happened!! And that's not even the only incredibly important thing that most survivors never forget, that she didn't know.
These people that believe her are either totally clueless, or they're intentionally blinding themselves to the truth. Probably never wanting him on the supreme court to begin with. This is just the perfect ammunition. The fact that these incredibly smart, succesful people believe her, is mind-blowing! Or, maybe they don't, and they're just claiming they do because again, they didn't want him on the supreme court before a word about this was ever said. This is such a sickening display of what has come to be typical political behavior, and an embarrassment for our entire country in front of the world.

I disagree, feeling cornered has nothing to do with guilt or innocence, it has more to do with being constantly attacked. It is extremely difficult to prove a negative and that is the position they put him in when they threw out guilty until Proven innocent. Think of how an animal will fight when backed into a corner by something bigger than he is. He will attack back with everything he has, that doesn't mean the animal was guilty, just fighting for his life. I would imagine that is how Kavanaugh feels right now.

  • @jasonch50

As an experienced judge, Kavanaugh was definitely a disappointment as he was rude, insulting, condescending and out of control, especially when he was supposed to be interviewing for a promotion. If anyone had performed the way he did during any interview would likely be asked to leave immediately. For someone who clearly could not contain himself under pressure and displayed such fiery temperament and demeanor, the question is whether he is good enough for a position in the highest court, or any court for that matter.

kavenaughs rage was not from a person falsely accused it was from a place of privilege, audaciousness and defiance..it was not i didnt do this as is his cloak would be, but it was actually-- i worked hard for the chance to be here at this point and these people have no right to dig so deep into the past over things i feel were buried and wish to be irrelevant factors present day...his tears for his daughter and family was not because of his innocence but because of the innocence he sees in her and that she would be exposed to the fact that her father was a monster during certain times in his life...his fight is for non-disclosure of his activities and not for his innocence... he is contemptuous of a minority side of the Senate blocking his career path and inadvertantly making him suffer consequences for his own actions-- actions that privileged folk feel privileged to notwithstand consequences for...the allegations would be devestating for those who love and care about a person to come to the realization of and the hard work to aspire to the elitist circles too much to lose, hence it would be telling that his disdain for the democrats in the senate, his rage and his lying under oath would be a warranted strategy for kavenaugh...he has nothing to lose by lying and putting on this charade..everything to lose if his allegations are corroborated...

for some reason they want to use the word gathering, call it what it's "a party". synonyms for gathering: assembly, meeting, convention, rally, turnout, congress, convocation, conclave, council, synod, forum; congregation, audience, crowd, group, throng, mass, multitude; informal get-together; formal concourse "she rose to address the gathering", "we are going to the family gathering". I don't see a party included listed as synonyms, I guess snobs use a hire form of a word to express a drunk in party.

Yes he would be upset about his family however as a judge (one of the highest respected profession for being intelligent, fair etc) you would think he would not behave this way in a formal meeting. I think it was a smoke screen.
And I said before whether guilty of the assault or not his behaviour, anger, disrespect etc only proves that he would not make a good supreme court judge. People crack under pressure and when cornered however again you would not expect this from a judge. Ford didn't behave this way. She was violated and was questioned whether it was true or not and criticized for not remembering details. She was calm and truthful even when it did not help her.

I too think that everyone's so focused on emotions. I'm a survivor of assault and while I found Dr. Ford's testimony moving, that wasn't what convinced me she was telling the truth. It was a seemingly unimportant statement she made, about wanting a second front door in her house. That struck me as an odd moment in her testimony and I think a lot of people at first didn't know what to do with that piece of information. But as she went on I realized that her trauma had manifested itself in this exact way. She was still obsessing over escape plans, as if she's in a state of being hyper alert till this day.
Someone who'd lie about a traumatic event would talk about something more relatable, like depression, anxiety, or something more commonly known like excessive washing habits, struggles with intimacy, physical contact or trustissues. But she chose something so odd and unfamiliar, like wanting a second front door. And I understood her way of thinking, because my brain was also conditioned by trauma and I often fail to make sense to people. But a second front door isn't just a goof, it's a metaphor for control. That aspect of her testimony convinced me she must have been assaulted and if she was assaulted, there is no way she doesn't remember exactly who it was and how it happened.

Insightful points of view from Mr Osler. He brings wisdom ,& calm to the mayhem. Come to mama! It's a shame Kavanaugh didn't get some advice from him before exposing that deep seated aggression of his for all to see.

"A judge with a good demeanor on the bench"

  • @christinaannabel
    @christinaannabel 5 лет назад

The interviewer asked if we should hear from Mark Judge. Of course, the FBI, the senators and the public SHOULD hear from Mark Judge and others (although a one-week investigation, though expedient for Republicans, is inadequate to fully probe the matter). But Mr. Judge is not an impartial party and, given that he was a close friend of Kavanaugh and that they both had issues with alcohol for years and display very poor judgement and behavior, Mark Judge can not be relied upon to tell the truth. If he is allied with the Republican party, then he will feel pressure to speak well of Kavanaugh regardless of whether Kavanaugh sexually assaulted Ford. Such people often pull ranks and take their lies to the grave. Integrity, honesty, truth, fairness and compassion are not of great importance to them. I still hope that Mark Judge tells the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Even the guy on the show says he did not see the behaviour that was alledged or even hear anything about it...i hope this case will change the system of hearings where the privacy of the victim is respected and things arent put in the public like with this case...no matter what, the democratic party made some bad choices when it came to the annonimity of the victim..

Cavanah said when asked about FBI investigation - whatever this senate committee decides - he knew it was not his place to ask for the FBI - it was up to the senate committee - guys don't obfuacate (The obfuscation might be either unintentional or intentional (although intent usually is connoted), and is accomplished with circumlocution (talking around the subject), the use of jargon (technical language of a profession), and the use of an argot (ingroup language) of limited communicative value to outsiders.) This whole witch hunt is just a big show trial by the media - be fair and just in your judgement for the same way you judge other will be how you yourself will be judged.
