1989-90 is vintage pal, you're literally describing new kids on the block as "current" music? 🤣 It's the shitty side of 80s pop, but it's hardly new. Even Bieber (c 2011) is kind of old to the youth now
More kids around our age need to listen to the Beatles! Kids at my school have no idea what they're missing! I always get really happy when I hear about young fans like me (born in 2000 or later). I'm going to see Ringo this October and I can't be happier!!
I teach reading to my kindergarteners with Beatle songs. All my students know their names and several songs by heart. I use their songs to inspire writing and friendship lessons.
I was blessed to have a boy at the age of 53.I always took him out on drives playing all sorts of music i like.He loves singing with me and asking questions about who are they or is the artist.Hendrix,Zeppelin.Pink Floyd.Bowie ect.On one drive i told him that i wanted to go back when i was a little boy and the music that took my breath away.I played him Beatle hits.I have never seen a reaction like that from him ever.He went absolutely crazy. For the whole trip, the destination, the staying at the destination and the return trip, all he was talking about were the Beatles. That was 2 years ago and till this day he reads up on them, plays their films just looks for anything on them and as he is a Ringo fan,he has taken up drums.I asked why this reaction for the Beatles and not for all the other greats i was playing and his answer was, their music is different and magical, never the same, loves how they look and what they were wearing. He is so mad over them i get worried some times, then you see this little girl and it explains it all. Those four lads were sprinkled with magical dust. They were just so unique and inventive. There will never be another group like them.In 100 years time there will still be 12 year olds discovering them and falling under their spell. You cant really explain it apart from the fact that when those four boys got together, something magical happened. What a lovely spell to be under for your whole life.
I remember sitting on the stairs in our basement in 1964 listening to "I'm so glad, that she's my little girl" - The Beatles have been in my life for a long time.
my 11 year old daughter came to visit me with "new Kids" stuff, and I said "give a listen to the REAL thing" and turned her on to the Beatles. A few days later she said "i'm going to MARRY John Lennon!" I had to say, "Um...Honey....'
I knew someone that was his body guard on numerous occasions. He said Sir Paul was very down to earth and extremely nice to everyone. Nice to know that fame has not spoiled him.

WOW- what a GREAT story!! I can't believe a 12 year old little lady really LOVES the "BEATLES!!" Good 4 her!!! And what a SUPER MOM she has!!! KUDOS to "Paul McCartney" 4 wanting to hold her hand... and doing so!!!
This whole thing is just so sweet. Was so taken by this young girl's good fortune. Was thinking it was a current experience, then I realized it happened (as of now) four years ago. But no matter. It just means she's had four years to savor the experience. As she will for the rest of her life.
Wow. Flashback. That was me when I was 12 in 1976!? And I did my 9th grade history project on the Beatles and got an Honorable Mention at the school fair. Glad to see a young Paul lover!!
Our (adult) daughter loves the Beatles and has some of their music on her playlists. One day she was listening while driving her six year old son to school and was surprised to hear him singing along, word for word, with a Beatles song. Turned out he knew _all_ of the Beatles songs she played. Curiously, not so consistent with other performers.
Your family's story exemplifies the transcendence of The Beatles' music over the generations . It is because of the message buoyed by their good music , that the Beatles' message of peace , love , and understanding will live on forever . Your grandson's desire to sing this message is what gives me hope for this world . Peace and good health to you … Miles .
I became a huge Beatles fan around eighteen years old and am still a huge fan at twenty. Lots of people fell out of love with them over the years and maybe within two years but I will always be here. They’re a fantastic band with such fantastic artists! My favorite being Ringo, I grew up with him Narrating Thomas the Tank Engine along with George Carlin (my favorite comedian nowadays) and Alec Baldwin (one of my favorite actors). When I looked his name up years later I found the Beatles music and listened to some enjoying “We can work it out” for the first time, so I thank Thomas for basically introducing me to the Beatles. Paul would be directly after and he’s such a great guy with most of my favorite performances within the band. R.I.P John and George, their music and performances are legendary as well, gone WAY too soon.
What a lovely thing to happen to a lovely young girl and her mum. This is something your daughter will remember for the rest of her life. Well done mum for helping your daughter to meet a true legend. Mum.... your encouragement paid off. Congratulations all the way from Scotland

Now there's a story to take with you throughout life that will never get too old to be told. There are certain musicians that transcend all the others. Stars like Elvis, Chuck Berry, Zeppelin, MJ will be names music fans will know for generations to come. Paul and his fellow band mates will never need an explanation. Well, really, not *everything* is a reference to John. "I didn't mean to make you cry" is just quite a common phrase, and John didn't even say it like that. He sang "I'm sorry that I made you cry". So, I don't think that Paul thought anything of it at all.
60 years later and the Beatles can still make teenage girls scream and cry.
