      @@jackielinde7568 Yep, that is the point. Heracles' strength rarely solves his problems alone. He needs to think things through or receive inspiration from Hermes or Athena. Its because these tales had an educational purpose built into them, in accordance to the greek Paideia.

    Hey, you forgot the best part of the tasks. The tasks weren't all given at once. They were made up on the spot. Not only were they made up, but they were told from a bronze pithos in the floor that the king hid in because he was terrified of every single monster and artifact heracles brought into the poor guy's castle.
    Oh, and the tasks weren't based on time. They were based on number. There were supposed to be 7. This poor king, shivering in his bunker at this almighty demigod had to tell heracles that his tasks didn't count because he got help not once, not twice, but three times.

      The way I heard it was the same with the improv quests but 10 was to be the plan but the hydra and the cattle were not counted (He had help with the Hydra and he got paid for the cattle) so two more were given, one was for the hell hound but I can't remember the other one.

    We went for the greek pronunciation of Herakles because we're using the greek version of the myths and not the slightly tweaked Roman version. But since spell check is insisting that Herakles is not a real word, we decided to still title the episode Hercules, the Roman (and much more popular) spelling. THANKS ANCIENT ROME

    Heracles blasted through the quests so quickly that he left the DM scrambling for content. DM decided that two of his labours didn't count because he had help and came up with two more.

      I was thinking follower actually, haha. I add a subset of follower called "chattel", where I have my players put their horses, mules, cart-oxen, etc. Where that gets really tricky is if they get slaves. I guess you could just go Oregon Trail where everything is just a masterlist.

      Yeah there's different greek writers and different translations, and some omit parts, so there's so many different varieties of even the birth of Athena, to the trojan war, it's all really confusing but interesting at the same time

    Hercules was originally supposed to only complete 10 labors but Eurystheus added two more to the tally as he deemed the killing the hydra and cleaning out the Augeas Stables invalid, due to the fact that Hercules had help with the former and did the latter for pay which was inappropriate as he wasn't supposed to get paid for doing penance.
