I was a sophomore too - I would give anything to relive that year. First serious girlfriend, finally got good at guitar, started driving mom’s Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme around on my own. Covered in zits.
For some reason, my squirrel brain loves working with these commercial compilations in the background. I really tune them out so I can focus on the task at hand.
Its funny, that trailer really doesn't do the show justice. The show is a smartly written critique that lampoons American taboo's, particularly conservative 'family values', but the trailer makes it look like just another generic, boring, and safe 'family values' show with none of the irony.
This is 95 going into 96. I can tell from the Fox NFL game break. Steelers and Cowboys play in Super Bowl XXX that year. O'Donnell and Hastings still bring pain, even after three AFC Championships in the ensuing 15 years.
This was the year my first kid was born it's funny because I remember a lot of these commercials like it was yesterday, I can't believe it's been 25 years
me and the other younger kids i lived with always played our gameboy while the grown ups were sleeping and the older kids were in thire rooms playing video games or something it was way past our bedtime and we had no one to tell us bedtime so we would stay up and do whatever we wanted
I'm liking how the toyota ad at 2:20 is using the same stock music as Ren & Stimpy. I don't give a shit about buying one car over another, but that music always makes me smile. :)
oh gawd. A commercial is in this thing that is advertising a new show that comes out in two weeks called King of the Hill. I'm just gonna go make my casket and get ready for bed.
I wish military commercials were still like this. This is how it should be. to days ads make me wanna barf 4:15 also, music was way better in these comercials .
Some thoughts ...wow 1996 seems like yesterday to me, 88 cent double cheeseburgers?, Rip Little Richard, That Toyota Corolla is probably still running, hated King of the Hill, those Sega genesis graphics wow and the 90's were okay but the 80's were better.....
I skipped past these with my vcr back then; it's only fair that I watch them now.
Oh man. I was hit with nostalgia with the Sprite commercial at 3:16.
I could just relive the year over and over.
pimple-faced hs sophomore, schoolwork, homework, exams, baseball, girls. the busiest days of my life
