My gosh...we’re so damn talented it’s beautiful
Don't we all LOVE reelblack for providing us with these absolute gems. It's amazing how those fellas make playing those instruments seem really easy, but as a cellist, I can confirm that the bass player at the end did a difficult outro playing that instrument in reverse.
The choreography was Awesome.. The clip was fun to watch and very entertaining ..
Wow! That's some talent! Alot of energy thanks for sharing!😍
Couldn't breathe & sing & dance & play an instrument like that, let alone all at the same time
🤣🤣🤣
So talented black musicians and dancers.
3 minutes and 10 seconds of blazing fire!! I was totally entertained.
Back in those days… one had to be a Jack of all trades 🎩🗝🙏🏼💰🎵
🗣🎤 Any time I think of tap dance it’s either old skool tap like the Nichols brothers. Or new school tap like the Hines brothers. Then I saw the play “Stomp” & Savion Glover became the newest tap dancer & still reigns supreme 💞
You must broaden your perspective.
"Sunshine" Sammy Morrison the first child contracted to the "Our Gang" series and the only Black member of the "East Side Kids" comedies !!!
I'm just in Aww, 77 years ago. Thanks for this
Talented, Gifted and Skilled. Not many has all that And Stamina too !?? Not Thanks for posting and sharing this. I bet my parents would've been able to name and identify each player/ dancer/actor/singer ♥️🥰♥️
It is just fantastic, thank you for this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Not only are they all talented but they all were really nice looking and big fella had sum moves .....
Absolutely wonderful 👌👌👌👌👌💕💕👏👏👏👏
Step bros....pure God given talent... The chorography to the smallest detail is amazing .
Black people have been getting lit for decades. lol
Hence, all of the copycats!
@@angeliqueellis2979 who’s copying?
@@treefiddy5424 White people. Follow and study the history...
Lots of energie in those times possible Amen.Great dansers and prayers.
Maybe James Brown's influence especially when they hit the split. James Brown was born in 1933 he was 10 when this came out...
Thanks for posting this!
I am speechless 🙊
I thought the Nicholas Brothers jumping down the steps in "Stormy Weather" was crazy! These dudes did whole flips...INTO SPLITS!! THEREFORE, imposters: please stop trying to alter the timeline of influence. BLACK American culture is the origin for MANY styles of music and dance. I'm super petty, and I will pull receipts such as this video....and many other forms of: old films, VHS tapes, photos, old literature.....I don't play.✌🏾
Impostors ? Hardly. 🐩💨
Who are you referring to as "imposters"?
What the hell are you talking about? The Nicholas brothers did flips into splits especially Harold. Harold did a back flip off a column and landed into a split. You might want to watch more of the Nicholas brothers instead of just stormy Weather
Look man you can never deny the talent.
Eccellenza...Fantastico!!..
One take?
It's the Talent for me.
❤👍🌞👍❤
Brilliant routine from Morrison & The Step Brothers - all performed in a SINGLE TAKE.
Hello, to the ReelBlack Family. I just want to clear up an error. The featured dancers are the Step Brothers. Ernest 'Sunshine Sammy' Morrison appears as a replacement for one of the original members. The Four Step Brothers were billed as "The Eight Feet of Rhythm". They were not related. Peace and Blessings!
Until I saw this number, I had no idea Sunshine Sammy could dance and sing like this. I grew up watching him in those old Bowery Boys movies with Leo Gorcey and Huntz Hall, and I think before that he had been known as a child star, one of the original Our Gang kids. I think he was there before Farina. And in all that time I NEVER saw him dance. But this clip? Wow!
@@TricksterDa Ernie Morrison is recognized as the original member of the Our Gang series and the first Black to be signed to a studio contract. During his adult years, he became the only Black member of The East Side Gang. He does a nice bit of hoofing in That Gang of Mine that was released in 1940. It also featured Clarence Muse in a key role. Your handle stirs up a memory for me.
I had the great pleasure to interview Richard Wesley, the writer, years ago after watching his riveting play, The Mighty Gents. One of the performers in this outstanding drama who killed it with his commanding acting was Morgan Freeman.
When I asked Mr. Wesley about his doing a screenplay for Uptown Saturday Night, a story that was filled with comedy and some buffoonery, contrary to the more serious themes of his plays, he responded, "I have kids to put through college."
Thank you for your viewing support. Peace and Blessings!
@@charleswoods9809, they both graduated. And so nice to make contact with you again after all these years. :)-
@@TricksterDa The same here. One love. Peace and Blessings!
Stereotypical perhaps...Talented ABSOLUTELY!
Where was the stereotype? I thought it was typical of ( in this case black) artists showing fantastic talent, and seemingly enjoying every minute of it. The choeography was superb.
Damn....THAT'S talent.
A fun classical clip of masterful dancing and pure joy! Thank you, Mike. :).
I Love It!
I see Carmen Miranda in the beginning...
GOT TO WATCH IT AGAIN... AGAIN... again...
I didn't know that Re-Run from the What's Happening!! TV show could play the stand-up bass!
LoL 😔 RIP
@@waldolydecker8118 Brotha, I said it as a joke, and nothing more. This movie was shot before actor Fred "Re-Run" Berry was even born, and everyone knows this. I just thought the resemblance was worth mentioning, in a lighthearted way. Chill, bro...
The originals 👊🏽
I thought that was Martin Lawrence in the thumb nail.😂
Me too son
Excellence.
Delicious-⚡⚡⚡ Fast / on point/ and Mesmerizing .
*I appreciate the video and their talent in this 1944 video. The only thing that concerns me is when you look into the past, you see common EYE bucking.*
Good to know I wasn’t the only one who noticed that
if you wanted that pay check this was the requirement from the ones who were. Many, like most in this group processed their hair so white audiences would be more comfortable
Hmm...Is that why weaves are common today ?
Black entertainers were doing just that...! Its a job not who you are. They were cognitive of this ,besides nothing beats smiling, especially when life is troublesome. All they had was their stage performances. It was their one moment when nothing else mattered...Just them and their craft..
Fred Astaire could NEVER
Gene Kelly could NEVER
Oh yes he could.
Wow! Astounding routine! Wonder how many takes it took?
