    🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
    Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on RUclips yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthev... and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
    How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
    How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
    Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyro... The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
    How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
    Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
    Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyro...

    OMG! I tried these when the pattern came out, when I was returning to crochet after decades and only having made granny squares.
    I couldn’t do it!!! Just COULD NOT do it!! 😢 So off I went and tried lots of other things, including most of Robin’s patterns.Gradually adding to my experience.
    After trying the fantail mittens I gave these another go. Success!!!! Yay! I have also discovered, by trial and error, that one make of crochet hook makes a huge difference to me. Who knew!!
    I’m now in danger of disappearing down the rabbit hole of beautiful squishy yarns. 😮 😂. Such fun to be had!! Thanks again Robin. Love your patterns and your teaching style. X

    Trying this out with the Lion Brand Cotton-fetti, which is very, very loosely spun & therefore didn't work for a different project I got it for due to the splitting but it is working wonderfully with this simple pattern. Thank you so much for your patient & detailed instructions. I greatly appreciate them. You've most certainly taught me how to be a more thoughtful crocheter & it's helped my progress immensely. 😊

    Robin: And you do four more rows of that.
    Me: Okay let's go! *stops the vid and crochets four rows*
    Robin: Oops that was supposed to be three rows.
    Me: What
    Also the glove is indeed very generous in length, it stretches almost all the way up to my elbow LOL and I consider myself to be a person with quite long arms. Maybe it was the yarn? I used a different one. It fits beautifully though, after squeezing my thumb through, and I'm sure it will warm me up very nicely in the winter. Would definitely recommend.
    Also I used a 100g ball of yarn, used up about 3/4 for a single glove, if it helps anybody. It was yarn for a hook sized 5 (at least that's what I did it with, it wasn't written on the wrapping. It was for needles 4-5 though.)
    Thank you for the tutorial. I'll surely make a pair for my friend too, it will be a wonderful present!

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  4 года назад +4

      You can do a puff stitch decrease - you'll have a lot of loops but it's doable! Do a puff stitch in one space then don't finish it, move on and do a puff stitch in the next - yarn over and pull through the gazillion loops on your hook 😂 (I hope that makes sense!)

    Really love the pattern! However, I noticed that when I do the whole "slip-stitch into the next gap before starting a new round of puff stitches" part, it creates a seam sat spirals around the arm warmer since you always start/end one puff stitch over. I improvised to avoid that since I prefer a hidden seam that runs along the inner side of the arm warmer where the thumb hole sits, but I felt like my "technique" to do so was somewhat shoddy. Any idea how to create a nice, straight seam? =)

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  6 лет назад +2

      petrav.online hmmm it's difficult to avoid when going round and round in spirals HOWEVER, you could probably achieve a nice straight seam if you turned your work for each round (like for the thumb hole gap section) - I haven't tried it but in my head it seems that would work? 😅

Anyway I just have a quick question about the yarn you used in this video, not the gold even though its very pretty too, but the grey rainbow I've searched and searched for it , and I'm just wondering if its still available and the brand who makes and color name, and also if its available in the United States. I bought some other yarn to make these gloves but honestly I'm not in love with it and just really love the color you chose.. Hello! Quite new here (2 months crocheting)!
    Do you have a video explaining yarns properties (softness, dullness, itchiness ect) and categories (chunky, baby, self-striping, boucle, bulky, etc.)? What those yarns are better for, and how to choose the right yarn to use for a work compared to another one?
    For example.. if I have to make a shawl or scarf than I should use that yarn category with those properties, or to make gloves it's better chose this one instead of that one for those reasons.
    I know there are tons of different yarns and now that I want to craft Xmas gifts myself I don't know which one to choose.
    I know that might be a really long and difficult video to make but I'm sure it will help new crocheters a lot!
    Thanks in advance!
