Hey everyone, thank you so much for watching! Check out my RUclips channel for more videos where I try to make plant-based livin' and sustainability cool 😎
I thought the same for both 50 minutes and 5 hours grilled cheese plus these are both excellent meal prep ideas. You get the different types of cheese, the soup, the bread and you can freeze it and use it throughout the week for other recipes too.
I made the 5 minute for a quick dinner, added the herbs in the food processor + some pepper, cumin, garlic and onion powder and it was soooooo good. It’s now going to be a quick go to for when I’m lazy and don’t want to cook
@@margotm1852 it doesn’, especially if you season it well and once you add the tomatoes, you can’t tell. I have to say I’ve made it on toasted sourdough and regular sand which bread and it was 100000 times better on the sourdough- regular bread is just too soft.

I actually made all of these btw. The 50 minute grilled cheese was probably my favorite tasting. The 5 hour one was a lot of fun! It took me about 4 hours actually.
I didn't know how to make the 5 minutes grilled cheese befor I watched this one, a delicacy that worth a try. Have a healthy beautiful weekend to you all my friends.
I'm with you, if I were to do this again in my own time and on my own dime, I would just go straight for making the cheeses (and maybe that avo salad)... okay and the soup
10:05 I think Merle meant to say Arborio Rice instead of Arborito, for those of you who are gonna try this recipe. Well done Merle! I might try making your smoked gouda, looks freaking delicious!
Hey everyone! If you want a less dense bread you can use a kitchen aid with a dough kneading tool. The longer it kneads the more gluten development you'll get. I suggest letting the machine run for about 7 to 10 minutes and then letting it proof. You'll know when the bread is ready to remove from the mixing machine when the surface is just slightly tacky and springy and it will pull completely away from the sides. Merle's method is excellent if you want a quicker bread with less fuss, but definitely chuck it in a mixer with a dough attachment to get that lovely chewy gluteny bread consistency.
@Pastadudde yeah a quickbread like she made is great for soup but if you want to use the bread for more things (like sandwiches, toast etc), def knead for longer or you won't have an enjoyable experience
RUclips seems to read my mind, yesterday I had a thought (not even googled just thought) how do vegans have grilled cheese? Figuring there was a way, and bam you've given me 3 different ways Thank you
i tried the 5min one for my vegan sister(and myself) and its soooooo good. try it out guys. seriously gonna make more of this. make sure you salt consciously.
I love this! The 5 minute one is such a great idea. Normally I save my tofu for scambles and just add a sprinkle of daiya to a toasty sandwhich, but this is a great way to add in more protein. :)
i just made the 5 minute cheese and it’s DELICIOUS. i used green onion, thyme, and oregano because i was out of chive, dill, and parsley, and it still turned out absolutely amazing. tastes like a cheesy creamy cheese and could definitely be used as a dip as well as a kind of “cream cheese” for a sandwich. either way, whatever you wanna call this truly, it’s a must try if you have all the ingredients. so easy and so yummy!!!!!!!!! :oo thanks merle!!!!!!!!!!
me: i just want to see how they stretched something like making a grilled cheese for 5 hours. what are they gonna do? make the cheese and bread? also me: oh. .....and soup

These are beautiful! This is our 5 minute vegan grilled cheese we are currently making a couple times a week: mix a tablespoon of sriracha with a tablespoon of veganaise to spread onto Dave’s Killer bread and use a slice of chao cheese!
@@sarahwarner8431 my family hates putting bread in the freezer, thank you for the advice though, a reason why we hate putting bread in the freezer is bc it changes the molecular structure having it taste a bit different than before.

tbh I just make vegan grilled cheese like the non vegan version with store bought ingredients. But after I'm done, I open it up and add tomato slices cold with a bit of salt. DELICIOUS

I’m so confused, did i miss something? She tried all of them on camera except the 50 minute one. A whole big part of this is hearing her reaction and hearing how good they taste.
The quick version is nice, but wouldn't it be better to toast the bread WITH the cheese, so it would be warm?! I would choose the Gouda Version I love your channel 🥰
These all look amazing and I love the little mentions of zero waste methods which is why i found it a little odd when Merle used what looked like an aerosol to spray the oil! A nice, eco friendly method would be a reusable spritz bottle and/or a pastry brush 😊
