Love all the casts in this drama. Leo and Dilraba are sooo good. Dilraba acting keeps getting better and better. Yang Yang is my favorite Chinese actor. Now Leo is also becoming my favorite actor.
Agree! I liked Leo's previous work but I am amazed at how he is able to portray such a mature character, and that they actually have good chemistry. He is definitely one to look out for. And I'm also surprised that I like Dilraba playing such a strong character, she's doing an amazing job too.
Yang Yang can never put this type of expression (emotions,sorrows and coldness all together at a same time) I believe. He always has a straight face,though he acts good undoubtedly but this role is only meant for Leo(though I love XuKai the most)but you can't compare with others🥰

ik changge can be quite stubborn but i won’t entirely blame her, the khatun put these things in her mind that she could save luo on behalf of the plain’s people. knowing how much changge has suffered, anyone in her place would have wanted to save luo but that old man had simply no will to live and changge and sun’s mother’s efforts were wasted. who all died cuz of changge? sun’s mother died cuz khatun got involved. that old luo solely died cuz he wanted too. she lost her parents, her besties, a brother she made on her way and even the people she met later who genuinely cared for her (the governor and his wife) they certainly didn’t die because of her. y’all shouldn’t forget the entire plot on the basis of one episode.

Yes, Changge is stubborn in the sense that she always does what she thinks is right for her people because she has been raised as a princess and feels responsible for them. I am rewatching this drama after watching Love like the Galaxy. I think The Long Ballad is better than LLTG. With the young talented cast, this drama is iconic.
I like TLB better too. LLTG's one-way love story sucked and the female lead in that one was so unlikable that I almost couldn't tolerate her. Phew, if you thought Changge is stubborn and annoying, Shao Shang from LLTG is _way_ worse. Changge is so much more mature and she takes responsibility for her own actions and errors. She also wants to change and to better herself, and she isn't all about victimizing herself and giving herself excuses the way Shao Shang is. 😤
No. LLTG was the first Chinese drama I given a 9 and The Long Ballad is no where near it in my opinion. The romance here is stale and so one sided, Changge is very insufferable and the fact after everything she did, she will still be forgiven and liked is why this drama will never be a good drama for me. Shaosang never was the cause of death of her lover's mother so y'all are comedians to say she is worse than Changge.

Sun and Changge actually had respect, appreciation, and admiration for one another from way early on. They understood one another well enough to the point where they didn't hold grudges or try to punish one another even when they were enemies and had to take actions that conflicted each other. Changge was willing to follow Sun anywhere. Shao Shang was LBY's fiance yet couldn't even see any good in him unless others forced her to and it wasn't until the last few minutes of the drama did she acknowledge his kindness. She consistently complained about him for 99% of the drama. LBY spoiled her while she bossed him around and consistently ignored his requests not to involve herself, not even when he warned she might harm him or the country in the process. She didn't care. She loved herself more than anything or anyone else and only cared about her own agendas to help those she wanted to, even enemies like Wang Ling and the Crown Princess. Again, she didn't care about harming LBY in the process. Look no further than EP27 in LLTG for how horrible she treated him. That was a sign of what was to come, the toxicity and her blaming everything on him whenever issues came up in the relationship. There was so much negativity to LLTG's main love story...mostly no thanks to Shao Shang's immaturity and brattiness. Wu Lei is my fav actor and I do not want to relive how he was treated in that drama by the female lead character. Traumatizing.

@@divinearia1601 You said it! I know we're supposed to separate the actor and the character but it was hard to take Leo Wu's character being treated so poorly in LLTG by his one-great-love. It would have been fine if he was treated poorly by others but still had the love of his beloved. It sort of makes it all bearable to at least have his love rewarded. But not the other way around. I have been re-watching some scenes from LLTG but only those where he is in his fierce general mode doing what he does best, his scenes with the Emperor which tickles me to no end and some happy scenes between him and CSS (which were quite limited). Needed some closure for Leo Wu's hard work in that drama while trying to forget how underserving CSS is.
I get that Changge made a big mistake by being too impulsive, too desperate and not listening to Sun(and that's something we have to acknowledge) but I'm surprised that some people seem to be angrier with her than with She'er, the one who was directly responsible for Alir's death. Changge is a very mature character who takes responsibility for her actions, is regretful, acknowledges her errors, and tries to grow and better herself. Those are good qualities to have. She's amazing in that she can put her people and country above herself by overlooking those who destroyed her family/her personal life and even helping them in return. Don't think I would have been generous enough to do that myself.

Sher isn't that bad. He's remorseful about Alir accidental death and he truly appreciate Sun whom he grow up with. It's his assistant who's trying to make him see Sun as an enemy.
She'er is petty, immature, naive, and easily led astray by others. He can't even genuinely own up to his own actions. Someone like that could never be a great leader so I have no clue why he feels the need to compete with Sun to be the next Great Khan. He has so much growing to do.

Agree! I liked Leo's previous work but I am amazed at how he is able to portray such a mature character, and that they actually have good chemistry. He is definitely one to look out for. And I'm also surprised that I like Dilraba playing such a strong character, she's doing an amazing job too.

ik changge can be quite stubborn but i won’t entirely blame her, the khatun put these things in her mind that she could save luo on behalf of the plain’s people. knowing how much changge has suffered, anyone in her place would have wanted to save luo but that old man had simply no will to live and changge and sun’s mother’s efforts were wasted. who all died cuz of changge? sun’s mother died cuz khatun got involved. that old luo solely died cuz he wanted too. she lost her parents, her besties, a brother she made on her way and even the people she met later who genuinely cared for her (the governor and his wife) they certainly didn’t die because of her. y’all shouldn’t forget the entire plot on the basis of one episode.

I am rewatching this drama after watching Love like the Galaxy. I think The Long Ballad is better than LLTG. With the young talented cast, this drama is iconic.
I like TLB better too. LLTG's one-way love story sucked and the female lead in that one was so unlikable that I almost couldn't tolerate her. Phew, if you thought Changge is stubborn and annoying, Shao Shang from LLTG is _way_ worse. Changge is so much more mature and she takes responsibility for her own actions and errors. She also wants to change and to better herself, and she isn't all about victimizing herself and giving herself excuses the way Shao Shang is. 😤
No. LLTG was the first Chinese drama I given a 9 and The Long Ballad is no where near it in my opinion. The romance here is stale and so one sided, Changge is very insufferable and the fact after everything she did, she will still be forgiven and liked is why this drama will never be a good drama for me. Shaosang never was the cause of death of her lover's mother so y'all are comedians to say she is worse than Changge.

Girl never apologized for anything in the entire drama. It was always "poor me, boo-hoo-hoo" this and "poor me, boo-hoo-hoo" that. She refused to take responsibility for anything, to change or better herself. She used the ridiculous excuse that she didn't want to be "controlled" as justification for her behaviors, even when others were giving her perfectly reasonable advice that she should have listened to. Hypocritical girl even had the nerve to punish everyone else for _many years_ for not being perfect when she herself was full of flaws, even demanding to be accepted _exactly_ as she was. And for being so angry with LBY for breaking a promise to her, it's so hilarious she broke her own promise to herself in the end to never forgive him. Hypocrite thinks she should be the only one allowed to break promises or what??? And there is no way the love in TLB is more one-sided. Sun and Changge actually had respect, appreciation, and admiration for one another from way early on. They understood one another well enough to the point where they didn't hold grudges or try to punish one another even when they were enemies and had to take actions that conflicted each other. Changge was willing to follow Sun anywhere. Shao Shang was LBY's fiance yet couldn't even see any good in him unless others forced her to and it wasn't until the last few minutes of the drama did she acknowledge his kindness. She consistently complained about him for 99% of the drama. LBY spoiled her while she bossed him around and consistently ignored his requests not to involve herself, not even when he warned she might harm him or the country in the process. She didn't care. She loved herself more than anything or anyone else and only cared about her own agendas to help those she wanted to, even enemies like Wang Ling and the Crown Princess. Again, she didn't care about harming LBY in the process. Look no further than EP27 in LLTG for how horrible she treated him. That was a sign of what was to come, the toxicity and her blaming everything on him whenever issues came up in the relationship. There was so much negativity to LLTG's main love story...mostly no thanks to Shao Shang's immaturity and brattiness. Wu Lei is my fav actor and I do not want to relive how he was treated in that drama by the female lead character. Traumatizing.

@@divinearia1601 You said it! I know we're supposed to separate the actor and the character but it was hard to take Leo Wu's character being treated so poorly in LLTG by his one-great-love. It would have been fine if he was treated poorly by others but still had the love of his beloved. It sort of makes it all bearable to at least have his love rewarded. But not the other way around. I have been re-watching some scenes from LLTG but only those where he is in his fierce general mode doing what he does best, his scenes with the Emperor which tickles me to no end and some happy scenes between him and CSS (which were quite limited). Needed some closure for Leo Wu's hard work in that drama while trying to forget how underserving CSS is.

I get that Changge made a big mistake by being too impulsive, too desperate and not listening to Sun(and that's something we have to acknowledge) but I'm surprised that some people seem to be angrier with her than with She'er, the one who was directly responsible for Alir's death. Changge is a very mature character who takes responsibility for her actions, is regretful, acknowledges her errors, and tries to grow and better herself. Those are good qualities to have. She's amazing in that she can put her people and country above herself by overlooking those who destroyed her family/her personal life and even helping them in return. Don't think I would have been generous enough to do that myself.

I love this drama bc dilraba is there and the whole plot and Leo is there but did you notice on minute 10:52 the horse is not even moving but what’s supposed to be moving. And when they’re riding the horses their hair don’t move in some cuts. Haha. Anyways I still love it.
