More than 10 years in the past I fell in love ith your interpretation, because I loved Nujabes and Counting Stars. Downloaded it as mp3 and for years it became one of my favorite songs. Time passed and I forgot until today. Thanks my friend!
I flipped my phone upside down two years ago and disciplined myself to learn everything outside of 0:43 - 1:22 where you go ham😂 Incredible improv & thank u for letting me copy
I love the fact that, since you can hear the thump of the keys as they rest into the piano, it's almost as if there's a perfectly harmonized beat going on in behind the whole thing. Also, your piano playing is amazing.
I studied trumpet for 6 years but then switched to piano and I've been playing for about 4 years now, it's really relative to how fast you learn and how much you put into it though, keep practicing! I recommend Mark Levine's Jazz piano book
this should be in the original beat. this whole freestlye! all of it! Flawlesss and how you end it...GAWD i love this video! I thank god for youtube just for this vid!
This is pretty sick dude, keep it up. Nujabes is one of my favorites, and to see how you incorporate his beats to your style is phenomenal. Props to ya!
Ive become a fan of your music, it would be great to hear you play the full version of Mystline from Nujabes someday! it would be awsome ;) *peace out*
just wanted to let you know that you have inspired me to attempt jazz after years of classical. i still find improv hard despite your tutorials, so i'm kinda just playing by and watching the keys you press like a noob. but maybe you can help critique me if i upload something. thanks mmeronek! keep posting vids as much as you can!
@wtl63 I tend to hold down the pedal a lot, but I just change it whenever I change the chord because it will mash with the previous notes. Yeah I used it at the beginning for sure, otherwise it would sound staccato and when I think of this song it is very smooth and needs that emphasis with the pedal
hey thanks to your tutorial i learned how to play the melody, and i was wondering if you could make a tutorial for the solo. it was truly amazing. ill definatly subscribe =)
hey mmeronek how often do you use the pedals? are you only avoiding the pedals on the scales? are you using them when you play the main melody at the beginning? sorry for the barrage of questions. :)
I actually thought it was pretty necessary for this song's feel and melody, because I feel like it sounds a little choppy without it, it could be the case I used it too much tho, dunno you'd have to clarify
When he plays that final part at 1:44 i close my eyes and think of lyrics for it. "Why don't you.... Come sit with me and we'll fall slowly... Fall slowly. Anytime is fine as long as I'm with you, as long as I'm with you... I'm with you"
i was flipping thru nujabes and i stumbled on this vid...im good with faces, so i remember u saying something like "i make melodies with my drummer friend" and i saw in your other 21 vids, u had a drummer friend, so i was like, this had to be stockroom guy... yeah... random... facebook requested btw...

Did you know that "Counting Stars" has a sample form "Affirmation" a Jazz Standard composed by "José Feliciano"?.
Héctor Vazquez woo I didn't know men, thanks!
Also samples Frank Sinatra's "It could happen to you"
É tão foda saber q veio de um brasileiro 🇧🇷🇧🇷
I still listen to this occasionally, it really is a beautiful cover

@wtl63 sure, let me know when/if you do, and I think that's awesome
How long have you been playing?
You made that solo up before you recorded the video right? You didn't make it up while you were going along, right?
stupid question, is that a synthsizer or a real piano?
This beginning, Affirmation !
you HAVE to do a tutorial
