NRS called the game "Mortal Kombat 1" because only 1 character in the game is viable for comp lol. You know your game is unbalanced & busted when every single player in a major tournament only uses 1 or 2 characters & the same 2 assists. Johnny Cage, Peacemaker, Khameleon, Kano ad nauseum. Tom Brady can be a bit of a Negative Nancy, but he's not wrong. He's been calling this out for ages & nobody at NRS is listening. Only 2 characters being viable at comp is going to kill your game.
Actually it used yo be Raiden before the nerf, so at least I can say Johnnys are fun to watch since they aren’t brain dead zoners. MK at its core was rush down gameplay and the last game loyal to that dynamic was MKX. Secondly Johnny is nowhere near OP anymore, everything he has is to make up for the lack of projectiles, now for Johnny it all depends on the player because I’m God rank in KL and I very rarely lose to them. Peacemaker isn’t OP but he’s hella annoying for sure. It’s just a skill issue on your end.

Actually that’s not the case. The majority of the cast is viable for comp and the Kameos too. Everyone just wants to find the easiest way possible to win due to all that money on the line. Remember NRS hasn’t done a major tournament with this kind of money in years. So many other characters are at the tournament level but some pros don’t think for themselves or try to put in the work with other characters. It’s as simple as that. Ashra, Sindel, Omni Man, Liu Kang, Lie Mei, Ermac, Rain, Shao, Kenshi, Lao etc. are all at tournament level. It all comes down to who’s using them. If you have the best players in the world using just PM and Johnny cage then you’re only gona think those are the only 2 viable. Everyone wants to win money and they don’t care about your entertainment as a spectator.
