My fiance is seeing a trend...she started to catch onto the videos and my purchases. They correspond so close that I already got a text saying I dont need a new tool.
Dude has a knack for picking tools we are actually considering. Think I'll wait longer on ratchet, ratcheting a bolt on/off is a non-issue 90% of the time if you take care of things and oil the threads before insertion. It's breaking them free that kills my arms and breaks my ratchets, so I'll wait for a good battery operated solution for that.
@@eideticex he tested the junkiest bunch lol. Milwaukee makes a way better ratchet than this one. I use it way more than my impacts if it's not a high torque bolt requiring half inch. My 3/8 M18 impact doesn't get used much anymore.
I have the Milwaukee and like it quite a bit, but of the four you tested the Pro Stormer impressed me the most. It's competitive with the Milwaukee at a fraction of the price.
We use a Milwaukee with a 2 amp hour battery on our snowmobile race team. I use it most of the time as opposed to regular ratchets. I charge it about once every two weeks during race season. A great tool.

This is a great idea! I'd like to see the Milwaukee 2767-20 cordless impact go head to head with the Ingersoll Rand W7152. I know a guy who is a die hard Milwaukee fanboy, and I hated that impact. I used his multiple times and it was heavy, bulky, 2 power settings only, straight on angle caused the battery to go against wheels, and the light sucked. Myself being a horse of a different color, I chose the IR W7152 because of its overall design and features. It's lighter, smaller overall length of the head nose to back, the halo light is awesome with 4 different settings, and can be used as a work light for 10 minutes in the neutral position (definitely handy under a vehicle). Also, the angle of the head helps keeps the battery end from contacting wheels when removing lug nuts, and I like the 4 different power level settings. Battery charger takes around 45 to 60 minutes to fully charge the dead 5.0ahr battery which really surprised me. The charger also has a built-in USB port for mobile device charging. It also seems to have better balance and ergonomics. IR claims 1500ft lbs reverse, vs Milwaukees 1400. I think other channels have covered this though, but I'm unsure if they were as comprehensive as PF is!
@@ENGINERESCUE86 i run the 2863-20 milwaukee impact and love it the bluetooth app lets me make 4 different torque profiles so i have 3 for wheels and one that is full power super nice to be able to do

@@AndrewBrowner I honestly don't remember. It takes the M12 batteries. Thing last forever and works great for everything I throw at it. I've been wrenching for 14 years. I previously had the little Amazon shitbox special Kimo unit and that literally caught fire within a month. JUNK. This thing is great for everything. Break whatever loose with a breaker bar and spin it in or out with this. Saves a ton of time instead of sitting there with a gear wrench or a ratchet moving it a hair at a time.
I got the brushed non-fuel model... really like the tool. Great at assembling things. Would be interested to see how the Fuel model does in this test. The head is a lot bigger.
I bought the Milwaukee because I already own their other tools. 12v and 18v. Made a huge difference changing a starter on my boat!!! So worth the money for just that job!! Unfortunately I have to change it again!!! No fault of the tool. Great video!!!
Nice thorough study. I have the Earthquake and absolutely love it. I think most people will never have a runtime issue with a cordless ratchet, but it's good info to have if you're going to use one framing a skyscraper or for some reason don't have shop air in a production setting. I'd recommend the Earthquake all day since extra batteries are pretty cheap and readily available, and the long handle makes it easy to reach into tight spaces.

Bought the prostormer about a year ago at o'reilly for $50. My absolute FAVORITE tool I own. I use it more than anything and it has saved me HOURS and many curse words sitting there trying to get bolts off with a normal ratchet or wrench.
I love my Milwaukee more than any other tool in my shop, what a lifesaver. After about 8 years of medium/heavy use I have only changed out the ratcheting mechanism once just recently. I haven't yet used my new H.F. Earthquake I bought on clearance on a whim as it weighs a ton and a half. Goodness. I am really considering a Prostormer as a backup in my toolbox for for junkyard runs. Excellent video, keep up the good work.
You’re awesome on your reviews on actually testing the products in every form. Your channel was recommended about a year ago and have been watching since then. I look forward to seeing your videos whether I’m in the market for the item or not 👍😊
Great video, now I know what to get. You saved me a lot of headaches trying to figure out what to buy, and me having to watch 50 other videos. Thank you sir
Well I can tell you from experience that the snapon one is noticeably faster than the earthquake (I have the EQ while another guy at the shop has snapon) While we both agree his snapon is the superior tool neither of us really thinks its 6 times the price superior. both get the job done though. we havent really compared torque as thats not really something we value for this specific tool. Its more spining on or off nuts and bolts when we have to take alot on or off of a motor we are repairing, particularly ones in tight spots. If we want high torque we pull out a real impact gun.
I love the videos, the tests simulate real-world conditions we run into all the time. Breaking loose by hand, spinning off partially seized or rusted fasteners, hot and cold conditions. I've been using the Milwaukee m12 brushed ratchet for six years now as a professional HD truck mechanic. Two years ago it gave me a burning smell but is still working to this day. I love its compact size with the 2.0ah battery. The rubber grip has swelled and fallen off but the tool keeps working. Some of the more powerful m12 tools like the right angle impact and the compact 3/8 impact really benefit from the 4.0 battery. True and fair comparisons have to have similar battery voltage and amp-hour ratings. The Milwaukee ratchet would have been more compact and given different numbers had the 2.0ah batteries been used. The price of the ratchet with two 2.0 batteries is also much cheaper giving it more value per dollar.
Hi! I have an idea for something to test! I'd love to see you put steel toed boots to the test to find out which brand will actually keep our feet the safest.
If this one pans out, PLEASE include the Walmart Brahma brand. I've bought a total of 3 pairs in my, the best lasting almost 2 weeks. People need to know those are junk.
@@ghostwrench2292 Ha! For one, I certainly didn't buy them back to back. The purchases spanned a timeline of approximately 10 years. And secondly, they were each a different model. First pair: Standard ankle lace-ups. I was young, inexperienced, and therefore, shallow-pocketed. Bought them for concrete work. Soles ripped off just in time for my first paycheck. Second pair: Shoes, not boots. Destroyed on about the third day of use on a factory floor, when an 8-foot length of oily 4" angle iron slipped through my gloves and onto my foot. Resulted in stitches after having a plastic shard pulled from between my toes (turns out, "steel-toe" can instead be plastic). Third pair: Slip-on ankle boots. Bought as a requirement for the relative few times I would be walking in the areas requiring them. First time in said area, my foot slipped into a crevasse and peeled the boot apart from the top seams and partial sole. Seeing they could not even tolerate a simple walk, those were the utter last straw

I'd love to see a reboot of the right angle ratchets. Looks like most major manufacturers have these at the 18/20v level. Ridgid, Dewalt, Ryobi, etc. Just a suggestion. Love the channel. Cant seem to get enough of your honest and clever ways of testing and sifting through the marketing fluff we consumers get frustrated over. Thanks for all your hard work!
Got the Milwaukee in a set with drill and driver with two batteries + bag and charger for $200. Felt like a great deal at the time, feels like a steal now!
As a professional mechanic I’d say the Milwaukee is a must have. Great warranty and performance. But my buddy has an earthquake and it’s hold up great as well.
This is the review I was waiting for. I was really on the fence between Milwaukee or Mikita and this cements the victory to Milwaukee. Thank you for this comparison!
This channel is incredible. I'd really like to see a manual 3/8" ratchet comparison. Craftsman Gunmetal, Craftsman USA, HF Icon, HF Pittsburg, Dewalt, Crescent, Milwaukee, Husky, Kobalt, Snap-On. It would be interesting to see the sealed head of the Craftsman Gunmetal vs others, as well as how a quick release mechanism affects strength.
@@ProjectFarm I also would like to see the Fuel version tested. I'm in a Facebook group for Milwaukee tools and alot of mechanics actually prefer the non Fuel version because the ratchet head is smaller. I never knew how much I needed one of these until my brother handed me his ( I was using regular ratchet) to finish taking off the bolts of the oil pan on a Peterbilt. Can't wait to finish the video later!
Great feedback. Thank you
Same with me.. ALWAYS used a regular ratchet over the last 25 years..got a cheap earthquake at a pawn shop for $25 with case and charging station to see if I liked them, best thing I may have ever bought! Lol
Not only that but the bellhousing bolts on a Peterbilt they are a pain in the rear especially the top ones you can’t even see

@project farm if you test impacts you should test the craftsman v20

Glad the Milwaukee proved itself. I've had mine for a month now and it's been great at work. Well worth the price of admission.
the brushed model like shown or the brushless fuel model?
@@AndrewBrowner I honestly don't remember. It takes the M12 batteries. Thing last forever and works great for everything I throw at it. I've been wrenching for 14 years. I previously had the little Amazon shitbox special Kimo unit and that literally caught fire within a month. JUNK.
This thing is great for everything. Break whatever loose with a breaker bar and spin it in or out with this. Saves a ton of time instead of sitting there with a gear wrench or a ratchet moving it a hair at a time.
Thanks for sharing.
I got the brushed non-fuel model... really like the tool. Great at assembling things. Would be interested to see how the Fuel model does in this test. The head is a lot bigger.

Thanks!
I thought the Earthquake was a Harbor Freight brand, but can't find them anywhere...I guess now its Hercules.

Bought the prostormer about a year ago at o'reilly for $50. My absolute FAVORITE tool I own. I use it more than anything and it has saved me HOURS and many curse words sitting there trying to get bolts off with a normal ratchet or wrench.
Great feedback on the ProStormer
I love my Milwaukee more than any other tool in my shop, what a lifesaver. After about 8 years of medium/heavy use I have only changed out the ratcheting mechanism once just recently. I haven't yet used my new H.F. Earthquake I bought on clearance on a whim as it weighs a ton and a half. Goodness. I am really considering a Prostormer as a backup in my toolbox for for junkyard runs. Excellent video, keep up the good work.

@@kim4548 Lmao. Or maybe his audience is more likely to buy the cheaper ones. Bye bye ass hat.
Thank you for the feedback!
Hi! I have an idea for something to test! I'd love to see you put steel toed boots to the test to find out which brand will actually keep our feet the safest.
Great suggestion! Thank you.
If this one pans out, PLEASE include the Walmart Brahma brand. I've bought a total of 3 pairs in my, the best lasting almost 2 weeks. People need to know those are junk.
@@TonyGingrich if a pair work boots lasted less than 2 weeks, why on earth would you have bought 2 more pairs after that?
I got several M12 tools saber/multi/expander for pex pipe always been amazed with battery work time///and long life...i was not surprised with your outcome...thx for another job well done...
