video follows tx 288 the south freeway in houston texas from beltway8 Sam Houston Toll to downtown then to i-45freeway on the northern side of downtown
I hope you can do the 288 through Pasadena and then take 146 to the Fred Hartman bridge to Baytown at night. That is one impressive sight, seeing all the refineries lit up as well as the Hartman bridge itself lit up.
The view of the freeway @4:10 is breathtaking! (Can I use that word..?? its sounds a bit ... well, you know...) The right of way for the freeway leading up to that area is huge as well.. like you say, they'll fit a whole 'nother freeway in the middle! Fantastic views of the City skyline! That same drive would be bloody awesome at night!! Can you do that also???? (please!?)
Another great video that hits close to home, literally (I live in Sugar Land, TX) - used to work for a company just southwest of the 288/610 interchange. Strange thing about 288: heading south just past the Sam Houston Beltway 8 is a sign informing you that the 288 freeway is called the Nolan Ryan Expressway - odd thing is, Nolan was born in Alvin, Texas, and the 288 doesn't go anywhere near Alvin (it's actually on Texas 35 which will eventually be a freeway).
288 is one of the few freeways in Houston that's not a feeder road and provides a relatively good view for drivers (you don't see that many businesses like e.g. ugly strip malls, gigantic parking garages, etc along the freeway unlike feeder roads). The city of Houston would have been much more aesthetically appealing if all those feeder roads hadn't been built...
Hey people from Texas, I Ohio and I gonna be transferring my job to Texas......out of you folks who live what its a more relax atmosphere between San Antonio and Houston? What's a part time thaty you have it all entertainment, express ways but still a relax atmosphere?
@KewlBoy20 actully as far as milage toronto has a small freeway system and network but a large freeway (expressway) running through the city. Canada has always fell behind on freeway networking when compared to the USA. 401 has its wide sections but it is not structured to take one around the city.. Toronto still relies on its side streets for alot of its destinations. Where as Houston and LA can use expressways to access alot more main areas. Don valley is only north to south.
Back to when life was good now they done took down them good high mast lighting for them ugly boxy cut ones and did construction on 288 and the beltway 8
Please excuse last message! Just curious about the best part of town to live where I can have a descent area to relax after a long day of work but also be close to entertainment, expressways and public transit as well?
The Texas Medical District is nothing like the Dallas Skyline. The Dallas Skyline is 10x better than the Houston Skyline. I don't see that many more buildings in the Houston Skyline. Also people say Uptown Houston has its own skyline. I dont think so
Houston sure has a very impressive skyline.
Why am I looking at freeways
Great work, one of your best. Awesome skyline views too, great choice of a route.
Does it get better than this? Great view, great weather, great skyline, great pavement. Way to go Houston!
I like the epic ending of this freeway!!!

Glad to see the weather was nice out for your vid. Keep up the good work.

TX-288 have a toll lanes now and have now interchanges with TX-288/beltway 8 and TX-288/interstate 610

Didn't realize that 288 had that great of a review of downtown. But that's the best in the city imo.
Down at 2:54 there's so much room for a local/express collector lane system. shame it's just plain grass there.
GTA6?
Hope so
truly amazing

You guys are way too excited for the toll lol
I really would have liked to see it at night, props thow
Toronto and LA have just one skyline Houston has 4!!!!
Mihir Panchal actually, LA has 3 now, Downtown, Century City, and West LA (area around 405 and Wilshire)
But Century City and West LA do not compare to Uptown Houston
@@williammaddox3339 Lol! Damn, calm down Mr. "Houston cant be better than LA" looking ass. 😅
