From the written intro you see that this young woman is a colon cancer survivor. Her enthusiasm, positive attitude and willingness to talk us through the procedure is refreshing. If you don’t need the encouragement that’s great - just move on - no need to leave negative comments. Many people are fearful & confused by the many details of the prep. This video and the helpful comments may help first time people get through the process. I like the comment from the person who makes homemade chicken broth. I do the same & it is so much better than store bought.
I was specifically told NO GUMMY BEARS by my doctors office. Jello is ok, but gummy bears are not, even if they are clear. This is because they dont completely dissolve.
@@latosa18, mine is tomorrow, Thursday too. I last ate at yesterday, Tuesday @noon. Just scrambled eggs. Took the Dulcolax tabs and Magnesium Citrate late yesterday afternoon. Honestly, I could EASILY drink that magnesium citrate lemon flavor. I thought it tasted good actually. It's slightly carbonated and tastes like a sweet Sprite. It works good too because it "cleans you out" but not violently. I went to sleep and woke up a few times to use the bathroom. But I wasn't "dieing" trying to get there. I've seen a lot of places that use Magnesium Citrate for prep. Drink 3 or 4 x 10 ounce bottles. I could EASILY do that prep. Unfortunately, I have to take 4 Dulcolax tabs @5 and drink 2 liters of Colytely starting @6 PM. Than have to wake up around 3 - 4 AM and drink the other half. I'm ABSOLUTELY DREADING this Colytely. That Magnesium Citrate is really good. Next time, I'm doing that instead. Best of luck. Both be on the table tomorrow. 😱😱😱😱😱😱
@@Drewg351 my appt is at 10:45 tomorrow. So no sleep tonight, that's for sure. I go every other year due to Lynch Syndrome gene mutation. Fun stuff lol. Not!
My doc said gelatine gummies are just fine!! I seriously have a hard time believing a gelatine gummy would make it through the stomach AND the small intestine without dissolving! They are looking at your colon!
for all those worrying about the sugar. unless you have glucose issues the amount of sugar is not an issue. this is for one day. a day where you aren’t eating anything anyway so you do need some calories to function.
Gummy bears have solids in the recipe. Dissolving does nothing. For the best results, to get in get out without hearing "you weren't Cleaned out, so reschedule another one" -- do what the the doctor doesn't tell you that if you stick with Jello and clear broth for 2 days before you go under you'll get out of there and not get any grief. The colon is like 20 ft long. If you're over 45, less is more ... That means the least amount of anything you can see through, for two full days before you go "under" to have a 14-foot scope stuck up your rear end, with a camera and a light, suck-it-up drink clear liquids is: lime Jell-O, fat-free chicken broth, Sprite is ok, coffee/tea plain, crystal lite lemonade (no other kind of lemonade tho), "lemon-lime Gatorade,"-- and a water in between every single one of them a whole day long before you start drinking your lavage mixture the evening before. Things they don't tell you in the doctor's office will help you in the long run. Excuse the pun. Happy- hungry. If you can see through it, then it's clear liquid. quit your complaining -- enjoy the propofol.
My doctor's office said no gummies ☹️. My procedure is tomorrow.
thanks for the comment!

The trick is to just do it. Because if you don't, you will have to repeat the whole damn procedure.

Well thanks for killing that idea (LOL). Guess I'll cross this off my list. This is gonna be brutal. I have mine this Thursday. Dreading it.
Mine is tomorrow. I feel like my stomach is eating my spine! Lol

I had clear/yellow gummy bears and the doctor said my body was very well prepared for my colonoscopy.

You don't need sugar to function, your body makes it through gluconeogenesis.
@@HeroC14 hey. if you like it, I love it

Great advice and completely correct!
How late can you eat these before the day of your colonoscopy?
I love this idea but I am diabetic and I guess I need to find sugar free ones.
She keeps calling them gummy bears, but they are gummy savors and gummy worms.
I am trying to use home made chicken broth from chicken legs, the fat and salt in it maybe be helpful I am hoping.
Yes, that's great liquid to eat. Warm and comforting to boot!
Great idea! I did this, too!
That's a lot of sugar but given that the options are limited and it's only for a short period of time, that's doable.
Trader Joes sells jelly candy. I eat the yellow ones and I am happy! I feel this is such a treat because I usually do not eat cardy. Yummmmmmy
Can’t you simply ‘go without’ for a day or two? It’s not difficult
I am going to turn mine into a religious fast for 2 birds with one stone. Grab the Bible!
It’s difficult if you get feint or hangry with a low blood sugar level.
Good idea if doc says ok but now they're saying avoid orange also
Nice share thank you
I fast all the time. You can make your own gummies w/o all that sugar!
So, she had the procedure twice, year for year! You know what that tells me!?
That she has a medical condition that requires a yearly colonoscopy?
No, I don’t know what this tells you. I’m having a colonoscopy+endoscopy for a second time, and it’s only been a little over a year.
Worst T-shirt ever
😂😂😂
So design one as a gift to the organization🎁
Kind of like "Root Canal Enthusiast" 🙂
Honestly, I don't see the point. Gummies are just pure sugar. Yeah, they're a "treat" for some I suppose, but they're just empty calories.

Is this a joke?
They paid her to show us this pathetic trick, read the shirt 🤣
