But it is kind of mind-boggling that there is listing after listing of copyright infringed material in so many stores, and they never seem to get shut down. And many many listings that I scroll through are done haphazardly, and the mock-ups look absolutely atrocious like a child made them. Yet those stores are up and running, and they even have items in shopping carts. It really amazes me, and it's very frustrating for those of us who try to create a full-time business and run it professionally.
So many use Comfort Colors shirts and only sell Bella Canvas too!! Someone brught up whose gonna notice the difference in Comfort Colors or Bella Canvas, I AM....HUGE DIFFERENCE TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT PRODUCTS! I'd be really upset if i ordered something that was a comfort Color Mockup and recieved a thin Bella Canvas T-shirt-Just sayin-April
It's not up to Etsy to pull listings that infringe copyright or trademarks. The entity themselves have to make the complaint first. So if you see an infringement, notify the company it belongs to.
You're not understanding at all. None of those shops will last! Check their sales numbers for proof. I felt the same way as you till I did this. They are all flashes in the pan and it is a matter of IF and not when they will get banned. As far as low quality photos being successful well guess what? What if I told you consistent effort beats quality every time... EVERY TIME. Say it with me... consistency beats quality! The algorithm will reward a consistent hard worker over an over thinker that tried to perfect every listing. Trust me. PioneerPrint3D was SAVED on etsy thanks to this mindset.

I can`t agree more with you. I knew AI changes are coming, I just never realized I will be the victim of it as I do handmade. Lo and behold, my listings that I sell for half decade with big success started to be suspended one by one. I have got a final warning and more suspension happened. I am waiting 5th week to hear back from Etsy support, escalated the ticket twice, no answer. I think AI bots flagged my listings and there no way i can defend my honest work.
@@FreeBellatrix The creators of Etsy doesn't care, they just wanna collect their portion. If YOU have a problem that's fine as long as it's not THEIR problem. That's why theirs no direct phone number, that tells you all you need to know. Start looking for other company's like etsy.

No matter how much this hurts and how long (probably years) it will take to generate the income I had from Etsy, I can no longer support a platform that doesn't care about sellers. They put so much focus on sales but don't realize that it's people like me who provide outstanding customer service and product to buyers.

When the answer came it was exactly the same as before, just referring to their handmade policies, no help at all. This company's behaviour is ridiculous. I’m a buyer and got permanently suspende and have no idea why. They said “I see that it was permanently suspended for violating Etsy’s Terms of Use, specifically due to account practices, behavior, or activity that does not follow our policies” But I literally only bought stuff.
I have some products I make myself and some POD. I use AI for some of my designs, and to generate titles and descriptions so I am marking the box AI helped. If I am marking the box saying I used AI to assist me do I also need to add AI was used in my listing description?

Why doesn't Etsy just ban all new accounts for 6 months or a year until they get their act together?
the big problem (POD example) is you can't bulk edit listings in order to switch from "I made it" to "another company or person". Imagine you have a store with 1000 items...
Great video, is there a way to change all your listing descriptions to 'Used with help of an AI generator' at once? If I have to manualy change hundreds of listings it's go to be a huge timesink.
Before all this I have been copying a listing and changing keywords out, but the shirts have been the same. As an example same shirt and design layout but switched dog breeds on the design. After the update does this mean I need to at least create a listing from scratch just to make sure that I get the questions that are now asked? Do I have to go through all listings that ai was used?
I am still confused by this. I make custom pens, i make the body of the pens from scratch, which is then added to a kit that i purchase and assemble them together. Which one am i supposed to select?

🚫 my shop was permanently shut yesterday. My appeal denied. Had requested a callback from Etsy. Nothing they can do. I had about 12 sales in total since opening my shop in Jan 2024. I think maybe my mock-ups didn’t follow their new policy for POD listings? Or I have infringed on IP/Trademark policies ?? 🤔 I’m kinda glad I’m not part of the “Etsy cult” anymore. I’ve cancelled my Canva subscription, cleaned up my iPad images, unsubscribed from Etsy content creators (and their bs), and I’m getting on with my life 🤸🏽♀️✨
This is fine for all future listings but what about listings you already have up? Does Etsy expect people with hundreds or thousands of listings to go and update this information one by one? There's no way to do that in bulk is there?
@@lamalama9955 I don't know if you can on a phone but on a computer, you open the listing, go to the section that says Details - Core details and click on Change. There you will see all of the options Chris shows in the video.
It's still completely flawed because Etsy asks who made it when half of Etsy items for sale are made by a designer that outsources the physical product. So you tell us, who made it, the designer or the outsourcer. This type of complete disconnection is what happens when corporate clowns don't actually buy from their own platform.
The question is not who designed it, it's who made it. So if you're a POD seller, yes you're designing the product but you're not making the product. It's not a digital product right. The whole point of POD is you outsource the production of the product.

Sorry! But that explanation is totally confusing. Please have a look again at the answer option "It's an item my shop alters". In the text there is clearly said "My shop alters a base item, such as a Tshirt or a mug. What if not this is Print on Demand??? So this option is what you have to select when you do PoD and this option is only available when you primarily select "I did" to the question "Who made it".

For me tue example Etsy is giving in this option is quite clear „print on demand“, especially the example they give. When I put „Another company or person“ then I can only say „a finished product“ and not further detail that I used AI with the design for example. But unfortunately I am afraid that this discussion will continue until Etsy gives us more clarity. Every PoD RUclipsr has his own interpretation currently :-(

You don't need to mention you used AI for descriptions. It's only when you use it for designs/images, which is what customers buy

What if you sometimes purchase images to use in your POD design - how can you know whether these are created with AI?
With the AI part it should be a choice a portion was made with AI as the rest was done by me and placement.
