3 years in - is it too late to start playing Genshin?

  • Genshin Impact has been out for three years now, and one of the first things people wonder when hearing about it these days is whether they’ve missed the party.
It’s a valid question, since Genshin is a live service game which places a lot of focus on its time-limited events, and the community is always talking about the new limited-time characters and the latest chapters in the story. The sheer variety of content types and different niches within the game can make it overwhelming for new players to really understand, and it can be unclear to them which things are permanent and which are transient.
So if someone were to start playing the game today, how would their experience differ? What exactly would they miss out on, what would their disadvantages be, and are there any advantages to starting now?
Or is it just too late to start playing Genshin?

Enjoy the game. My best advice is, try to completely avoid videos of the "Is this character any good", build and use the characters you like, makes the game way more enjoyable, plus the game is completable even with the 4 starting free characters, so you don't have to stress over power creep and stuff like that ^^

I always play through the main story and then work on exploring, world quests and leveling up sakura/fountain city rep etc. Once the main story quests are done and the new areas are fully released content slows down quite a lot and even though ever version has events exploration and reputation make up most of the end game content. I appreciate this for the new players! A lot of people assume Genshin is easy with X character builds or focus on specific team set ups but they never bother to teach why in an easy way. I really hope new players take their time with the world and not get pressured and skip dialogue. I started a week later from the launch and I didn't hop on the social media hype but just played on my own and took my time but I can imagine rushing a bit when there are a couple of month's worth of content to catch up on now. But I still urge people to take their time and learn the basics in elemental reactions and damage if they are more focused on the combat experience. Not all RUclips content creators can give you good advice especially since it's a gacha game and they have no problems spending money. You can totally breeze through the content as a Free to Play since you can get tons of wishes from the world.

Early and mid-game is actually the most enjoyable part of Genshin. The world is huge, something new at every step, months and months of playing. It is also worth mentioning that most guides about building characters are focused on spiral abyss, which is the hardest content in the game. For overworld and exploring having your characters min-maxed is not important, just equipping the right artifacts with the right main stat, and levelling talents, characters and weapons. Still game loop is enjoyable and you can feel progress and sense that your characters are getting stronger. I remember visiting Dragonspine and getting obliterated, and then after some time passed I came back, and finished the mission with ease. Late game is worse, except for new storylines and regions all you do is grind for artifacts andwhile it became part of my daily morning routine, and is still fun, it cannot compare to the first year of playing the game.

I started in 3.0 and have had an amazing experience overall - it took me most of the year to get through the story content (and I played a lot: almost every world quest, maxed out all the trees, at least 90% exploration everywhere) and caught up fully (by my standards) around end of 3.7. I also watched most of the story heavy event cutscenes on RUclips so I feel like I know the lore pretty well too. Character-wise, I did go a little crazy with becoming a collector and I probably would not have spent as much if I had started in 1.0, and obviously I wish I had a better artifact collection. But also experiencing the story at my own pace really brought everything together, and I don’t know if I would’ve enjoyed the lore as much if I experienced some of the earlier quests as a slow drip feed.
Regrets - the missed event weapons, teapot things, free skins, collectables like gadgets and cakes, and height of the community during 2.0. But eventually if I keep playing I’ll have more things than what I missed, so it doesn’t bother me too much.

I've decided to start Genshin Impact only a few days ago, but to just play it casually and tos lowly learn how it works and enjoy the ride. The only stuff that baffles me is the Wishes and all the types of currency. I have yet to feel any need to even use any wishes. I'm just having fun with the free cast for now. Focusing on the Traveler character mostly. Just collecting materials upgrading nothing and keeping everthing for a rainy day until I actually understand what I'm doing. I mean I have alot of stuff that I don't know what to use for.
Also whats with the Amber hate i've noticed online? I mean she's the only archer I have and I think the Arching is very usefull in the overworld, sure in combat it takes a bit of positioning. She's not really the type of character to play constantly, but I think she has her uses. Lisa is my favourite for combat. I also like her "come a little closer." line for some reason. Also her outfit is fantastic. I'm a sucker for anything purple.

    • @saurusness
      @saurusness  9 месяцев назад

I think that's a smart approach! Super early game you can get away with not upgrading anything, and just hoarding your resources until you reach the point where you have to start levelling things!
The wishing system is kind of complicated; there are 3 types of banners: limited character event, limited weapon event, and standard. The first two use the pink wishes, the last one uses the blue wishes, while all banners can also use primogems for wishing (all wishes cost the same otherwise). The limited banners change every 3 weeks. There are rules about the guarantees and 50/50s that'll make this explanation way too long, but hopefully that helped a bit! When it comes to the matter of whether to do 10 wishes at a time or 1, just know that it doesn't affect your chances of getting good stuff, either way the chances are calculated individually for every wish, 10 at a time is just faster and more satisfying 😁
Sadly Amber gets a lot of hate because she struggles to keep up with any of the "tougher"/"end game" content unless you have hyper invested in her and are rather skilled, but when it comes to the rest of the game none of that matters, and indeed the fact that she's an archer is really useful! She's one of those characters that quickly pales in comparison to other pyros for various reasons, but the outright hate is definitely unjustified. Also the late game Amber mains are kind of hardcore 😁

I only started this April and I'm still going strong! The guides definitely helped a lot, so I knew not to advance my AR too early (which would've definitely screwed me over), and I've finally triple crowned my first main: Kaeya! Now, I've had the joy of pre-farming for Venti, who I anticipate will become a frequently used character on my account. The community is so much more well-informed now that I can actually make decisions on which characters I want to pull for regardless of their popularity or strength. For example, I'll likely be pulling for Baizhu despite him barely being talked about, because the many conprehensive and corrected guides have taught me the mechanics of the game, so I know that he'll be a benefit to my account (if it also gives me an excuse to make the terrible and barely-functioning quadruple-healer burgeon team of Bennett, Barbara, Kokomi, and Baizhu, well that's just a perk!)

I think my piece of advice for anyone starting now is don't push yourself too fast - find a group of friends you can play with and just vibe. Most of the limited stuff you just need to be AR20 for - if you can co-op the fighty bits, then you don't need to miss out on anything. Also, don't think I shouldn't ask my friends because they help me so much when you know they'd love to help too otherwise you wind up like me with Albedo's BiS event weapon and only have r3 because you didn't do the fighty bits to get the last refinements. They need to put the refinements in a shop, I would pay real money to r5 it for him 😭

When you're not doom and gloom all the time and have a speck of hope great things can happen. I started my journey in this game around the summer of 2023 (so I've been playing Genshin for like 4 months at most) and at first I felt like I had missed out on so much (and I definitely had). But as time went on, I realized how lucky I had been to start playing a little bit before the release of Fontaine, because I managed to get my hands on so many good characters. I started off with Tighnari and Wanderer, and I'm quite proud of the amount of progress I've made (even if I'm a little slow due to the amount of stuff I'm trying to catch up on). So yeah, it's never too late to start playing Genshin Impact, so long as you manage to have fun in the end.

    Very sound and exhaustive content!
As a veteran player, i believe it's much more easy for beginners nowadays than it was at the start (especially as f2p). Dendro is great for high dmg at low investment, knowledge about the combat mechanics is now widely understood and spread, and events are more and more beginner- friendly (i started genshin during Dragonspine event that was quite tough).
If i had to restart genshin with with my current knowledge from the game, i would still rush adventure rank to 20 or 25 (can't remember which unlocks events) to access events because it ads more fun and brings valuable rewards.
From that point, no need to rush content trying to catch up, just enjoying every bit at your own pace.

It's not too late to experience the story of Genshin, it really isn't! However the grinding is pretty underwhelming, same goes with limited events that might not return due to Hoyoverse's greedy intention, at least in my opinion, players would say they missed the old times, as someone who played this game since last year, I can already understand that feeling since I didn't know what to do and easily got burned out, however PLEASE do NOT worry about Meta! Genshin is also played for casuals and made for fun! Primogems are easy to grind, focus on your own task, and soon you'll get used to it, don't overdue it, just have fun!

Yeah ignoring meta is the key!
I kinda feel both ways about the whole missing the old times thing - there's something special about some of those memories, which I don't think would've had the same impact if they were places you could go and revisit. For example I'm much fonder of the Golden Apple Archipelago than I am of Enkanomiya 🤔

But I came back to it about 3 months ago after seeing my friend play it and I've been having a real blast. There's so much more to do and the map like tripled in size. I only started playing a few months ago, and it can be hard for new players to get info outside of the "meta." Thanks much for this realistic view on what there is to do. With only a handful of 5 star characters, and the freely given 4 stars, I have been working my way through the story and slowly backtracking through the different zones to explore. It can be frustrating and lead to FOMO seeing most of the game creators talking about best builds, teams, etc. when you don't have specific characters that most long time players rely on. I can say from experience that the majority of the content can be done with a handful of characters. I know it is going to be a long road to getting some of the characters that I would like to have, but in the meantime, I'm still enjoying running around the world with my team and seeing where the story is going to go :)

    • @saurusness
      @saurusness  10 месяцев назад +3

yeah it takes a lot of patience to collect the characters you want, especially as a f2p, but thankfully there's plenty of content to keep you engaged, and free primogems to save up!
Even I sometimes take granted some 4 star kit enhancements that come from constellations despite trying to remain aware of it; when I started a f2p account a few months ago I was shocked by how much more energy hungry sucrose is at c0 without sac frag compared to the c6/r5 on my main. It was super helpful though for guide making purposes specifically!

My honest opinion when it comes to building teams is don't focus on crowning or maxing character until you find a team that works for you, and when you find that team don't feel pressured get the newer characters and have Uber strong teams. I've been running a team with fischl, yanfei, qiqi and kazuha for almost over a year now and honestly they aren't even fully built. Forcing yourself to max character is one of the most exhausting things you can do in genshin so it's best to just build a passable team and slowly max them out as you play through everything. I do domains and bosses in coop and either learn the attacks of world bosses or have other players help me with them. I've gotten a couple of the newer characters and I'm slowly building some of them up in the mean time but again, I don't push myself or try to get it done fast because it exhausts me.

I'm someone who does not pull for the meta so I would like to highlight some characters/abilities that have made the game much easier/more pleasant for me outside of Spiral Abyss.
      Exploration:
      - Kaeya, Ayaka, and Mona are great picks to cross water easily
      - Albedo, Zhongli, and geo traveler have climbable constructs
      - Anemo boys (except Heizou) can help you with aerial mobility. Venti is the best for co-op because his skill creates wind for all players, but if you don't mind spending resin, you can craft the wind catcher which does the same thing. Wanderer has faster aerial travel than Xiao but he can't start flying from midair
      - Alhaitham and Keqing have grappling skills that let you jump extra high
      - Yelan, Sayu, and Wanderer can make it easier to travel without spending your stamina due to their alternate sprints.
      Farming
      - Klee, Mika, Qiqi, Yanfei, Gorou, Tighnari, and Lyney can find local specialties on your map for you
      - Zhongli is the #1 rock breaker, followed by Razor's hold skill. If you have neither, the three catalysts that can break rocks are Klee, Yanfei, and Ningguang. Or you can use any claymore, or sword plunging attack.
      - Ningguang can help you locate rocks on your map
      - Nahida's skill can pick up plants from a considerable distance
      - Don't underestimate your teapot. You can grow local specialties in it which makes it easier to farm them!
      Combat:
      - You should go for at least one meta character. Even if they aren't in your main team, it will help in the long run. Some 4*s who are meta include Bennett, Xingqiu, Xiangling, Sucrose, and Kuki Shinobu.
      - Albedo is not the best pick for any team outside of mono geo, but he is a good pick for almost every team. His burst gives a guaranteed 125 EM to the entire party with no additional requirements, and his off field damage is significant.
      - You should make sure to build at least one character of each element when you're starting out.
      - Make sure to build a healer but be careful because the hydro healers self-apply hydro
      - Prototype Amber will turn any catalyst user into a healer and you can craft it!
      - It may be stupid to say this, but learn how elemental reactions work. Superconduct reduces physical defense. Damage from swirl, overload, bloom, hyperbloom, and burgeon scales off EM and can't crit
      - Sometimes energy recharge is more important than damage
      - Low damage characters are not bad, they make combat comfier with their utility. Dehya and Xingqiu provide damage reduction and resistance to interruption. Zhongli's shield is unbreakable. Kokomi can outheal anything. The most important thing is having fun so play the way you want to play.

... and praying i get Raiden since her rerun is near. I got almost 60 intertwined fates and while i did summon for Furina and Cyno, i haven't gotten a 5 star aside from a Diluc from a standard banner 10 pull. I don't even have too mane good 4 stars either, so hoping i get lucky with the Almighty Shogun herself.

Great video, it's reassuring to have videos like this that it's not too late for newer players to start Genshin. I myself finally started playing the game this year back in May, near the end of 3.6, and I'm having a fun time. Still going through the Inazuma story as of writing.
The only regret I have is that I wished I started much sooner and didn't have to miss out on the limited events that content character lore and character interactions but I didn't have a proper PC or device to play the game on at the time. I'm thankfully that there are videos of those events and can still watch them but I'm holding on hope that Hoyoverse will make these events replayable again sometime down the road.

I so totally agree with this. I started playing around February this year (I think it was when Shenhe's and Ayaka's banner was up) and I still very much enjoyed it despite missing lots of patch events and special rewards. The lore could really hook you in if you pay attention to dialogues and would interest you better when you get into detail with symbolism and real-world references. It's also kinda funny when you mentioned "better understood mechanics" 'cuz it reminds me of a friend of mine who's played since release and built all his 5 stars as dps (ofc some part of him kinda regrets it cuz he knows he ain't using most of those characters), from which he told me not to do the same😂.

Fantastic video. I started Genshin on May 4th 2022 and I have been taking my time with the story. I experienced fomo especially with free 4 star characters early on and had to fight the urge to burn through the story to get the rewards. I have only just caught up to the current story. I have completed the 4.1 Archon quests, all Story quests, and most of the World quests. I also have near 100 percent exploration in many areas of the current map (and yes that includes the desert). I still have most of the hangout quests I can play through and areas like Enkanomiya to finish but they're there for when I really want something to do or need some extra primos.
When it came to understanding the mechanics of Genshin I struggled early on. Like you said there are so many videos and guides made with the assumption that you already have an idea of how the game works and it really pushes out new players. I had to brute force so much of the information I was hearing until it started to click and that is really unfortunate. It honestly made me want to make a videos for newcomers to Genshin because there really wasn't a lot of newbie friendly guides. You will always find information on what to do and not why you have to do it. Don't C6 Bennett, don't artifact farm until you are AR 45, don't miss any chests, don't waste your resources, etc etc. I C6'd my Bennett the SECOND I got it because I wanted to play a team that needed the pyro infusion from Fantasic Voyage and I do not regret it. Knowing the why is so important and I really wish the context I watched was more informative in that regard and that there is guides like that now for new players.

The thing i'll say to a beginner player is that the experience until adventure level 45-50 is pretty different to the rest of the levels, it might take you months (maybe a over a year) to build your characters and get to the "endgame", so be patient and build Sucrose lol.

I started a year later from when my friends invited me, because I took a break from playing (specifically, from playing toxic MMORPGs) for those 12 months. I finally retired from the communities I've been part of since 2000, and well, I can personally say that switching over to Genshin became like a breath of fresh air for me. I didn't have to compete with anything, just biding my time and exploring the vastness by myself: "On adventures alone, but never lonely" as my adopted mantra stated. That one year gap helped me, to be honest. I think that was the Goldilocks spot for me because by that time, major game issues have been resolved, I had enough content to keep me occupied, enough time to play catch up if I needed, enough to look forward to, and missing far less than those who had just started would have missed. It's been a blast thus far, and, as a completionist and semi-F2P, the game's been very generous with me in regards to the gacha that I'm convinced that I started at just the right time.

Great video! Freedom of choice as well as a much better understanding of the game are things that I never really considered for joining late, and I think you did a really good job at breaking down the pros and cons of starting later into the game's release. I had a conversation with a newer ~ar45 player the other day where I broke down various team archetypes and playstyles, and lined out the differences between them. They were then able to progress forwards with a much clearer goal in mind for what they wanted to do in the game. I think that illustrates the deeper understanding we have of the game and the larger roster choice - I couldn't have laid out realistic expectations based on spending patterns nor explained team archetypes without a much deeper understanding of the game than available to the average player on release, and they couldn't have chosen anywhere near the number of potential teams as they could in the current version. So I think what you've brought up as pros for starting later are very true.
Just a small detail: the fireworks launch tube was made available for purchase from an NPC in version 3.4.

I started playing 8 months ago (3.4?) and it has taken till now (4.1) to "catch up" playing avg 5h per day - and that was completely ignoring all temporary event content up until very recently. I never expected Genshin to be as good as it is going in, I'd only heard/seen disparaging content about it, random ass-shots of characters, and streamers who'd spend most of their sponsor slot pulling on the new banners to get c6 5-stars. None of that mattered. Playing the game was awesome right from the beginning, exploring the world before doing the main quest was a joyous, and frequently jaw-dropping experience, the persistent world-changing side-quests are awesome, and although I hear that there's some character and world lore that is missing if you missed some of the major events, I don't feel like there's anything missing. Feeling like you've missed the boat with Genshin would be like thinking there's no point going to college any more because you heard about all the epic parties that happened last year, that you missed out on. There will be more parties. There will be more Genshin. And there has never been a better time to start.

It’s also important to note that damage showcases are just that. Everything is poured into landing one fat critical hit, and a 10 second video is all you see. Looks amazing, but what you DONT see is all the hours of them having to farm energy and try over and over to land that one 5% chance critical hit-because big numbers depend only on a few stats, while an actually-strong build will have a good balance of Energy Recharge and Crit Rate.

Splendid video! The older OG/OP characters are actually cycling in the masterless starglitter store(Paimons bargains). All newer ones do not sadly. So you can get some constellations from there if you are missing some.

The soundtrack is amazing, my favourite is definitely liyue theme and boss battle theme would be childe phase 3 and raiden phase 1.
I'm AR45 now, unlocked all current teyvat map though now currently still exploring inazuma.

Hey Saurus ! What a nice video! I really enjoy playing Genshin even if I still don't have the super strong build of characters. For me what's intimidating is the time it needs to build but it's a journey and not a destination after all! Cuz if you accomplish something it stays in your account forever. At fist I was feeling lost of how huge the map is. Now I calmed down and following the quests and everything is more clear.

I started this year, and due to experience with other games, chose to progress as slowly as felt natural. It took me about 6 months to catch up with the current game, and it was a great decision. It's basically an MMO like WoW or FFXIV if you removed all the other players XD. A giant world to explore, questlines that take days to finish, lore that you can choose to ignore, or spend hours watching theory and speculation channels to understand all the crazy depth there is. That was the shocker for me - that a free mobile gacha game would have a depth of lore to rival Mass Effect or Dragon Age.
If you're thinking about it - try it! There's a PC version that works great, and the game is free. (Just don't swipe if you can resist the pretty; the game can be beat completely with the free characters ;)

    • @saurusness
      @saurusness  8 месяцев назад

Right that's what's so astonishing??? A FREE game with a huge gorgeous open world, beautifully crafted and unique animations, hours upon hours of story content and exploration and puzzles, an intricate battle system... all of that for free? And the fact that it can stay free too is even more remarkable! I have my main account (welkin, BP, a couple of top ups) and a f2p account, and while the latter has far fewer characters and building them is slower than on my main account, it can complete everything no trouble, including almost fully max clear the abyss even though it's a mere few months old!

I started only one year later and missed a lot of stuff already, like one time event only weapons like Dodoco Tales or Festering Desire, to name 2 of the most useful ones. It took me extra spending to catch on character banners, and focussing ONLY on character banners, disregarding weapons at all, and I STILL miss a few like Childe or Albedo. So no, whoever starts now will surely have a lot of fun with the new stuff, but should definitely know that it's impossible to catch on the past and that thy missed half the fun.

I just came back since the very first venti banner, its a lot of stuff to uncover! I will say the AR increase is a lot more than when it first came out so there is a limit to what you can/can’t do without farming for your artifacts/gear. I ended up getting a hu Tao and spent to get her c1 and that’s been my character I’ve been playing.

For the inaccesible materials, yes Inazuma is the only problem, i believe that by the end of the game we will have Shezhnaya in the north near Mondstadt, we should also be able to go from Mondstadt directly to Fontaine and from Fontaine to Natlan near the desert so for these areas materials should be no problem

When I started in April, I didn´t understand most of the guides and videos in youtube about genshin, for instance, most artifact guides totally ignore that there are 1 to 4 star artifacts for early game so basically for a new player those artifact guides make you feel that you´re doing something wrong and are totally incomprehensible, same for domains, abyss etc. whose guides mostly focus on mid to endgame content and difficulty. One also feels outdated having to watch videos from 2 years ago to know how to beat certain old bosses from Monstadt, Lyhue and Inazuma.

as someone who has played since 1.0 and did have a few breaks one of them being from early 2023 to a few weeks agon when 4.2 released, i can tell that its never to late to start the game but the stuff you do miss can be disappointing but based on my experience, the storys in the limited events often functions as a teaser for future storys and the game even checks if you have met characters in these events before or not for example if you have played in the early days there was an event with mona in which you encounter scaramough for the first time and thus know him once you find him first in inazuma but players who didnt play that event got new dialogue based on the fact that they dont know him in inazuma, thus far there hasnt been any event that was that important for the story and most story content in events will be told in the main story at some point so the only thing you realy miss out are stuff like limited weapons especially if you take like furina currently, one of her strongest weapons is the limited event weapon you got when dragonspine was released and this can be bad but there are alternatives all the time and her best in slot is still a banner weapon so it really depends. FOMO in my opinion is a very big deal and problem with genshin and gacha games in general and i do wish that hoyo is going to fix that in the future, putting stuff in banners or other shops can be a really good way to allow future players to experience the same as veteran players but we will see, they did add shops for toys from the mid summer event and you can buy all the missed instruments so far so theres hope that you might be able to get other stuff in the future as well
Tldr: Genshin is a good game and its never to late to start, the stuff you do miss isnt that significant but can be bad depending from person to person but its worth giving it a try

I would just like to say that I started playing Genshin when Liyue was first released and stopped playing when Inazuma was released due to school related reasons, however I created a new account a 2 weeks ago so I would be able to experience what it is like to play as a new player even though the game has now expanded so much, it was overwhelming at first, but as long a you go at your own pace you will still enjoy the game. At first I was rushing to try and go back to where I left off, but it proved to be better if I stopped rushing the story since the world is more open and there ae more places to see, I actually enjoyed travelling the world than continuing the story, since the world level mechanic makes it easy for new players to got places such as Fontaine and fight monsters there even with the starter party (Kaeya, Lisa, Amber, and Traveler).

the biggest reason my friends stopped playing soon after starting was because they pulled from the wishing banner and received characters that they are literally unable to build because the map is locked. F.e one of my friends pulled from the limited banner when she started and got Kokomi. After realizing she needs weeks maybe months of gameplay to even reach the area where Kokomi is, she lost interest for the game. Same happened to my other friends who were disappointed with the fact they received a character they are unable to play or are unable to build for the hours and hours of gameplay ahead of them

    • @saurusness

Yeah I think for some that turns into motivation to grind (and possibly skip a good story), while others simply throw in the towels and say they cba - either way I feel like there are NO winner when ascension mats are locked. Ability to trade for them with NPCs would be one of the best QoL updates especially for early game players!

Aside from missing the "canon" events like the previous Lantern Rite festivals, starting a fresh new game now is awesome, aside from all the QoL improvements that they have implemented since, you also get to play the entire story content from Mondstadt to Fontaine in one go which is well worth like a ~$60 paid game. Add the exploration, side quests, world quests, character story quests and you get a LOT of content for a FREE-TO-PLAY game.

I've started playing 2 years ago but had to stop immediately due to certain circumstances (I stopped at Dvalin's quest). I created another account last year to start anew and it's... an excruciating experience. None of my friends really gave me a hint on how to play properly and all I did was speedran quests for Primogems since I want to collect characters that I like (lucky to win Nahida on my first 5050 at 23 pity). Only when I played Honkai: Star Rail that I get the artifact and talents system. All I thought that all I had to do was level up my character and put "good artifacts" for them to get stronger. My friends helped a lot on farming tho but in terms of explanation, I had to find out everything for myself. Ire-logged back on my old account to fix some things and just enjoy the game and lore, and take everything slowly rather than speedrunning everything + saving up for Klee since she's one of the reasons why I wanted to play in the first place. Sometimes I just want to quit because of the burnout on the amount of quests that I missed over the years (I'm also having war flashbacks on the process I had to go through to get Alhaitham) but now that I got most characters that I wanted, I just want to indulge myself in the game after a long stressful day and just enjoy the scenery + quests. It's just sad that I missed out on some major parts of the lore due to story events being time-limited.

Never could play Genshin from laumch because I never had a phone that could uphold it, no less the money. Now that I have a good phone, it was the first game I downloaded (also pokemon go 😂). After playing for 2 weeks with something of limited time (married) Im at world level 29, starting to do liyue stuff. Im more of story person so I take it slowly. Im at spiral abyss 5 too, but havent focused on trying to push until levek 30. Just remmeber that those damage showcases are in no way realistic representation of realistic damage! The ones that are legitimate spend sometimes hours re-setting their teams and re-recording the fights to get that *perfect* clip where every buff lines up exactly right, and they often use food buffs, and take advanate of domain buffs as well. Some people go against weaker enemies (you can tell if you can't see enemy level), and the worst ones of all: those who use private modded servers with their own rules where they can manipulate everything from character stats to enemy resistance etc.
If it seems "too good to be true" it probably is :D
(and I mean this also in reference to the legitimate clips; it's usually very far from their average highest hits, and far beyond the sort of damage you'd ever need to do in this game)
