I grew up in Pakistan. This reminds me that there was a girl in my school bus (van, actually) with half of her face burned like this when I was in 7th and 8th grade. I don't remember ever talking to her as I was actually scared of her. Everyone was. Never thought about it until watching this video today that she could've been a victim of an acid attack by a coward too. I feel sorry for her now and wish I hadn't been scared to talk to her and treated her like there's nothing scary about her face. I hope wherever she is today, she's doing well.

I agree with you. I'm sick of hypocrisy. Appearance is important. People are attracted by beauty. It's in our nature. The attitude towards people will initially be different depending on their appearance . If she was just completely unattractive by nature, a man wouldn't talk to her at all. He saw her beautiful profile and was attracted by her beauty, then when he saw the burned part of her face, shock and pity took place. All this is natural. After her answer, the man, as I see it, felt a certain respect and was also intrigued - what happened to this girl, what is her story? But initially he paid attention to a beautiful girl next to him.

No matter what the spiritual beliefs one may have no one can deny their is evil and there is good. We must always strive to choose good over evil. In her wish to become an air hostes is something else. Questioning of the beauty ideals.
Acid attacks is common practise in south asian countries as a revenge against disobedience (usually done by males).
In asking him to help her become an air hostes she rattles on the percieved beauty images and ideals established by (in this case) flying companies which are mainly operated and led by male board of directors, staff and whatnots demanding only certain facial and bodily features as employees, thus setting the visual aestethics.
She is smart, educated, perfect for the job - brains before the beauty standards now!
