God MC! Yes, to me this is the perfect song. It doesn't lack anywhere. This came out in '91 but image is '86-87. There was literally nothing like Rakim. You can bang some of his stuff in the ride but his music is, sit down, blaze up, and listen to what this man is saying type music He's still my favorite rapper. Check out "My melody" "I ain't no joke" "Mahogany" - This one might not be the causal fans favorite but I love it. Great reaction ✌🏾
4:28 love how he stops it n says ‘this like a movie’… did he know then line ‘say hi to the bad guy’ is Pacino from Scarface? There’s so many pop culture references in these songs it’s crazy
Marley Marl is the Producer ..on all of Rakims Tracks.. he is one of the greatest Hip Hop producers . Ever.. this song was written and featured in the Movie Juice...starring Tupac Shakur
Rakim made the best himself. There’s. Video on RUclips where he talks about how Pete Rock showed him how to cut and use the SP1200 and used it to make the beat
New Year Old School. Pink Floyd to Rakim, that's what's up. Classic hits are I ain't no joke. Don't sweat the technique. Microphone Fiend 🎤 Enjoy my man!
No Cap b4 you react Rakim is Number 1 GOD MC NO QUESTION y’all gotta catch up but I’m glad y’all young ins are finally listen ing to true Hip Hop one Luv let’s take hip hop back Lyrical genius
Uptown Anthem - Naughty By Nature It's Going Down - EPMD Come On Let's Move It - Special Ed Funky For You - Nice & Smooth Ruff,Rugged & Raw - Double XX Posse Make Some Noise- Double XX Posse
FOR ME. This is the best Rap song ever written. It is made of what are the corner stones of rap. - Voice: Rakim's voice is fitted for this. He manages to pull out a powerful voice while remaining conversational. - Cadence: It is what many rappers lack, and why for me Eminem is not the Goat. The delivery matches the rythmics of the music. His ability to chance the tempo of his delivery as the song progresses is uncanny. His rap, harmonizes with the melllow part of the song, switching from fast to slow and fast again. The rap becomes a song. - Rhyming: There phonic rhymes within rhymes in that song. There are rhymes are written rhymes. - Lyricism: this just delivers. The quality is just up ahead. The suggestive inuendos are intertwined with social references. Even the scarce usage of the "N" word (which is nit in Rakim's habit) is to to give context and atmosphere to the song. - Storytelling: You listen and see the whole story's evolution in your mind. It is relatable to the movie itself but also to a lot of situtions. The story has a main character that evolves, questions himself, jas ko regards and gets killed. You can revisit the whole story from the end, when he gets killed and relates to you the events that lead to his death. BRILLIANT!!!

Rakim is god tier emcee..Rakim is the first emcee to call himself GOD..Shocked me when I heard it..
If you haven't noticed, Rakim was one of the last rappers to write choruses for his songs. That era usually had the deejay cut in some sampled verses.
Marley Marl is the Producer ..on all of Rakims Tracks.. he is one of the greatest Hip Hop producers . Ever.. this song was written and featured in the Movie Juice...starring Tupac Shakur
Marley only did production on a couple of tracks on the paid in full album, nothing else, Rakim produced this track here
