30 years of the 201 class

  • in 1994 the first 201 class (the most powerful, fast and heavy locomotive in Irish history) was delivered by airplane. the locomotive was part of a huge and badly needed investment in Irish railways. unfortunately many of the class where withdrawn long before they should have been due to the decline of loco hauled passenger trains in Ireland. however those that stayed in service certainly have had some adventure.
    to celebrate the 30th birthday of these mechanical marvels the RPSI ran the 201@30 railtour which there will be a video about soon

    hang on a minute why do I recognise that 29000, Enterprise and 131 in the same clip. but this is a fantastic video for 30 years of the 201 class
