Man, only if the downtown had huge trees on each side of the road it would set this city off!

We are moving to Springfield in spring of 2025 to care for our mom. We are going to check it out next spring.
We have condos at Lake of Ozarks and Branson that will make it more fun!
It’ll be a huge change from central Florida.

Springfield looks like the kind of small city I would consider relocating to, once I'm ready to retire... The Ozarks region and Branson being nearby is icing on the cake!

Ozarks in Arkansas are way better. You should consider Fayetteville or Rogers Arkansas

@@SteelMase - Ick! While NW AR is more progressive than the rest of the state, it's traffic bound and not all that friendly...

It's charming,I like it! Not too far from Branson also! I wouldn't be bored there coming from a smaller town in West Virginia.

Springfield is not a dump. Parts of it is rundown like all cities. It is a GREAT place to live.

I’m guessing you meant John Goodman instead of John Ashcroft when mentioning stars? Bob Barker was also from here

I actually meant to say "notable people" instead of "notable actors" but didn't catch that in editing! Thanks for watching.

You guys completely missed the campus' of Drury University and Missouri State University. They both have beautiful, safe campus' with lots to do. In addition, Branson and the 3 large lakes are only 30 minutes away. You also should have checked out Wilson's Creek National Civil War Battlefield. There's so much you missed, you need to do a 'Part 2'.

Thanks for watching. Our videos usually focus on the downtown areas of the cities we visit (although our personal travels take us elsewhere). In this case, we saw both colleges and some of the outlying areas. 🙂

The NW corner of Springfield on Division St and even Commercial St can be pretty bad, but there are some beautiful old neighborhoods and some serious money in the area. I drive in (and around it) every day and I've never felt the least bit threatened. Although, I wouldn't hang around downtown on a Fri, Sat night...

It's cheap to live here but has its own problems, which are difficult to describe. If you want a quiet life in the suburbs, this place is for you, especially the south side. I don't like it much, no real culture, concrete restaurant. We have a drug problem here due to poverty, and yes, it is cheap to live here but there are other reasons. Springfield is starting to consume small towns around us, however. If you want a really nice place to live that doesn't change and where people are mostly kind, go to Rolla, Missouri. The only thing we have going for us now is the Aquarium. Why didn't you go there?

I will never live here, I have visited and SF is a DUMP. Unsurprisingly, you didn't share all the derelict and empty buildings downtown, or the downtown homeless/druggies hanging out on the precious "Square."
