The sadness I felt when the guy who had his beard shaved was trying his hardest to keep it together and try to explain it to her that if the roles were reversed, it'd be hell for him to pay, just for him to get giggled at like it was a small prank. To the dude who is yelling at his pregnant partner for getting food from her mom, are you jealous that she's getting food and you're not? My dude, her mom is not doordash. Is there a reason why you can't go the kitchen and make a sandwich, go pick up some fast food, or do a trip to the grocery store? Your partner's mom is just trying to help her daughter however she can during her pregnancy and it sounds like you're sitting in the corner pouting that you're not getting snacks or lunch delivered to you too.

She probably stayed because she knows he can track her down and become violent. That is the primary reason I stayed with my abuser for as long as I did. Leaving did, in fact, prove to be dangerous, but luckily he did respect the no contact order after going to jail. I was worried he wouldn't respect it (and some abusers do kill their victims over no contact orders), but he did. Abuse victims need way more resources so they can be protected when leaving.

I couldn't stop him when he was holding me by my hair and repeatedly punching me, I tore his shirt off and left him covered in these bruises where I was trying to get leverage against him. He did almost kill me.

Well said. What was the Doctor Who quote? “A good man never would.” I think too many confused people don’t understand the concept of toxic masculinity vs just plain masculinity. That we can love male strength and what a good man does with that strength, but that we don’t love when terrible things are justified in the name of masculinity. That can go for a lot of things, of course.

If you dont like something your partner is wearing, the only thing you can do is suggest. Not force. And for her to giggle and laugh over him being upset is just gross. How would she react if he shaved a giant chunk of her hair?
My husband grew a beard for a few years. I dont like him with facial hair. But its his body and his right to wear what he wants on it - just as I have the same right. We might say 'I like/dont like that (whatever)" to each other. But thats it. Its the persons whos body it is final decision.

10:18 yeah so as a teenager, i will say a couple of things relating to that story.
1 - having divorced parents can already impact your mental health, especially when you constantly see families that are all in one home and happy together. (even if you’re like me and have experienced separate homes most of your life.)
2 - If we tell you we don’t think we’re going to do well in an honors class, NO MATTER HOW GOOD WE ARE AT THE SUBJECT, do not force us. chances are that we will be right, because we know ourselves a hell of a lot better than you do.
3 - We’re not on our electronics as much as you think we are. It can take me personally HOURS to do homework because i have adhd and struggle to focus. a lot of teens struggle with the same issues (not necessarily adhd-related).
4 - If we open up about problems at school, you should NOT call them excuses. social life can affect mental health severely and thus spill over into academic life.
5 - do not dismiss our mental health. when that happens, we feel unimportant and unheard. and then we will internalize everything just because you dismissed us. and bam, it gets even worse because now we’re scared to say something.
6 - probably the most important. DO NOT SAY THAT YOU WANT THE BEST FOR US if you NEVER LISTEN. if you really want the best for us, you will listen to what we have to say. ask how we feel. consider our feelings.
just a message to parents out there so stuff like the video i timestamped doesn’t happen.

Not doing as well at honors and AP classes isn't always the kid's fault either. I got a C in calculus because the teacher didn't explain it very well. And wow, being average at advanced maths, how terrible. It sounds to me like she had depression. I had depression in high school and I struggled. I had school, I was in all the singing groups in school, my parents made me do another choral group outside of school, singing lessons, and a part time job, and in the fall I liked to be in the musical. I was exhausted and would not be able to handle that kind of work load as an adult. Kid's are routinely overloaded and held to higher standards than adults, and then treated like they are overreacting or lazy. If I had school (full time job), homework (part time job), and an actual part time job on top of that, I'd be tired and grumpy every day and not doing so well at work. Then they wonder why kids burn out in college as if they haven't been put through the wringer until then. I guess it would be different with parents who are actually supportive but I have no idea what that's like. My anxiety was through the roof living with my parents. And even when I lived on campus, I had to go home once a month, and my mom demanded that I call her every few weeks. Then they wonder why you go low contact as an adult, even though they're not likable as people and can't hold a normal conversation without complaining about what you're not doing well enough. So glad those days are long behind me.

I took an AP History class in high school and it was honestly one of my favorite classes and I did really well IN CLASS but I still barely passed. It was set up as a lecture/discussion based class and we had a small test either every Friday or every other Friday (it’s been a while so that part is a bit foggy). I understood the material and did well on the tests but that didn’t change the fact that 80-90% of our grade came from independent note taking which I’m apparently incapable of. I did all of the reading and was able to participate in discussions; even my teacher said he hated giving me such low grades because he knew I understood everything. Eventually, I started getting notes from a friend because this friend was very aware that I don’t have a note taking type of brain. So I passed but I wasn’t able to take AP Government the following year because the class style just didn’t work for me as the student.
That was my own choice, I really can’t imagine how poorly I may have done had somebody pressured me into taking the course.

About these fellers expecting their wives to cook while pregnant and sick or just after giving birth: DO THEY NOT LOVE THEIR WIVES AT ALL?!?! My mom was pregnant during quarantine and instead of having weird cravings, she would be too sick to eat most of the time and would have to try to think of something she might feel like eating, and then eat that for a week until she was sick of it. Rough times, especially with the pandemic going on. BUT MY DAD! He went out of his way to get her something she could eat. HE’D COOK IT HIMSELF IF HE HAD TO! We got those meal kits delivered and he, my sister, and I would do our best to cook them. Though I would have preferred if everyone had stayed out of the kitchen and let me do it (because of this I developed a hatred of cooking that I’m trying to get over), he still wanted to help!! He always wants to help! He goes out of his way just to bring her a coffee that she didn’t ask for but absolutely needs! He’ll come home from the store and my mom might mention something he forgot or something that just wasn’t on the list AND HE WILL ABSOLUTELY BE WILLING TO GO RIGHT BACK TO THE STORE!!! He’ll do ANYTHING FOR HER! WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THESE GUYS?!?! I don’t always get along with my dad, but it’s videos like these that make me remember what a green flag he is. 💚💚💚

@@KingOfDarknessAndEvilnot really, its just that bears are animals, and like most animals they won't attack out of nowhere with no reason at all unprovoked, giving peoole atleast some wiggle room to navigate safely. Which is not possible if you're unlucky enough to cross paths with a certain type of guy.
There is also the factor of what the risks are. In case of a bear you might die because it tried to eat you or because it defended its territory. If it was a certain type of human being you know for sure there will be some very bad stuff done first, just for the sake of doing it.
And if you were to live, in a bears case you would get patched up and generally get a lot of sympathy from being attacked by a wild animal, the bear in question might even be hunted and shot which isn't unusual. But in the case of a human being there's a lot of shame/victim blaming, and getting the help you want/need after an encounter is sometimes even impossible.

For me it was years of unaddressed issues my parents had passed down to me plus my particular personality and anxiety. Led to a very scared, jealous and selfish love coupled with no ability to advocate for myself properly. I felt like a cornered animal and in those years there was almost never a voice in my head - it was constant fight or flight mode… lots of flight leading up to explosive moments of fight when there seemed no other way out.
My wife asking for a divorce didn’t help me see the error of my ways, it was when she told me how afraid she was for our kids when I finally realized the horrors I was actually committing.
Two years later I am putting up the same kinds of boundaries for my dad and the shitty ways he acted towards me painfully reminded me of how I used to act. Controlling and manipulative tactics are often used when the person is afraid they won’t get what they want and they can’t accept that reality.
The main thing I try to tell others is there are very valid reasons why I or anyone else might treat people this way. It makes sense! But it absolutely does not make it okay and firm boundaries are important for both individuals.

And we aren’t talking about parents of a sociopath, or a parent whose ex has poisoned the child’s mind against them, or a parent whose kid grew up and embraced some bias that made them turn away from their parent… no, this guy makes it sound like somehow his good, good girl was always hard to get along with and is now a delinquent for not being able to handle crushing pressure, bullying, a break-up and parental rejection. He’s basically blaming her for their bad relationship.

It's amazing that he's mad at her for not getting good grades in an honors class that she already told him she wouldn't be able to keep up with. He literally forced her into a position where her grades would be worse as a consequence of her being put in a harder class and somehow she's the one who's getting punished for it. Even if she wasn't dealing with bullying, a breakup and suddenly being pushed into the custody of a parent she already didn't get along with, suddenly being put in a far more advanced class than the one you were already excelling in is obviously going to cause grades to suffer a little bit, I don't understand his logic.

I took honors and ap classes. I got a C in calculus. My parents were pissed. But they didn't ask why and just assumed I was lazy. Actually the teacher was new and not very good at explaining the math so I didn't really understand it. But being average at calculus doesn't even sound like a bad thing. Also, I was offered an honors program at my college. My parents really wanted me to join and I definitely did not want to because I knew I couldn't keep up with it for four years. I talked to someone in the program. She said not to join because they kept changing the requirements and the workload was too high. My parents were mad that I didn't join, but it wouldn't have been worth it. After I graduated, I went to teach English in Asia. All of that extra effort would have been worthless. If you need excellent grades to get into a certain college, then by all means, get the best grades possible and take weighted courses. Otherwise, just get decent grades so you can graduate, no pressure necessary.

5:34 hi. I take care of one those “old ladies in a wheelchair” you speak of (my triplegic mother). The REASON wheelchair bound people need to go first and have those big parking spots (with the diagonal lines people LOVE to park on instead of giving the wheelchair bound person the LOADING ZONE they need to get in and out of their vehicle for) is not only for their safety, but for YOUR safety as well. And not only is it for safety, it’s to save EVERYONE time. It is FAR easier and faster for EVERYONE to have someone who needs A LOT OF SPACE to do something as simple as take a seat on a plane to go first so they have the adequate room and distance away from other people to not only fit in that space, but so their equipment doesn’t injure that baby of yours (or anyone in the area of their seat). Same goes for parking in a parking lot. Not only do they need the space to get in and out, you don’t want a wheelchair ramp plowing through your driver door, now do ya?
Anyone who complains about the MINIMAL courtesies handicapped people get in this world that is NOT built for them can use those 2 healthy legs of yours and TAKE A HIKE!

I’m so sorry you have to live with that. You don’t deserve it. Parents sometimes don’t seem to realize how hard it is to push their kids away, and still they manage to do it. Kids want to love their parents. You have to be actively awful to damage that.
My daughter has friends with parents who seem to love their achievements more than they love their children, and it pisses me off to hear it. They’re wonderful kids, as I’m sure you are. The only bright spot is that sometimes they get scholarships and once they get a degree and a job, they can get out, get therapy, go no contact and decide for themselves what they want to achieve.
It’s not a super happy thing to look forward to, but if a parent won’t treat you right, you kinda have to give yourself the love and care and acceptance they aren’t giving you. And hopefully you find friends who do love you for who you are.

Edit, adding a FAQ, because I keep getting replies.
      1. Very important to mention this first. The original commenter I replied to literally used the Trump Jr Skittles analogy. It's hard to differentiate between the people here and racists/homophobes when both of you use the same terrible analogy. In a similar vein to the original, I'll counter by saying that men aren't candy, men are people.
      2. There is this weird double standard where people here agree wholeheartedly that judging someone based on some genetic dice rolls is terrible, but with other genetic dice rolls it's considered fine? Doesn't quite sit right with me to judge anyone based on stuff they can't do anything about. I don't view existence as a hostile action, and people from all sides have a problem with that.
      3. This might just be me, but I feel like some of this is kinda TERFy? Like, some of these replies give me that bad taste that TERF comments leave, the "IT was born with an XY chromosome, in the name of the wall mold I deem IT untrustworthy" kinda bad taste. I got a feeling some of y'all are having some interesting feelings towards Imane Khelif's existence.
      4. Just to clarify my general political stance, I am left-wing in general. I'm voting blue team leader HarrisWalz 2024, because P2025 is all of our nightmares combined into one dangerous doc and HarrisWalz is directly opposed to it and then some. I've spelled it out plenty, but I'll just go ahead and say that I classify myself as egalitarian, which gets me in trouble with both sides. I don't see the benefit of making someone feel bad about stuff they can't change, and to the annoyance of both sides that goes for any such attribute, because a person can't do anything about any such attribute (i.e. it's unreasonable to expect someone to stop being hispanic to escape racism).
      5. I'm very against negatively comparing human beings to inhuman creatures, I still remember a time about 2 years ago when I was called "muttspanic" and many other racial epithets in an argument on this platform and at this rate it's gonna be a long time before I forget it. It's gross and we should stop doing it for any and all reasons. If your argument involves negatively comparing a group of human beings to an inhuman creature on the basis of their (gender/orientation/race/sex), then I'm not gonna feel like agreeing with you because by doing that you have crossed a line morally and I'm not obligated to agree with someone who uses such arguments. If no negative comparisons were made between human beings and inhuman creatures, I wouldn't have even left my first reply.
Hope that clears some things up for people replying to me in the future. FAQ over, returning to the original comment:
I'd choose the man, 10 out of 10 times. For the same reason that I'd choose the gorilla in the "would you rather be stuck in a mall with a gorilla or 7 big snakes" thing, random primates are more negotiable than random murder beasts. Also, we both know that if you had to escape a burning building and your options were an elevator with a bear and an elevator with a random guy, you'd choose the random guy because you're not dumb.

Also, the bear thing: a bear will pretty much always have am actual reason to attack me. Ie: i was threatening its territory somehow, or messing around too close to its cubs
A bear wont attack me because my skirt was short, or because i had a couple drinks. A bear wont pin me down and tell me to just relax. A bear wont punch me because i was talking to another bear at the grocery store or something.
If im alone in the woods with a bear, i know ill morre than likely walk away unscathed. If im alone in the woods with a man, i will be terrified the entire time until im able to get back somewhere where there's people because im more than likely going to be attacked for being out there alone.
Men that dont understand why we would choose the bear probably are exactly the type of men we'd choose the bear over..

The guy talking about the bear thing and saying women will probably never walk past a bear is hilarious to me, a woman who literally opened her tent while camping and saw a bear standing 4 feet from her and screamed so loud she work everyone up in a 14 mile radius. And that wasn't even the first time I'd seen one out camping!
And as much as the event unnerved me, I highly doubt that I could scare a man up a tree just by screaming like I did to the bear that night. 😂

16:05 "literally anyone wearing a backpack gives me the ick." That sounds like a you problem, lady.. Other people's clothing, general appearance or behaviour isn't yours to criticize or dictate (exceptions being wildly inappropriate cases, like someone with their genitals out and about in the middle of the city).
And a backpack.. what's wrong with a backpack? It's the most normal thing to use when you have to carry stuff around (though I personally prefer shoulder bags). Totes are annoying when you walk around longer, since you have to readjust them so much.

One of my exes used to monitor my instagram cause he was insecure about other guys. I had a hard boundary about sharing passwords(he definitely asked though), but he could still see my likes, comments, and follows and would "research" every account I interacted with. It was annoying, especially when he'd bug me about _how do you know so-and-so, who's that guy in this picture you liked,_ etc but I've been cheated on before too so I knew it could make you act a little crazy for a while. I figured if I just answered his questions he'd calm down and realize I was trustworthy. Silly me! One time a complete stranger followed me, some guy whose page was full of pictures of his dog, family, and GIRLFRIEND. This dude couldn't have looked like less of a threat, but I guess because he was generically good-looking my ex felt threatened so he flipped out and hurled his phone at the wall. AND THEN- he asked if I could loan him some money so he could replace the phone he just smashed in a jealous rage! Lol, goodbye sir.
