It’s amazing how little items have changed over the years. I carry modern versions of almost everything you showed when I go deer hunting, hard to justify carrying more gear when you’re within eye site of your vehicle or camp.
The binoculars are actually non-prismatic field glasses. At that time France was one of the largest producers of them. They are low power but very bright and robust with a wide field of view, usually.
Made game bag got nice plastic liner cloth jeans outside with hunter orange stripes . Easter clean. Wouldn't leave it behind even vintage safety first keep game clean up simple can.
Small boo boo kit .3 myylar blankets cheap poncho. 55 gal drum liner . Fire kit .it has matches a bic and tinder plugs and fat wood tiny fishing kit . And tp a canteen of water
New Bern cup boy scout two quart canteen. Had wooden one but it got old not been able replace getting old 50s my two old enough fifties think .got metal cap.
Remember small game hunting in the 30s.....model 42 winchester 410s my grandfather has one and let me carry it as a kid. Lots of rabbits squirrel dove and quail...it ruined 410s for me...i must have one of my own lol
410 is hard to find on the shelves here for the past couple of months. I've been keeping an eye out in prep for the season. I have recently come across copper jacketed 45 Colt on the shelf finally, I about fainted. Bought a box, I wish I had the scratch to get 2 more!
@@honorableoutfitters the increased ammunition price shocked me lol. I moved from Illinois to Montana with a decade in the military in between. Where I live in Montana there are no notable squirrel population, cottontails are scarce and only a few Hungarian partridge. I hadn't bought shotgun shells since 2002...surprise they aren't 5 bucks a box anymore. Our elk season starts on the 28th and I better not miss or I will need a cosigner to buy another box of rifle ammunition. Really enjoy your channel. A friend and I are planning a 1930s elk camp next fall, as period correct as possible with the exception of orange hunting vest and tent stove. Should be fun. Canvas, steel, wood, wool and leather.
I like to carry a big chocolate bar. Nowadays it has to be sugar free. But you could buy the really large ones in most stores. I might take cookies as well for the mug up. Maybe a couple of slices of Logan Bread. I know most of the writings say 1950s but I have heard that it comes from an older British recipe. Candy bar is for nibbling but the cookies or any quick breads are for mid morning and mid afternoon mug ups. Quick breads became common when baking powder became common in grocery stores in the late 20s and early 30s. Which is the same time Bisquick hit the market which was 1931.

Everything an antique nerd needs.
There's always more, the rabbit hole is deep, lol
I take some food. A Spam and cheese sandwich is an example.
Lol, I never cared for SPAM. We had it pretty regular growing up, I think my taste buds got burned out on it.
Are ypu guys going to be filming this hunt? That could be a really cool collaborative video topic.
We are!

Cookies aren't a bad idea!
You wouldn't wear those lanyards in the open in a deep East Texas squirrel hunt.
Hope you have a great hunt.
Thanks brother! Are the brambles high there? If they are too thick I won't bother. I try to find a way around.
