Well that was much fun, ty for a special! Every working caboose is a wonderful thing to see no matter how they are tasked or restricted to "Do Not Hump" world, still special to see that which was so common..
Monster IM with DPU power in WA,Amtrak dropping the signal, wide loads on depressed center flat cars, NS GE AC44C6M with blue mane,NPR GE ES44AC,nice video VRF!🛤🚂👍
I hope no one was injured in the damaged UP Locomotive pictured at Big Sandy. The Hot Rod at La Grange showed a lot of hard work and effort had been done, but even this could not upstage BNSF SD70MAC in Executive livery at Santa Fe Jct.
I’m thinking the damaged locomotive was from some sort of small incident where something ran into the side of it, because the only spot of damage is that small section. Maybe it happened in a yard where a train ran into it, or maybe even a vehicle such as a car or truck hit it. I hope we can find what the real cause is sometime.
Clips I saw live: Possibly 1:07 - Seems normal to me. What's interesting about this? 13:59 - This was literally an hour and a half ago, a nice surprise too as I only watched this cam specifically for the Coast Starlight and I didn't even know about the NS engine and private cars.
That’s one of Loram’s High Performance Shoulder Ballast Cleaners. It is used for sifting through ballast of which is scooped up in the large retractable bucket wheels (of which can be seen behind the cab). The ballast is taken from the shoulder of the track and is then placed back down after all the foreign materials (such as mud, dirt, etc) have been removed. The foreign material goes off a large swinging conveyor, to move the material far from the tracks. I hope this answers your question well!
Back in the heyday of cabooses, they were never run across a hump anyway. To much chance for damage from the on coming loaded and unloaded freight cars.

Hello, how are you doing?😊
Good work by one of Tucson's camera operators to capture the wondering Siemens Energy consists and the "Do Not Hump" Fracht caboose.
It’s always a good day when there’s a new grab bag.
Thank you, those NKP colors at 13:20 just made my day!
A couple of those 86' boxcars on a big piece of property overlooking a lake would be so nice! 😁👍
But so would winning the lottery!🤔
The perfect post for hump day.
Thank you virtual railfan for featuring me and my family at 12:30 this wouldn’t have been possible without you :D

Nice to see you caught the Chessie System unit!
Re. The smashed UP unit:"A few zip ties, a little duct tape. It'll be fine!"

"Do Not Hump The Caboose"
Clever VRF. You didn't think us youngins would know 😂 10/10
Why not hump the caboose😂
Especially the A-end😮😂...
The 6:10.odd turn has all those potash cars headed north and they passed through Milwaukee 22 hours later. KCdeM + CP span North America
That very long train reminded me of Bob Dylan's song "Slow Train."

What is the story of the damage to UP 1861? I Googled, without luck.

Counted roughly 400 containers on that long Chehalis train.
Love the cabooses
You don't see cabooses on trains very
much anymore these days.🤠👍

Chessie! =)
The train carrying the Siemens Energy car: was it a UP train with BNSF power or an actual BNSF train with trackage/hauling rights?
I’m guessing it’s a BNSF train with trackage rights, but it’s kind of hard to tell.
Nice lookin crummy
