- Brazil's ex-president Jair Bolsonaro has been barred from running for office for eight years.
Mr Bolsonaro was found guilty of abusing his power ahead of last year's presidential poll.
He had been accused of undermining Brazilian democracy by falsely claiming that the electronic ballots used were vulnerable to hacking and fraud.
Mr Bolsonaro's lawyers are expected to appeal against the verdict.

The only other option is one of the dozens of criminal investigations leads to Trump's arrest, which doesn't prevent him from running for office.
There's also a possibility that a MAGA politician wins the presidency and pardons Trump.
Bolsonaro just raised a doubt, as far as I know this is not a crime, and in the issue of the electronic voting machine, it was not clarified whether there really was a coup.

As a Brazilian, i am incredibly satisfied with him haven been banned from elections for 8 years even tho i feel is insufficient time, his banishment is just the first step to make him accountable for the 700,000 people he let die during the pandemic along with hundreds of other corruption crimes he committed during his mandate.
