Paul Gilbert Yes, that’s true. Mario and Luigi feel like Laurel and Hardy in the games. Luigi is Laurel, fooling around, whilst Mario is Hardy, watching him and rolling his eyes. They balance each other out. If it was only Luigi, the game would be unfocused. If it was only Mario, the game would be boring.

Mario probably came up with the idea because Luigi had been perfecting his Peach impression. Luigi would be mad at this because this meant Mario was poking around Luigi's diary again
And in the 3DS remake, Luigi also had to use a pair of paint cans to appear taller in his disguise.
Sometimes when I play those Mario & Luigi games, at some moments I want to give Luigi a hug... Especially when playing Partners in Time...
Luigis mansion may have fleshed out on Luigis personality, but the mario and luigi games expanded it. Luigi has easily become one of my favorite nintendo characters ever
