I had the same problem with those lead batteries. Changed my boat over to lithium batteries about a year ago and it was the best decision I ever made. No more issues with dead batteries and only charge them about every two or three trips. Interstate use to have the best batteries made but like everything else, started making them cheap and doubled in price. Thanks for sharing your videos with us.🎣🎣🎣🎣
Sir I agree with you about the lithium batteries. I have one lithium for live scope and a 24 volt lithium for my trolling motor. I have been using them for over a year and no problems. I have never pulled them down very much and the 24 volt battery charges fast. Thanks for sharing another day of fishing and info for all of us. Be safe out there.
Hey this is hot shot crappie fishing. Where you get sand worms? Is a live bait or brand name plastic bait? More detail please on bait? Also more info on the gulp swrimp bait size and color?
I’m not fully lithium yet but I’m running my live scope and graph on a lithium and loving it. Fish all day long and battery is still putting out over 12 volts. Hope everything works like you are wanting it to. Enjoyed the video and keep loving life my friend!
Hope your set up works as good as mine. Same issues with interstate batteries not lasting. Went from 5 group 31 down to 4 lithium and a minn kota quest and have yet to get the trolling batteries below 90% even with a full day of spot lock and jogging around chasing the white perch up here in greenwood.
@theoldfisherman2040 that's good to hear. Keep getting out as much as you can and have fun catching them. Your videos have completely changed the way I fish and it was so helpful after moving here. Never heard of white perch before and now it's my favorite to target. I like fishing, but I love catching fish more. Big thanks!
Can you share your live scope settings? Your screen looks very clean and clear I have the lid 34 transducer and the garmin 93 head unit and I’m kinda new to scoping. Thanks
Hey Old Fisherman, Would you recommend a Simrad or Lowrance fish finder paired with a Motor guide trolling motor or a Hummingbird paired with a Minn Kota trolling motor? I see you use the MK/HB combo. Have you tried the others? What made you choose your current setup? What do you like most about your current setup? Also, are you using any of the other advanced trolling motor features other than spot lock on your current setup like circle mode, drift mode, track offset, back track, auto pilot, cruise control, etc?
Next time your in Walmart check out a small swimbait called the ozark trail baby swimmer in the smoked silver flake color. That jig has alot of drawing power, i have had several trips this year where they would hardly touch a 1" gulp but that swimmer caught crappie and bluegill.
Enjoying the videos. I’m in the same boat too. My two 12v interstate batteries are about dead, but I did get almost 3 years out of them. I’ve been researching lithium batteries and here you post a video about lithiums. Good timing. Did you have them ship them to you and you installed them or did you have someone install? I see they are in North Carolina. Also, what pound of thrust is your trolling motor? Thanks for the great videos. Maybe I’ll see you again soon at Monticello.
They shipped the batteries the next day and I got a MINN KOTA On-Board Precision Charger also, talk to Andy Council 919-722-0001 and tell him The Old Fisherman sent you.

They are both gulp baits. They are both new penny in color. If you look at enough of the video I think you will get all your info.

Not yet I have not used any of those features. As far as the fishfinder I like Garmin the best. Next to that I like Lowrance.
NICE Video!!! Where do you get those sandworms from? I have to get those!
Gulp Sandworm 2 inch newpenny , I order from Bass Pro
GTG Thanks!!
Looks like a really good bait for 1/16 oz jighead. Hopefully I'll have similar success as you here at my lake in california.

I have a 80lb thrust and have lots of power.
I used to run all interstate batteries but I’ve been running the oreilys marine batteries and getting 3 years out of em
That's good if it works for you.
I got my epoch batteries 2 days ago. I was so sick of charging my interstate batteries too. Small world old fisherman.
I think they are a good choice.
You really know how to get them
Sometimes I do. Thanks for watching.
Steve I had to help a 3 year old boy bring in his first channel cat this afternoon.
That's good stuff right there my friend.
I'm glad for you. Most of us can't afford those batteries. Hell I can't even afford forward facing sonar.I just do it all old school.
Nothing wrong with old school.
Those interstate batteries are junk. Anything is better, my rural king batteries lasts all day and cheap
Thanks for sharing my friend.
