I've never had my car stolen but I've had my car broken into and it's the worst feeling. It's like you were just violated.
My guess is everybody used that jag for their date nights for 3 weeks. My P.O.S car got stolen and I was glad, but hatefully the cops found it and impounded it. So I had to pay for them to free it.

speaking as a guy that has had waaay more than their fair share of tows because I drive older stuff.
The ONLY time tows work out like you think are when you are physically there to watch.
The times I had vehicles towed and I wasn't there EVERY SINGLE TIME something was either stolen or my vehicle damaged in some way and EVERY SINGLE TIME the answer of my complaints was some version of "prove it"

You are a better man than me I couldn't have let that go. Jaguar/Land Rover products are known to be absolute garbage. Sucks no one told ya back then. In general for fancy cars you always lease them which wouldnt make sense for a ballplayer who has to move a lot. Just in general you have had some really tough pills to swallow during your career. Glad you have persevered.

at least your insurance helped out. Somebody ran into me in the parking lot and hit my car and insurance did not help me out at all and of course I had not video of the guy running into me so the police would not do anything... I feel you man people these days are just sad

Hindsight is 20/20, as they say. I think i would have gotten a tricked out F150. But then again, that is the 46 year old me talking. I probably would have done the same thing, except a Saleen or Shelby Mustang. I hate thievery. Nowhere on the same scale, but someone walked into my garage, which was only open for 15 minutes, and stole my $2500 2 stage snowblower. Here in Michigan, that is akin to horse thievery back in the day. 7 years later, it still chaps my hind parts. You seem very forgiving. Good for you. Things have a way to work out. I am sure you have enjoyed much more success and happiness than those scumbag.

I HATE people and companies that won't take responsibility for their screw ups. It is 100% certain they know exactly what happened to you car but they knew if they admitted it they would have to pay you back for the mileage/wear and tear and all your stuff. They probably didn't have insurance in place that would do anything for them and they weren't going to come out of pocket because they are horrible pieces of shit with no morals. I bet you wanted to fly back and beat the shit out of them for doing all that and then lying about it. So frustrating.

Got a question for you...after seeing videos of yours comparing the different levels of minor league play and your own ascent from the MiLB up to the MLB and the trials and tribulations...what do you think of Juan Soto? 19 now 20 year old kid who basically just used each minors level as mere stepping stones on his way to the show where he's obviously excelling. Curious what you think of his play and situation.

That is how it is supposed to go. Players go through each level, like stepping stones, until they get to the show. The problem is they sometimes stall at AA/AAA and stay there. Or, sometimes they don't even make it to AA before quickly realizing they don't have the stuff to make it.
People dont understand until you are taking their money from them OR making them bleed....I would have filed a lawsuit asking for 2x what the property cost & done an investigation to see if it was a pattern of theft & abuse.....Chances are they would have settled out of court for 1/2 and you would have actually been compensated for the loss & aggravation... But thats just me - I dont Play.
