well the PSP wasn´t actually a remake, was a port since its the same game, same core same system, it´s like an emulation of the original. we want a remake with 2014 graphs, we want this with FF13´s engine :D
@The Koro tri-Ace always made hard games but if you want the hardest one, I'd argue star ocean 2, nothing comes close to indalecio unlimited on universe mode.
I love how extension force was meant to wipe the party, but I'm guessing the player used the Bracelet of Zoe to boost DME high enough to survive it. Probably would have done even less if they'd used Guard Reinforce.
I love telling people about this game: "It's got a pretty high body count. Every character you can possibly recruit in the main game dies." "Oh wow, nobody lives through the ending?" "...Oh yeah, that too..." Seriosuly, everyone dies TWICE in this game. Once to recruit them, once when Loki nukes creation. (Cept for Lucian, who got killed by Loki earlier) It's absurd when you think about it like that.
I still often yell "NIBELUNG VALESTI!!" and no ever knows what Valkyrie Profile is ( ; _ ; ) IT SHALL BE ENGRAVED UPON YOUR SOUL!! DIVINE ASSAULT! You only prolong your suffering...
Incidentally, just what I’ve heard about the game’s (questionable) translation. Nibelung Valesti was supposed to be Velocity; the first part is a reference to one of the major ancient documents on Norse mythology, which itself was named after the ruler of one of the nine realms of Yggdrasil. And “It shall be engraved on your soul” is also a translation error; the original Japanese was supposed to read “I shall annihilate your soul!”, but I think a one-letter typo screwed it up.

What she says in japanese is "Sono mi ni kizame", or loosely "Carve it on your flesh/body". The whole soul thing was something the localizers added, possibly because they felt it sounded awkward in English.
Lenneth says she can't forgive herself more than she hates Loki for killing Lucian. Which, if given some thought makes a brillant sense. Having had her original life taken from her, then being made to act in the interests of a higher power and picking the dead like a Flowers for a bouquet, and turning a blind eye to the feelings and memories that, despite everything Freya and Odin had done to cover it up, were rapidly coming back to the surface of her consciousness. And by the time she seriously began taking that into consideration, Lucian had already long since perished following his botched attempt to bring back the girl he fondly remembered.
This game needs a remake or remaster in HD for Nintendo Switch and as a bonus make Celia a playable character too. Llewelyn is my favorite character i like his finisher move but he is weak in stats and his traits are mostly negative (unlucky, can't swim, worrier, cowardly)

Ohmaaan, my inner VP'er is screaming "WHY YOU DON'T USE GREAT MAGIC AS LAST ATTACK, ARNGRIM CAN EASILY FILL UP 60 OF THE GAUGE" and why arngirm has a poor weapon? He is one of the hardest hitters.. Still, pretty good run xD
It's not a poor weapon, the player forgot to use Sap Guard/Reduce Guard on turn one since Loki has extremely high RDM (their answer to defense). Sap Guard is universally the best spell in the game: 10 turns, reduces guard, even extreme RDM, only requires one purple gem to cool down and is stackible. Combine with Might Reinforce for high damage and a faster beat time. Probably not needed for this boss, though.
Was thinking the same thing. If you plan PWS properly, you get _way_ more damage because the hit count affects a damage multiplier. So the best order for this team in this battle would be Lawfer, Arngrim, Valkyrie, Mystina. Drove me crazy seeing the PWS used immediately instead of delaying them to stack together.
Im useing the manga party val/ armgrim/ mystina and jelanda yes theres a vp manga it covers this path and jelanda gets a better role even helps with saving Valkyrie from her sister

I tried to play this game but couldn't get past the first 20 minutes. Mainly I dont understand the battle system. Is the objective just to try to get your characters to strike at the same time?
THEGREATMAX How is easy mode the real "hard" mode in this game? That doesn't make sense to me. I have the original PSX version and I only ever played it on normal and hard.
diasflac0g Easy mode is like a stripped down, shorter version of the game. There are fewer dungeons to go through and fewer characters to get... but they don't rebalance the main plot-related bosses. So basically, you get fewer characters, fewer opportunities to level up, and weaker weapons and items but all the bad guys are the same levels as other difficulties I had the original PSX disc too
THEGREATMAX Ah I see xD All of my playthroughs have always been on Hard Mode (aside from the very first on normal) since you get all the cool stuff and have access to all of the Hard Mode dungeons too which have crystals for the seraphic gate :3
diasflac0g Yeah, well I played this game before the internet and you couldn't really find game guides for obscure stuff like this, so I had to figure out on my own what all the difficulties were like lol
***** TBH, the Queen isn't that hard, given the high rate of survival Guts and Auto-Item together combines. The only thing you need to make sure is the 90% Dark Resistance Robe is on your Mage so at least 1 person survives Cosmic Spear. People just make it harder than it looks because either their DME isn't maxed out or they bring characters like Freya and Brahms which make doing combos a sheer annoyance in some cases or have no damn clue what they are doing (no offense, like the player). You should see people using those 2 against Hamsters. It is hilarious. However, Guts/Auto-Item really ticks me off in general. Mostly every VP video you see on RUclips abuses it and it makes fights a lot easier than they should be. He was sheer lucky to get out of Bloodbane thanks to it (there is a point he is left with just Mystina and manages to get out of his pickle). If it wasn't for Guts/Auto-Item, he would have probably never made it to Asgard Hill at all. And before you say it, it is POSSIBLE to beat anything in this game without Guts/Auto-Item, I got a video stockpile on my channel to prove it. I even do 4 Hamsters without it and beat them in 1 move. It is also possible to max out your DME by then using your Orb Experience and Bracelets of Zoe correctly. Also, every boss @ Asgard can be slain in 3 turns at virtually any level, INCLUDING Bloodbane: Turn 1: Might Reinforce, rest attack and generate the chest and orbs. Turn 2: Sap Guard, rest attack and generate the chest and orbs if you haven't done so. Turn 3: Open with Mystic Cross to cancel block check, all characters combo, PWS chain. The reason people have problems with Bloodbane is they neglect to pack at least Fire, Lightning or Holy Resistance. Stun Checks really do help and the 3 turn KO will skip past his Gravity Blessing. The other issue is that you get plenty of time to max out your levels and DME, but people either abuse Dimensional Slip (I never really used it in the Story, I use it in SG when I am finished everything) or don't make full use of their Periods in the Chapters and make it harder on themselves than it should be. Hard isn't hard, unless you make it hard on yourself.
Meh, the stats are great if you do the "reload whenever she didn't get a good level up" game, which I played with all my favourite characters, in the end you can flatten the Iseria Queen with whatever Mage you like best anway even without that (it's not like their final weapon sucks like it does for the poor Spear or Bow using Characters). Still I don't use her anyway since I prefer Yumei.
Mage stats don't matter that much. In my first playthrough, I reached Loki and Surtr with just Jelanda. I don't like how the strong mages come mid to late in the story.
I beg your forgiveness, but doesn't Loki look awfully lot like Rufus from v.p silmeria you think there might be a connection I mean I don't know since I barely started playing this games cause I was far to young to play them before.
It's either a bug, or the warriors you've sent to Valhala didn't meet the requirements Freya made. You should also train the character traits. If.the guy you want to sent is unlucky: give him Rabbit foot, if he's sad give him Amber of happines. There's also an accesory for guys who can't swim. Which version you're playing?

It's also Fire Elemental, so any Fire-resistant equipment would suffice as well. Extension Force is much worse with Iseria Queen though.

And before you say it, it is POSSIBLE to beat anything in this game without Guts/Auto-Item, I got a video stockpile on my channel to prove it. I even do 4 Hamsters without it and beat them in 1 move. It is also possible to max out your DME by then using your Orb Experience and Bracelets of Zoe correctly.
Also, every boss @ Asgard can be slain in 3 turns at virtually any level, INCLUDING Bloodbane:
Turn 1: Might Reinforce, rest attack and generate the chest and orbs.
Turn 2: Sap Guard, rest attack and generate the chest and orbs if you haven't done so.
Turn 3: Open with Mystic Cross to cancel block check, all characters combo, PWS chain.
The reason people have problems with Bloodbane is they neglect to pack at least Fire, Lightning or Holy Resistance. Stun Checks really do help and the 3 turn KO will skip past his Gravity Blessing.
The other issue is that you get plenty of time to max out your levels and DME, but people either abuse Dimensional Slip (I never really used it in the Story, I use it in SG when I am finished everything) or don't make full use of their Periods in the Chapters and make it harder on themselves than it should be. Hard isn't hard, unless you make it hard on yourself.
Auto item's ability destroy all the game's challange. That is not too much anymore.
It's kinda necessary for the Iseria Queen but aside from that I'd agree.

Am I the only one who uses Nanami as his mage? Idc about her stats, her voice when casting a great magic is my only reason.
Meh, the stats are great if you do the "reload whenever she didn't get a good level up" game, which I played with all my favourite characters, in the end you can flatten the Iseria Queen with whatever Mage you like best anway even without that (it's not like their final weapon sucks like it does for the poor Spear or Bow using Characters).
Still I don't use her anyway since I prefer Yumei.
Mage stats don't matter that much. In my first playthrough, I reached Loki and Surtr with just Jelanda. I don't like how the strong mages come mid to late in the story.

Every time I complete a stage the game gives me a bad grade and then I wind up being way behind the vanir and losing at the end
It's either a bug, or the warriors you've sent to Valhala didn't meet the requirements Freya made. You should also train the character traits. If.the guy you want to sent is unlucky: give him Rabbit foot, if he's sad give him Amber of happines. There's also an accesory for guys who can't swim. Which version you're playing?
