- During the college football game between Western Kentucky and App State, WKU quarterback Bailey Zappe broke the record for most passing touchdowns in a season in college football history when he threw his 61st touchdown pass of the season in the third quarter. Former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow was the previous record holder with 60 touchdowns. Western Kentucky has a 45-31 lead over App State in the third quarter of the 2021 Boca Raton Bowl.

And the ratio for lsu in 2019 was 60:32

Based off the other QBs, they may give him a chance. Though they may get him second round, citing that he is playing for a small team and playing against smaller team.

Nowadays everyone plays offense so it was bound to happen, such an incredible season
Not to take anything away from him, but look at the teams he did it against. Now look at who Burrow did it against (Bama, Clemson, OU, Auburn, Georgia). Zappe’s 61 or 62 does not impress me nearly as much as Joe’s 60 against that SEC west gauntlet. Again, not to take anything away from him because it is impressive. I’m just more impressed by Joe.
@@lsufan932 I mean clearly lol, LSU is looked at as one of those sorta powerhouses so we’re not nearly as surprised (though I wouldn’t necessarily say scoring on OU is very hard at all), it’s nice to see a small school do it, 2019 LSU would beat this WKU team by 50 though

Bloody should be but the highest a western kentucky player has gone in the draft was 38th and that was a OL. + there are multiple other hyped qbs and only like 2 are projected to go first rounders

With just 11 interceptions in 14 games isn’t bad. Only .7 per game or roughly with his stats 1 int for ever 4 td.
He’s definitely one of the best in this class, unfortunately he needs to show it in senior bowl, then wow in the combine and on pro day. I certainly think he can be a day 1 prospect with all things considered

Crazy I thought Joe Burrows record would've taken alot longer to break. I'd risk a 4-7 round pick on this guy. If he has a good combine 2-3 round.
Seems like a good pick for a team that has a quarterback that will retire soon.
I wasn't expecting him to win the hiesman, but it would have been nice for him to get a little more hiesman attention.

This is his 5th year as a qb in college, his 4th year was cut short because Covid. If you had payed attention to him at HBU he put up nearly similar numbers

Probably because Western Kentucky lost too many games. He really should’ve been tho, especially because the heisman finalists were pretty weak this year.

comments like this don't make any sense. with a power 5 team comes power 5 recruits, 4-5 star defensive and offensive pieces. It doesn't change his abilities and what he's able to accomplish.

You do realize app state were a nationally ranked team the last 2 years. And they played against UTSA that was ranked 25 week 12 and WKU still played toe to toe with them

What a dick thing to say. They are a NCAA Division 1 school just like the rest of them. They play who they are scheduled to play. The kid came out of no where and broke the NCAA Division 1 Passing TD record. There's a reason that was a record. It's not like it's easy to do or anything.

You’d figure after his 4 (three against big name schooled) game stretch playing for HBU he would have been known. He legit averaged the same numbers in such a small sample size.
