I'll give you a 7 as a tourguide. I will leave the reconfiguration of the Stemmons ramps alone, and to suggest pointing to the rail yard there is" No place to go. Gets a pass as well. Because you are a gracious host.
A firecracker in 1978. Sounds about right lol.
Yes the knoll is very steep from the fence line. Elm st has more of an incline than most envision as you mentioned.
You see they took down the metal switch box as you went around to the overpass. You walked to the location on the overpass where Tague was standing under. SM Holland and other were to your left. But you know this. Don't know how much time you had. About three blocks away is the YO ranch. Best steaks I have found. Always my watering hole when there. Thanks for the visit. Haven't been down since 2013.

For those of you who think Jim Garrison, the New Orleans District Attorney who was portrayed by Kevin Costner in the movie "JFK," was on to something - you need to read this article by Edward Jay Epstein, one of the first critics of the findings of the Warren Commission. If you want to know just how deranged Jim Garrison was, the best book on the New Orleans trial of Clay Shaw is the book "American Grotesque" by James Kirkwood.

Near the end of this video I discuss the median that divides Main and Elm Street on the west side of the triple underpass. People often ask, "Why did the motorcade make that zig-zag from Main to Houston to Elm Street?" The conspiracy theorists often claim that the motorcade route was changed so that the president's limousine would pass directly past the Texas School Book Depository - which, it seems, is their acknowledgment that shots were, _indeed_, fired from that location. However, if you look at the image in the link below, you can see what the motorcade would have needed to do in order to make the exit onto the Stemmons Freeway. I have marked it in red. You can clearly see the concrete median separating Main from Elm.

      David the motorcade route was never changed;
it did not have to be. It was set on June 5, 1963 when the Texas trip was agreed
upon. And this median that divides Main and Elm Street at this location is the
      reason.
Looking at this sensibly we can comprehend that
any trip to Texas will include a trip to Dallas. A trip to Dallas will include
a motorcade and a speech. Air Force One
will land at Love Field. A motorcade will go down Main Street. In 1963 the
Trade Mart was a brand new 6,500,000 dollar building, and it was nice. This is without doubt where the president will speak. And to get to the Trade Mart from Main the motorcade, thanks to this same median will have to turn onto Elm and go through
      Dealey Plaza.

I am now a retired airline pilot; however, over the years, I have had many layovers in downtown Dallas. I've been to Dealey Plaza countless times. In fact, the hotel we stay at is a short walk from Dealey Plaza. I have encountered Robert Groden numerous times as he is always at the top of the grassy knoll, selling his books and DVDs on the weekend to tourists and passersby. The city of Dallas has always tried to stop Groden. They've confronted him in court EIGHT-TWO times and the city has lost every single case. 82 times!

That's odd that you came to that conclusion because, *by far*, the most common impression people get when they stand near the 6th floor window and look down on Elm Street is how _close_ it is. It appears that it would afford a great opportunity to make relatively easy shots. Even people who are inclined to believe in a conspiracy are usually stunned.

It's still there. That _was_ there in 1963 and certainly was an obstruction between the sniper's perch and the presidential limousine.

If I recall correctly as late as 07 the free standing Stemmons sign was there on the grass. and the metal rr switch box was still over on the corner of the lot and overpass. You mentioned the fence on the knoll as being there for tourists.
The city of Dallas has a love hate relationship with the plaza and tourists. Most who come there are not LN supporters which the city embrasses. Rather, truth seekers. Who bring in lots and lots of money.
If not for the plaza being a national monument The city of Dallas would rather the entire area be re-developed.
You would have been happy yet cold and wet on the 50th. To see how those people who travel to Dallas were treated
If they did not follow the LN line of thinking. People were pretty much hand selected to attend the formal event's.
Non LN's were physically keep out of the area by law enforcement. Some cops of whom refused and said you has an American as a right to be here and be heard come on by.

      @DavidEmerling79  8 лет назад

+NOC1TIME *You mentioned the fence on the knoll as being there for tourists.*
Well, the wooden fence is for tourists in a round-about way. The city of Dallas, over the years, has made a concerted effort to keep Dealey Plaza pretty much the way it was back in 1963. Dealey Plaza's designation as a national historical site didn't come until 1993 (at the urging of Dallas, by the way) - so there was really nothing preventing Dallas from changing things up and putting up a nicer fence in that area instead of that rickety old, unpainted, wooden fence. The fence is an iconic symbol to anybody who holds the belief that there was a "grassy knoll gunman"; lurking back there. Thousands of visitors come to Dallas and walk around Dealey Plaza. The city of Dallas has no intention of discouraging that. They want the plaza to have that look and feel of 1963 - which makes it more alluring. The wooden fence contributes to that look and feel. It's also why you won't see the old Texas School Book Depository get a facelift any time in the near future.

I've been to Dealey Plaza many times over the years - just not recently. A lot of people go there looking for a fight. I do not. I am mindful that some of those in the Plaza are just trying to earn a buck - and they probably _need_ the money. I'm not on any crusade to convince the visitors that there was no conspiracy. In fact, I've never been on any such crusade. I discuss it with those who _want_ to discuss it but I'm not going to jam it down anybody's throat.
I treat you guys differently because we're all reveling in the controversy. The gloves are off here - yet, I still like to be as civil as absolutely possible. Article title: An Old-Line Conservative Weighs in on the JFK Assassination
    www.fff.org/2023/01/13/an-old-line-conservative-weighs-in-on-the-jfk-assassination/
The article states: "Notable about Tyrell’s piece is that it omits any reference to the Assassination Records Review Board, which was in existence in the 1990s. Why is the ARRB important? Because it was the paradigm shifter. With the long-secret evidence it uncovered, it blew the official lone-nut narrative of the assassination out of the water."
The ARRB did nothing of the sort! It didn't blow the lid off anything and it certainly didn't change the most reasoned conclusion about how President Kennedy was killed. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. There was no second or third shooter.
What was the earth-shattering revelation of the Review Board?
The ARRB was mostly important because it mandated that more records be released. Let's remember, had it not been for the movie JFK (directed by Oliver Stone), there would have been no ARRB - which is kind of silly if you think about it. A bunch of Americans watched a movie that was severely flawed; yet, they thought they watched some kind of documentary. They believed it even though the director, himself, called the movie "a counter myth." These people end up writing their congressman and senators. The next thing you know, we have a review board.

    • @fobrien1
      @fobrien1 Год назад

because of the ARRB many records , documents , testimonies that were sealed away and denied to us were then released and made available to us . what did they reveal ? well quite a bit . one thing they did was to releases sealed bethesda testimonies in which witnesses told the hsca that jfk had a large gaping wound in the right rear of the head .
this is important because it means the parkland staff in majority corroborated the parkland staff .and what did we find that the hsca did ? we found that they sealed away these testimonies , and then BLATANTLY LIED and said ALL bethesda witnesses contradicted the parkland staff in regards jfks head wounds .
      and david said the following
"The ARRB did nothing of the sort! It didn't blow the lid off anything and it certainly didn't change the most reasoned conclusion about how President Kennedy was killed. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. There was no second or third shooter. " david emerling
i always say of david that he is an intelligent and when it comes to this case knowledgeable man , yet he has NO PROBLEM AT ALL WITH THIS BLATANT LIE by the hsca . a lie they facilitated by them sealing away any bethesda testimony / statement that contradicted their lie . just the above deception , just the above massive lie alone is PROOF that the hsca sought to ignore and indeed SUPPRESS any truth it did not care , that it had no difficulty at all in deceiving and lying to the people in order so that they could go along with the OFFICIAL version of events . and mr emerling seemingly has no problem with that .
the job of the ARRB was not any lid blowing , not even investigation , however they did take statements from witnesses etc .their job was the release of documents . but it should be noted that all ARRB panel members were staunch warren commission supporters , now i wonder how they came to be picked lol . however to be fair they allowed the release of documents , but made it known that if anything suspect and or indicative of conspiracy were to be found that they did not want to know about it .
" A bunch of Americans watched a movie that was severely flawed; yet, they think thought they watched some kind of documentary. They believed it even though the director, himself, called the movie "a counter myth." These people end up writing their congressman and senators. The next thing you know, we have a review board." david emerling
      "A COUNTER MYTH "
i am glad you wrote the above david . perhaps you would let your fellow lone nutters (who falsely say stone bare faced lied ) many of whom follow you around on your videos , that they are making false claims when they say stone was a liar and that in his movie he lied many times .and that they should cease making such false claims , especially since even you admit that stone always said his movie was a counter myth .
by the way its been a while , i pop in to your videos from time to time . i hope you and yours are well .

@@fobrien1 The gaping rear head wound debate again ... really? 25 Parkland doctors testified to the Warren Commission. I have meticulously gone over all their testimony and all their testimonies falls under one of five categories:
CATEGORY 1 - They didn't see anything because they were not there - or they never got close enough - or never got a good enough view to make any assessment: Dr. Charles Gregory, Dr. Robert Shaw, Dr. George Shires, Dr. Martin White
CATEGORY 2 - They spoke about the wounds in the most general of terms. Not particularly useful testimony as far as specifics are concerned. A lot of them used the word "assume" or admitted that they were just speculating: Dr. Gene Akin, Dr. Fuoad Bashour, Dr. Richard Dulaney, Dr. Jackie Hunt,
CATEGORY 3 - They made gross errors in their testimony. They said things that were categorically wrong. It seemed they were talking out their ass - which drove Arlen Specter (who did most of the questioning) absolutely nuts. One example was this somewhat humorous testimony of Dr. Marion Jenkins.
Arlen Specter: "Did you observe any wounds immediately below the massive loss of skull which you have described?"
Dr. Jenkins: "On the right side?"
      Arlen Specter: "Yes, sir."
Dr. Jenkins: "No - I don't know whether this is right or not, but I thought there was a wound on the left temporal area, right in the hairline and right above the zygomatic process."
[When Specter heard this, he had to be thinking, "What the fuck are you talking about?!"]
Arlen Specter: "The autopsy report discloses no such development, Dr. Jenkins."
Dr. Jenkins: "Well, I was feeling for - I was palpating here for a pulse to see whether the closed chest cardiac massage was effective or not and this probably was some blood that had come from the other point and so I thought there was a wound there also."
[I'm sure Specter wanted to scream out, "You're not here to tell us what you *think* to be true. Just tell us what you observed and what you *know* to be true. Don't speculate! If you don't know, then you don't know - but don't guess!"]
A similar problem came up with Dr. Adolph Giesecke.
Arlen Specter - "What did you observe specifically as to the nature of the cranial wound?"
Dr. Giesecke - "It seemed that from the vertex to the left ear, and from the browline to the occiput on the left-hand side of the head the cranium was entirely missing."
Arlen Specter - "Was that the left-hand side of the head, or the right-hand side of the head?"
Dr. Giesecke - "I would say the left, but this is just my memory of it."
Arlen Specter - "That's your recollection?"
Dr. Giesecke - "Right, like I say, I was there a very short time really."
Again, WTF! The *left* side of the president's head was completely undamaged. The autopsy report, photos and x-rays all verify that. That fact was never in dispute. Most conspiracy theorists would even agree with this.
CATEGORY 4 - They describe the wound but they never describe it as *only* an occipital wound. They use terms like "right parietal occipital area," "right occipital-parietal area," "right occipital-parietal region," "right occipital region," "right temporal area," and "temporal parietal plate," and "right temporal area."
It's important to understand that "temporal and parietal" both mean "on the side." They all say it was on the *right* side, not the left as Drs. Jenkins and Giesecke foolishly said.
CATERGORY 5 - Dr. Charles Baxter is in this category by himself. His testimony is worth reading because of its uncanny accuracy as far as how it relates to the autopsy report:
Dr. Baxter: "... while the closed chest massage was going on, and we had an opportunity to look at his head wound then and saw that the damage was beyond hope, that is, in a word - literally the right side of his head had been blown off."
      and
Dr. Baxter: "This wound was in temporal parietal plate of bone laid outward to the side and there was a large area, oh, I would say 6 by 8 or 10 cm. of lacerated brain oozing from this wound, part of which was on the table and made a rather massive blood loss mixed with it and around it."
      Bingo!
That's what we see in the Zapruder film when we see that large flap of scalp dangling from the right side of Kennedy's head. It's what the autopsy report says. It's what the autopsy photos and x-rays indicate. Not only did Dr. Baxter not "assume" or "guess" - he gave friggin' DIMENSIONS that are actually quite close to the autopsy dimensions of that same wound.
IN CONCLUSION: It's a complete myth that the consensus among the Parkland doctors was that there was this massive wound in the very back of the president's head. I one has to do is to actually read their testimony to understand this!

We argue back and forth with one another so much on this topic and I thought it would be a nice touch to get to know one another on a personal level more. For instance, I don't try to make my life a big secret. I don't use cryptic handles - I don't shy away from using my real name or showing my face - I don't care if people know my email address. I place my cards on the table.
I guess I could use some avatar on RUclips - not my photo. I guess I could use a handle like "demer286". I guess I could refuse to offer any personal information about myself. It's not about being narcissistic. It's about demonstrating how I have nothing to hide in my life.
You're right, I probably do look older than I am. I probably need some Oil of Olay®. Do you have any tips?
What question are you referring to about "Walker"? Are you talking about General Walker? I'm not sure what you're talking about. Ask the question again and I'll answer it.

the angle of the bullets dont seem to jive with going through Kennedy then the same bullet going through front seat passenger. Seems like the driver if anyone would get hit by the same bullet.

    • @DavidEmerling79

That "x" is precisely in the location the presidential limousine was located when Kennedy was fatally shot in the head. That occurred at frame 313 of the Zapruder film which _very_ accurately locates the limousine when it happened. So, the "x" is correct. I'm not sure why you say it's not accurate without explaining _why_ you think that.

Many people do not realize how steep (downhill) Elm Street is. If you go to 4:05 in this video you get a sense of how steep it is. It's a 3-degree slope which, by the way, is the same angle aircraft use to land. Look at the depository from that perspective. See how downhill it is? That greatly assisted Oswald in maintaining his site on the target - making it a much easier shot. As Robert Frazier (FBI firearms expert) said, the target was virtually stationary for Oswald. This largely explains why each subsequent shot (three in total) was better than the previous. The first shot (at the base of the building with the tree branches in the way) was a complete miss. The second shot hit Kennedy high on the back, exited his throat and went through Governor Connally, who was seated in front of Kennedy. The third and final shot hit Kennedy in the back of the head. That bullet fragmented and two large pieces of the bullet hit the _inside_ of the front windshield of the presidential limousine. It cracked the glass and dented the chrome frame. Those two pieces were later discovered on the floor of the limousine. They were large enough for ballistic testing. That bullet was fired from Oswald's rifle to the exclusion of _all_ weapons.

+David Emerling I certainly didn't realize it until I made my first visit there last spring, but it was indeed the *first* thing I noticed. This also gets back to the recent "back and forth" I had with one of your "drop-ins", namely that geometry in 3-D space projected onto a 2-D image (e.g., video, photo, etc.) can mislead those who are not aware of it or trained properly (e.g., the amateur Conspirologists). Among other things, the dimension along the line-of-sight will appear to go up (or North) on the image or photo, and this has the effect of diminishing the viewer's sense of a decline on the street. Good stuff though!

How in the hell do you know what the street angle had to do with anyones shooting success.
I know we like to pick and choose the best of. Related to Fraziers thoughts and comments. Any settling into a near stationary target would come after the Limo made the difficult left onto Elm nearly hitting the curb, then righting the limo into the center lane. I am still not sold on the best shot for a single shooter sniper was from that window
Moving away west on Elm. For that position in the 6th fl window. Likely the most conspicuous place in the plaza.
A shot coming up Houston was the obvious ticket.
Let me ask your opinion. Going along with your LHO scenario. Do you think Lee shot from a standing or seated position
And why. I have always found it funny that anyone would stack boxes as if to hide. Yet people were seeing more than one person in the window standing prior to the shooting. The 6th floor was diversionary shots hey look up here, and the boxes were a mock up like a lot of the evidence with LHO.

+NOC1TIME *How in the hell do you know what the street angle had to do with anyones shooting success.*
... because I got an "A" in geometry! If you're shooting at a moving target from a high perch, and that target is moving downhill, directly away from you, it is much easier to track that target. Essentially, the target becomes "stationary".
*Any settling into a near stationary target would come after the Limo made the difficult left onto Elm nearly hitting the curb,*
... I would say you flunked geometry, or never took a course in dynamics.
The angular rate of change of the target while the limousine was at the base of the building would have been at the _highest_. It would have required the most movement of the rifle to keep the site centered on the target ... not to mention the awkwardly steep downward angle which might have precluded Oswald from keeping the rifle steadied on the box. Plus, he might have been shooting through obstacles - or, at least rushing _before_ the target was obscured by an obstacle. The shot at the base of the building, while the limousine was turning from Houston onto Elm, although the closest point to the sniper's nest, was certainly not the easiest shot. And, the fact that Oswald _missed_ is a testament to that.

      Seated on The Box.
Again how the hell do we know a shooter sat a rifle on a box or boxes?
      Were they kneeling, Seated, Standing?
Are you claiming to know this? Angular Rate Of Horse Shit. I attended all of those classes.

So I understand you are thinking LHO took a shot which made no sense for him to take, what with the rushing obstacles and obscurities and such at the time. This first one, over the left field seats is "testament to that?
A better baseball metaphor for it would be fouled off to the left. Or failing to 'call the ball, for an old Navy Aviator.

Let's face it..... LHO did it.......I have a bookshelf full of conspiracy books anybody can have for free...except for the one I use as a door stop so it doesn't close. And the mark Lane book which has a lot of pages missing because I used them to line my bird cage when Charlie the parakeet was still alive.........

I also have a shelf-full of conspiracy books. Conspiracy theorists do not fully appreciate just how many of these books those of us who do NOT believe in a conspiracy have read. In fact, I bet I could make a more intelligent and compelling case for a conspiracy than THEY could. They are always telling me things as if I'm hearing it for the first time. I've heard it all.

+eddrum100 *I looked at your Facebook page, you idiot. What a family of dorks.*
Really? I have a 31 year old daughter who has a Master's Degree, is married, a 3-yr-old daughter, and due to have a son in April. She is a school teacher and married to a school teacher.
I have a 26 year old daughter who got a full, Division 1 scholarship for women's fastpitch softball (who knew you could get a full ride if you could throw a softball 65 mph underhanded?). She was a scholar athlete and set the school's record for most wins by a pitcher in a season. She's 6 foot tall and is now getting her Master's Degree fully paid as the pitching coach for Murray State University in Kentucky. She got her undergraduate education at Binghamton University in New York.
I have identical twin sons who graduated from the United States Naval Academy and were the first twins in the history of the school to ever be selected to enter the Medical Corps - which is only awarded to 10 out over 1000 graduates. They are now in their third year of medical school - at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington DC and the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, MN. The Navy is paying for 100% of their medical education. drive.google.com/file/d/0B59zyTl2EQl2c25pMUliM3hyOGM/view
I married my high school sweetheart. She is a school teacher. We dated for 7 years and have been married for 36 years.
I think we're doing OK. But thanks for your evaluation.
