There are 3 difficulty's in the game, Easy, Normal and Hard. the differences between the difficulty's are the dungeons and bosses in each chapter. Im playing on hard mode, and the dungeons from easy/normal do not spawn in here.
Valkyrie Profile for the Playstation
played on the epsxe 1.8.0 emulator
The game runs perfectly with the settings that i used, but there are some issues tho.
Known issues:
Sound cutting out during Spirutal Concentration. it can be solved by changing the sound plugin to ''ePSXe SPU core 1.8.0'' to get that fixed, but after thats done its better to change it back to the original ''Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41'' to not have any issues with the gameplay.
A major issue in the game it self (not emulator related) is the Cut Scene freezes @ 4 points.
1. Begin of the game The Cut Scene where Valkyrie, Odin, Freya talk
2. After Arngrim dies (not sure)
3. Spirutual Concetration with Badrach
4. After defeating Gandar

Lawfer comes next and actually does damage: "I am not strong enough..."

One of the only games of that time where you could swap weapons in battle and he lets arngrim do 0 damage the whole fight..

Reason why I play it lol. Besides being an amazing game. The good thing is that Arngrim can't be transfered so he will always be on your party, which I love

well the PSP wasn´t actually a remake, was a port since its the same game, same core same system, it´s like an emulation of the original. we want a remake with 2014 graphs, we want this with FF13´s engine :D

the voice acting is very funny. all the characters except lenneth are voiced by pokemon characters

Lezard wasn't kidding at the end that he would attain ultimate power in the future....
I love how extension force was meant to wipe the party, but I'm guessing the player used the Bracelet of Zoe to boost DME high enough to survive it. Probably would have done even less if they'd used Guard Reinforce.
It's also Fire Elemental, so any Fire-resistant equipment would suffice as well. Extension Force is much worse with Iseria Queen though.
This game is one of the hardest and frustrating games of the PS1. And also one of the most beautiful ever done. Need a remake.
@The Koro tri-Ace always made hard games but if you want the hardest one, I'd argue star ocean 2, nothing comes close to indalecio unlimited on universe mode.
A remaster of this game is coming later this year to PlayStation.

Lenneth says she can't forgive herself more than she hates Loki for killing Lucian. Which, if given some thought makes a brillant sense.
Having had her original life taken from her, then being made to act in the interests of a higher power and picking the dead like a Flowers for a bouquet, and turning a blind eye to the feelings and memories that, despite everything Freya and Odin had done to cover it up, were rapidly coming back to the surface of her consciousness. And by the time she seriously began taking that into consideration, Lucian had already long since perished following his botched attempt to bring back the girl he fondly remembered.
When you hear "Nibelung Valesti" you know shit is goin down

Incidentally, just what I’ve heard about the game’s (questionable) translation. Nibelung Valesti was supposed to be Velocity; the first part is a reference to one of the major ancient documents on Norse mythology, which itself was named after the ruler of one of the nine realms of Yggdrasil. And “It shall be engraved on your soul” is also a translation error; the original Japanese was supposed to read “I shall annihilate your soul!”, but I think a one-letter typo screwed it up.
There's tons of games nobody will ever hear of sadly.

@@KnakuanaRka I don't know about Nibelung Valesti being Velocity, but for the other one you're unfortunately wrong. What she says in japanese is "Sono mi ni kizame", or loosely "Carve it on your flesh/body".
The whole soul thing was something the localizers added, possibly because they felt it sounded awkward in English.
I love telling people about this game:
"It's got a pretty high body count. Every character you can possibly recruit in the main game dies."
"Oh wow, nobody lives through the ending?"
"...Oh yeah, that too..."
Seriosuly, everyone dies TWICE in this game. Once to recruit them, once when Loki nukes creation. (Cept for Lucian, who got killed by Loki earlier) It's absurd when you think about it like that.
Basically a high body count, followed by a high soul count on top of it.
First time watching this game and never played the series before. Just passing through out of curiosity c:

Ohmaaan, my inner VP'er is screaming "WHY YOU DON'T USE GREAT MAGIC AS LAST ATTACK, ARNGRIM CAN EASILY FILL UP 60 OF THE GAUGE" and why arngirm has a poor weapon? He is one of the hardest hitters.. Still, pretty good run xD
It's not a poor weapon, the player forgot to use Sap Guard/Reduce Guard on turn one since Loki has extremely high RDM (their answer to defense). Sap Guard is universally the best spell in the game: 10 turns, reduces guard, even extreme RDM, only requires one purple gem to cool down and is stackible. Combine with Might Reinforce for high damage and a faster beat time. Probably not needed for this boss, though.
Was thinking the same thing. If you plan PWS properly, you get _way_ more damage because the hit count affects a damage multiplier. So the best order for this team in this battle would be Lawfer, Arngrim, Valkyrie, Mystina. Drove me crazy seeing the PWS used immediately instead of delaying them to stack together.
Im useing the manga party val/ armgrim/ mystina and jelanda yes theres a vp manga it covers this path and jelanda gets a better role even helps with saving Valkyrie from her sister

The voice actor for Loki sounds like Merrik from Yu-Gi-Oh haha.

This game needs a remake or remaster in HD for Nintendo Switch and as a bonus make Celia a playable character too. Llewelyn is my favorite character i like his finisher move but he is weak in stats and his traits are mostly negative (unlucky, can't swim, worrier, cowardly)
actually after you get the power of creation you can defeat Loki in two moves. but at least you have the jop done

Its iether Godly combat System that would exceed VP2 into dragonball Z High end entertainment, And or incomprehencability and the game would practicly have to run entirely on cinema like Final fantasy Theantherythem

Yups, its one of the best game ive ever play, and the gameplay is adopted by brave frontier, online game on mobile, just check it out..
Should have put the Devils Red Blade on Arngrim it deals so much damage to Loki when in Arngrim's hands.
If you liked this game, there is a mobile game called Brave Frontier that has just about the same battle mechanics

i couldn't get thru the final part of this game, i did evrything for the good ending and grinded levels but still was decimated in the last part of the game, so i gave up

Lenneth Valkyrie has already defeated Loki. With the Dark Valkyrie and Loki Shade, the battle continues. Apart from Hrist and Silmeria, all valkyries have a sole mission to protect Ragnarok from coming.

I tried to play this game but couldn't get past the first 20 minutes. Mainly I dont understand the battle system. Is the objective just to try to get your characters to strike at the same time?

After this. Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria pretty much completes. If you play part 2 there's a scene in the game that will surprise you because you have already played it in Valkyrie Profile Lenneth when she teleports from dimension to dimension.... I'll just leave it there

Lol I used to watch my dad play this game when I was little. It’s what inspired me to start playing jrpgs not trying to brag but this was my first jrpg that I beat when I was 7. My dad made it look so hard 😂😂😂😂

Every time I complete a stage the game gives me a bad grade and then I wind up being way behind the vanir and losing at the end
It's either a bug, or the warriors you've sent to Valhala didn't meet the requirements Freya made. You should also train the character traits. If.the guy you want to sent is unlucky: give him Rabbit foot, if he's sad give him Amber of happines. There's also an accesory for guys who can't swim. Which version you're playing?
