Since many questions are about how I train my birds, here's the video I made about that.
ruclips.net/video/otkRhLiK-CY/видео.html
But it works for me and I don't think you should attempt it. I do it with the babies that hatch in my breeding while I hand feed them, and I live in an appropriate area.
Enjoy and subscribe! 😁🐔
Yea if I had one I wouldn't ever pull a stunt like that cuz I'm sure that any bird that I had would take off make a left turn and that would be all she wrote!!
WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT ARE THEY SAFE?
Bbg
That is the poofiest Cockatiel I have ever seen.
Perhaps she's pregnant. :3
its fat
I think it's because it's a pearled cockatiel I'm not sure
+Sean Lightning, Pearls after childhood only appears in female cockatiels. So technically you're not wrong, if she's getting ready to lay an egg.
Maybe its a bit cold for them? If its a bit chilly birds puff up to keep hot air under/between the feathers I believe. Might be wrong tho
My anxiety kicked in like I was freaking out the whole time. My birda would not come back holy crap
then he doesn't like you enough
OR you just don't trust him
I think most birds would love to take a fly and then return to their owner, the problem is that if they never flew outside they get overstimulated when they are high in the sky, then they panic and freak out.. so they are not able to return even if they want to.

their trust level must be sky high that makes them come back to you!
It is dangerous as falcon eat them . They Love them as meal.i had the most amazing trusting loving tiel who flew free but wanted to go nowhere else than be with me after a minute of flight.but one day ditting on the electric cable we making our special call he fly up to land on my shoulder and was snatched out of the air.Thats how my free flying friend came to his end.
So i never let my new friend 5 yrs later free outside. Nomather how my heart longs for it. As it is too dangerous. And yes, these birds can Love you, bond with you in full trust if you listen to them and really see them., so so special and an honour.

don't you worry about hawks or something carrying them off?
not too much, I feel like my neighborhood is full of birds way slower and less watchful than these two..
they fly away like crazy about anything approaching
angry eggnog hawk gurru hacker
Lol
i was thinking the same :] its dangerous to do... but they know where they're home is ^^
I think it might be a risk worth taking, as they obviously know how to come back to their person, and look what a full life they have! I have known many cockatiels left to a life stuck inside a tiny cage.
well for me, i dont really worry, because in my area, there arent any hawks at all! so let em fly for a while sometimes
That is absolutely the coolest thing I've ever seen! I tried this with landlords Cockatiel about 3 years ago and it all went side ways very quickly LOL he flew 25 miles away before my lost pet post on social media responded about 4 days later. I'm not sure who was happier to see each other again but He's back and he loves me almost as much as I love him.
They are screaming so loud they are so happy!
Oh my goodness I literally had a heart attack when they starting flying around mine would just be like “byeeeeeeeee”
I love this! 😭 When I was little I had two budgies in a huge cage. They were so lovely and had a funny personality. And one day my parents carried the cage outside to do some painting inside when suddenly the cage door fell open and one of my budgies flew away. I was so heartbroken and cried all day. 😢 I wish I could have done this.
what a wholesome video. love seeing your birds flying free and your doggies rolling around too!
I love how the female kept on calling the male to come back
This is so cool that you can let your birds do this, they seem so happy
One word. ADORABLE 😝
Is misread this as " Trained Cockatiels Free Fight"
I was still impressed
The shrieks of joy! So pleasing to hear. That one cockatiel looks so fat, I can't believe how they fly. Congrats on the trust and TRAINING.
The other cocktail called for the other cocktail that was still flying
We had one too and my Dad could walk into the Garden doing stuff and he would sit on his shoulder. Thats pure Love and trust to and from a Bird
That's awesome that you can do this!!! I live in an apartment, so I know my bird would freak out from all the loud noises and cars and never come back. She only gets out in a harness or travel cage and she does enjoy flying with the harness, although she hates the harness itself! Love hate relationship lol
the amount of trust and loyalty in this is absolutely amazing
屋外でオカメインコを自由に飛ばして手元に戻って来るものなの❓ なんか、凄い❕
My bird would never listen like this Lol. There so cute by the way 😊😁
They remind me so much of totoro and little totoro... the way they're puffed up, the color gray, how one is smaller than the other, so adorable
They are both SOOOOO ADORABLE AND CUTE AND THATS ONE FLUFFY AND POOFY BOI HES THE MOST CUTEST THINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN AND THE OTHER ONE TOO MY HEART IS MELTING
I see, you have both the birb, and the *borb*
That’s respect! If they didn’t want to come back, you understand. You give them their right to go outside. I love it. Thank you for being a great pet owner!
Until u understand if that bird gets lost it will starve to death these parrots are not built for these areas they are housed
RUclips recommended this to me and i don't regret any second of it.
:O i was a bit freaked out at first, but not only are they careful not to stray too far and return when called, they also really seem to enjoy them selves

I thought this video was already perfect because of these two adorable birbs, but when i saw two fluffy bois on the background enjoying their life i was like 'there is no limit for perfection"
My anxiety was sky high during this video, I could never 😧 very cute.
The cockatiels are so happy outside flying that they were constantly chirping! That is adorable I wish I had a cockatiel but I dont like encaging animals (birds)
1:06 if you are wondering, that bird started to do high pitched whistling to get the other one back
My IQ fell down bro. İt's litteraly the guy using whistle gear.

Thats so cool.
How do you have the confidence that they will return? lol nice training you gave them. Thumbs up
Aww they're so cute! I love cockatiels so much!!!
They look so fluffy!
He have a better relationship to his bird than me and my girlfriend
wanna talk?
I would love to see a video, or read a blog from you, about how you got your birds to this point. How long have you cared for birds? How long have you let them have free flight? Has anything bad ever happened? How long did you train them before letting them away from you outside? Love the video
Cute dogs playing at the back ground
I like how they do a little warm up stretch before the flight
Aaaa look at them!!!!
Wherever you live it is absolutely beautiful.
☺️☺️ And your birbs are so cute.

I love the fluffier ones mutation😍 adorable!
How wonderful that they get a chance to fly and they come back. Amazing. They love the owner.
Really impressive~ Even my dog doesn't really come back when i call him...
I did this to my birds...
They never came back
Same
Not same
@JebaydenSmith exactly my thoughts
@JebaydenSmith yup
And that’s why you have to train them to come back... people please don’t just bring your untrained birds outside with no harness or anything.
I'm glad they came back!!!
I have a rainbow lorikeet. He refused to fly outside. He perch on my shoulder and I'm his mode of transport. He only like to fly indoors. Sometimes he doesn't even want to fly. He makes telephone sounds, give signals and I just take him wherever he wants to go. I've mastered the arts of charades 🤣
ur a birb master
How’d you go about doing recall training? And how long did it take till you were that comfortable taking them out?
At first I recalled them and when they casually returned I rewarded with tasty food and scratches :) in very few time they realize the cause effect and the response time decreases drastically. I use a whistle cos it reaches farther and makes always the same sound. It took some weeks to let them learn the whole area around the house, starting before they had learned to fly.. basically they grew outside.
The grey-white one is beautiful! 😍
They are so cute!
That is literally what I planned to do with my birds when they're gonna grow older :D
So we're just gonna ignore the White dog eating the German Shepard at 01:16? OK then.

The birds are like FREEEEEEEEEDDDDDOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!!!
It’s funny how they go crazy and get so excited yet they never ran away.
Oh my that is a CHONKY cockatiel! I've never seen anything like this!
yaaaaaaaaay
is this doable for anyone that raises them from chicks?
I don't think so, it has not been easy at all and it requires some backgrond.. i'll make a video about it when i have time.
TielZone please make a video! My cockatiel actually flew away and it was very traumatic for me. If I get another one I want to be able to do this.
it really depends on the birds. you dont necessarily have to raise them from chicks, but some birds just won't do it. it always requires a lot of time and patience and research though, and only taking them outside when you're 100% sure they know the drill. birdtricks.com has some really good tutorials and tips for flight training, they go on vacation with their birds all the time just so they can give them the chance to fly around in all kinds of places
NO. They are the fastest flying birds on the planet and MOST times once they taste freedom it scares them and they just keep flying until exhausted...a long way from where they started. I know, I went thru it and lost my beautiful friend (an accidental escape).
@C. Buck Hyres It's IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to comprehend their intelligence and love unless you have had the blessing to live it.
Such pretty birbs!
Those birbs r adorable
How do u train ur cockatiels to do that plz make vid on it. 😋😋
I just laugh at all these comments they're so funny and cute my birb Fred's lost his sister 6 years ago he's 17 now I'm pretty old I don't think I could live another 17 years to give him another friends I had his parents and hand-fed Fred and Ethel Ethel was a darling r i p pretty girl sweetie

How come the one on the left was so big? Besides it’s puffed up feathers that is
Lindsey Huynh hacks
i think the one on the right is younger, doesn't look like she has all her crest feathers in yet.
The one on the left is an adult, and the smaller one is a baby. Notice the yellow & white face and the orange cheek patches are not fully developed.
he was a full grown male, the other looked like a female tbh, ive had a few and the females always have that small build and adorable, friendlier looking face

Its too risky for them. A wild bird or even a cat can catch them.
Tremeslay yes I'm sure they're aware
Tremeslay yeah a cat is gonna leap that far into the air and snatch him a little snack
Some Birb HAHAHAHAHA L E A P
Well pet birds or domestic birds generally cant fly long distances and needs to stay on top of something. Also it doesnt means cats will catch them jumping at 20m high. It can happen everywhere everytime. They can even catch your bird while sitting on your hand. You never know.
Tremeslay well these guys can fly normally as they've been flying since they were able to
They look so cute all fluffed up
Studies show that the floofiness level of a bird is directly related to their adorableness
They are best friends forever!
Love this you let them fly sometimes and not gagged
They are so cute!!!
They’re so beautiful
