- Regarding the OSTs of each hoyoverse game, it always feels like they never miss. Even though it almost feels impossible to rank the songs due to consistent banger releases, I went and created my own list of their best vocal songs.

I knew Devastation and Redemption wouldn't make the cut, but surprised Hope is the Thing with Feathers ranked so low.
I actually really like devestation and redemption too! However so many good song, its was super hard to make a list xD

idk what to say about Genshin. Furina's song is beautiful. HSR's songs just sound fun and calm, their tunes are really positive. Hi3 is like WHAT every song is a tragedy, wonderful melody and vocal, some of them are sad. they create a general idea of the plot and the whole game. it's very majestically and gorgeous.
i can't even choose my favorite one, they're all fantastic aaaaAAA

As someone who plays all 4 hoyo games, HI3 is by far my favorite. the story is beautiful, the music is perfect, and it has an amazing message. the early game is pretty dated, the the first few chapters have iffy writing, but I recommend it to pretty much everyone I meet.

I’m glad Rubia is in the top 10, I honestly think that is my favorite song of all time, it’s my comfort song(I may be a bit biased as Zhou Shen is my favourite singer and he sings like an angel here). Hoyoverse produces a lot of amazing songs though, some of my other personal favourites are La vaguelette, Moon Halo, Nightglow, and Regression.

Yes, i definitely agree because the lyric are tied to the story arc and otto characters aswell as his minds, left very deep impression to someone who's realize it and will never forget it. each time you play the song each time you'll realize new meaning and how deep its meaning not just about otto but how the world of honkai is standing off tragedies

Regression literally left some sort of trauma to people. I still recall a certain event that happened to HSR players when they almost became Otto's disciples.

Genshin Impact has too few songs compared to the others and I'm a little sad about it. The instrumental music is really good,but I need more songs with vocals.
HSR and HI3's songs are so good that I added them to my playlist, I can't believe they are game soundtracks.

8:43 correction on the vocal credit for Lyin, ZOE is the composer for this track. The singer is uncredited in the original album release but i think it's Yirui Liu based on the credits in the Forest Capriccio concert
(also I have heard that the singer for Phi^2 is also uncredited and that TetraCalyx is only credited as the lyricist, but when I checked the wiki they did credit her so 🤷♀️)

I somehow liked this more than I need to. I watched this video for many days now. This list prioritizes the ones that can move you emotionally so you can see the hype ones are ranked lower.
I had no qualms in regards to the rankings as it is hard to rank them and that each of us has their own personal favourites.
Looking at it on the bright side, the viewers could be successfully hooked in the video with that bottom list.
But speaking of the bottom list, I do have a qualm on Feather of Aeons. Like how there's no feature of "Aeons" (an indefinite and very long period of time) shown. I'd suggest putting in some of Fu Hua's friends in the past and also some times her body got healed/reborn.

For me, Regression is the first "naturally-English" song Hoyo has made with how the lyrics are written and sung. It was a refreshing OST since I had already been playing HI3 for a long time when "Thus Spoke Apocalypse" came out. It seems like the lyrics were actually written by an actual western songwriter. There's no word that feels awkward to sing. The grammar also checks out.
"Every night brings a dream
but the day
relentlessly
keeps me awake."
Such a scarily creative lyric to describe Otto's 500-year life after Kallen's death. Gives me chills.
Some examples of "awkward lyrics" in some Hoyo's songs (in my opinion):
- TruE: "susurrates" is such an out-of-place word to write in a song.
- Oracle: the word "doom" at the end of the climactic chorus puts me off for some reason. "Doom", despite the meaning, feels like a very weak word, pronunciation-wise, to sing so strongly.
- Rubia: "A madder there for you" could never be understood during a first listen.
- Nightglow: same with Oracle, "bravely" feels very weak a word to sing at the end of a climactic chorus.
- Moon Halo: "I will no longer be a transient" - transient what? Oh it's a noun? This line could be improved. "A pair of wings for me at this moment" - "at this moment" doesn't sound natural when sung.
Some of these songs feel like it was initially written in Chinese and then imperfectly translated to English. After Regression, all of HI3's English songs' lyrics feel great to listen to.

I don't play Honkai, so I don't get why Regression was at the top while Emberfire second. Especially the goat baby Clervie was in Emberfire and it made me cry😢
Easiest explanation for it is the main villain(for the majority of part 1) gets his redemption arc. One so great that the player base which widely hated him respected the man

In my personal opinion, lyin is still no.1 in my heart, the song is short but the melody makes me feel so sad :((. On the other hand, i like hi3/ggz's songs more than the rest, because i don't know why it's easy to listen to at first listen. The rest of the songs are not bad but for me, it's not good enough to make me listen to it over and over again.
P/s: Again, this is just my personal opinion

I do listen to ggz themes ^^ Besides Lying and teri's theme, I like color of snowy night. However.. it placed just outside the list as I prefer the other songs :3 but no worries, for me Angel of sin is the same as cyberangel :) as they share a main tune
