How often are the school boundary lines changed ? Currently live in SRR and we’re zoned for LHISD. But some areas in my neighborhood are zoned for GISD. I want my kids to attend LHISD schools and I’m a bit worried about boundaries changing.

For us it has changed a lot! There are a few areas with GT addresses that are zoned for LHISD and vice versa. The changes we've experienced led to my son attending a new elementary each year, but they were all LHISD. He's going into high school now and with the new high school opening up in 2026 we will see how they start it out. It will be located off of CR 258 between 29 and Ronald Regan. I'm hoping they start with freshman and add a grade level each year, for the first 4 years.
From what I have seen as long as you aren't in Santa Rita (north) you should be ok. They are building a GTISD elementary school in Santa Rita (north) for the residents that live in that part of SRR. LH will be a large city by the time it's all built out. I imagine it will be similar to Round Rock.
