Great video. Really inspiring to see you fish with great narration and theory behind what and why you are doing what you are doing. The way you handle fish as well is exemplary, quick to the net, careful handling , straight back, no damage done.
Great to highlight Mallon & Green in Bakewell. Great team there and a great way to start the day with a bacon butty while you have a look round - see ya soon Andy.
Good to see you back Andy... my suggestion for some content would be to get yourself out on some other rivers. Would love to see you on the Tees, Eden etc.
Iain Fraser.:- good to see you doing some posts again and hope the house is all finished and the dog is getting you and IB trained. I like the idea of using the indicator but our latest match rules say that it cannot be moveable so its going to need to be tied on like a dropper. I am on the Dee next Saturday and will take some indicators but like always it depends on what the level and run off is like. Keep up the good work and as always tight lines.
Well it might have taken you 2 days to make the video, but it took me 3 days to finish watching it. I got so inspired by the first half on Saturday afternoon that I thought to myself, why am I watching fly fishing when I could be doing it! So I hit pause and dragged my youngest son out to Asaph Run - a Class A Brook Trout stream near me. The ice was finally off the road (had to abandon last weeks attempt) so I was able to drive in there. Unfortunately we have had almost no precipitation and the creek was very low and very clear. No fish in sight! I know they are in there but they are not ready to come out of hiding yet with water temps just above freezing and still some ice on the edges. We basically scouted the stream for a couple of hours before we called it a day as Sam was getting cold. Most of it is shallow fast riffles, but we found a lot of nice pools with some very fishy looking seams to come back to when the fish are more lively. Thanks for getting me fired up for the season Andy!
First comment ! Great to see you out Andy. The trout season has actually begun on some of our rivers in the south of the country, I can't wait to get out this week
So good to have one of your videos to watch and very much enjoyed it. As usual your video was real fishing; the good, the bad & the ugly 😊.. It was your two ‘how to euro nymph’ videos that started me on the euro nymphing. Not done much indicator fishing but may try it on the Wye when I am there this week. Good to speak briefly to you & IB at the BFFI . Look forward to the next video. Thanks
Super video as ever. So great to see you back on the channel, Andy. Thanks for sharing the update on what's been happening on the home front. Looking forward to seeing your new videos.
Loving the honesty Andy and can’t wait for the new season updates. Not the same but similar, pike jigflies depending on build will drop so very different 😮
Hi Andy, Good to see you standing in a cold river again! What dry rucksack is it that you are using? I need one to carry a day's worth of junk (25 ltr-ish).
Hey guys first off another awesome video your videos are one of my favorites to watch,, but what happened to the clothing and other merchandise? I was going to order a shirt but it's not there anymore.
Brilliant, well done Andy! I’ve been looking forward to seeing this video and it really didn’t disappoint! I’m definitely going to give it a go at some time once I’m able to drag myself away from fly fishing
Great to see you back on the river, yet again another great video, I found it very educational as I would have probably stuck with the euro rod. Looking forward to your next video tight lines Len.
Brilliant stuff, just what I need to see, technique, what kit is in use and actual fishing without the hard sell, love the pictures of the flys in use. Just honest fishing. Absolute winner
Hi, I'd really like to try fly fishing, going to try it on the river Dove, what sort of rod and line would you recommend? Your advice would be a massive help as I know you fish the Dove a lot.
After watching your tying demonstration of the Duracell nymph some 3 years ago, I have been trying to source the body material (UV nymph-it) ever since but to no avail. Could you possibly tell me what you use as an alternative. Thanks
Hi Kevin, yes, the company which made Nymph-It went bust. Textreme Body UV in 05-uv brown is very similar. A little more fine than NI but it does a great job
Definitely density wins over weight. Weight means nothing really, a ten pound bag of feathers isn't going to sink, so density is definitely the thing. In my opinion, even adding lead underbodies does more harm than good by increasing the volume without increasing the density significantly.
Good to see you back in the river.
Explaining your tactics and reading the pools to locate Grayling is priceless information.
Many thanks.
I didn't do a great job of locating them this time peter!
Great vid as per Andy 👍🏻

Thanks Andrew! We try our best to let you know what we're doing and why! Much appreciated, tight lines! 🎣

Who could refuse a bacon butty on a cold morning ☺️
Hi Andy, Great to see you back. Ever thought of a 'trotting' video, if that's a style you ever fish?
I bought a centrepin two years ago to do just that, it's not been used yet!
Great video Andy :)
Good to see you back Andy... my suggestion for some content would be to get yourself out on some other rivers. Would love to see you on the Tees, Eden etc.
YES. YES. YES. Exactly what I want to do this season, thanks for the message!
Great fishing action!
Glad you enjoyed

How strange, any idea why they've ruled that?
Nice to see you out again!
Thanks Tom, will try to get out with the cameras a bit more!
nice to see you out on the river.
Thanks Nic! It's nice to be out and do some fishing myself

Great stuff Tom, you won't catch them watching me flog around!
Great stuff, as always, mate. Good to see you out with the cameras again.
Hopefully catch up on the bank one of these days... 👍🎣
I'm always amazed we don't bump in to each other more often!
Nice to see you again, good luck with your new house.
Thank you Robert!
Just tied the indicator rig this week, so great timing, Andy! Off to the Doveridge to give it a go.......
Hope you enjoy it!
Good to see you out and enjoying yourself.looking forward to many more videos. Tks
More to come!
Good to see you back out. I’ve had days when I’ve struggled to find them - usually in the last swim with 15 minutes of the day left! 😁
I wish that had been the case this time bud! Thank you!
First comment ! Great to see you out Andy. The trout season has actually begun on some of our rivers in the south of the country, I can't wait to get out this week
Very lucky! We still have to wait a bit, but tight lines pal

thanks bud, and thank you for saying hi at the show too! Tight lines for this week, let us know how you get on!
Really enjoyed the video Andy. A very interesting day’s fishing with some lovely fish.
Cheers Roger!
Great video thanks Andy!
Cheers Phil!

Thanks Stephen!

are you keen on a chuck for a grayling bud?
@@IBandAndyFishing I still haven’t chucked a fly yet Sadly, is the season for them out soon?
Hi Andy, Good to see you standing in a cold river again! What dry rucksack is it that you are using? I need one to carry a day's worth of junk (25 ltr-ish).
thanks Alistair, it's the Scierra WP Dry Rucksack, I like it because it's very light, and I'm putting my DSLR in it so I trust it!
Hey guys first off another awesome video your videos are one of my favorites to watch,, but what happened to the clothing and other merchandise? I was going to order a shirt but it's not there anymore.
Hi Bill, that's really strange, I just checked and I can see it on a few different browsers, maybe have another look?
Brilliant, well done Andy! I’ve been looking forward to seeing this video and it really didn’t disappoint!

Thanks for watching buddy!
Great video Andy, nice to see a good video on indicator method. I use it regularly on the Dove, and it's devastating.
Can't beat it at this time of year when the water is cold!
Nice one, cheers!
Thanks Pete
What float set up do you have on there Andy? And how do you rig them?
Brilliant stuff, just what I need to see, technique, what kit is in use and actual fishing without the hard sell, love the pictures of the flys in use. Just honest fishing. Absolute winner
Thanks Pete, we really appreciate it!
Great to see you back. Short lobs when using foam indicators was a bit of a revelation to me. Hope you do an early season trip to the Usk this year.
I'll deffo be down on the Usk early season, I love that stuff!
Nice dude👌🥂
Cheers Pavle!
Hi, I'd really like to try fly fishing, going to try it on the river Dove, what sort of rod and line would you recommend? Your advice would be a massive help as I know you fish the Dove a lot.
Hi John, as an all rounder I'd go for a nice mellow actioned 9' 4# rod, nothing too stuff/fast
Hi Andy what is your euro set up
Hi Rhodri, me made a video called "my top grayling rigs" , it's all in there bud
Andy your indicator rod is what?. Been looking for a long rod but when approaching dealers they think it for euro nymphing I want to use a fly line
I'm using a 10' 4# Scierra brook here, but you can't get them any more I'm afraid!
Great video again Andy. Can I ask what indicator you used?
Cheers Luke! There's a link in the description to how I make these indicators
Andy do you know anything about the new Sage Sense Euro nymph rod?? 🎣
I'm afraid not bud no, I've never even seen one

Two weeks on the welsh Wye and not a touch for anyone fly fishing.
crikey, that is tough!
@@IBandAndyFishing Wye and Usk catch reports + other data inputs.
Where’s the link andy to the indicator can’t seem to find it
I'd like to access it too.
