I love what you have done with it….and love that seat. I’d only change the “urine sample jar” brake fluid reservoir to something metal/black (actually I like the RE factory one more than this type you have tbh)
Hello, Thanks for the comment, I was thinking a few days ago about changing the reservoir to a black one. I'm just looking for one that is/doesn't look like cheap Chinese junk.
Very interesting to watch…factory with the 650cc, I feel that if you go less than 4000rpm you need to change down gear….keep it between 4k and 6.5K all the time. I notice you have way more torque and down low too! You an easily ride it at lower revs and at 4000rpm your bike is really moving! (Btw I have a 2022 one of these and a 2021 T100)
I would like to test ride a T100. Once i get my full motor cycle license I'll take one for a test ride at a dealer ship. I can ride Dads T120 any time and i do. Dad has given me his T120 once i get my full license then I'm going to have to make a very hard decision as i can't keep both bikes that look/do the same thing. My wife says i only can have two bikes i have three..LOL
Hi Ivan. I like a lot the color of your tank... The metal red is beautiful 😊.. I have a super Météor 650 RE since the end of June... It's a celestial blue... How did you pass from 650cm³ to "850" ? Take care of you and be prudent on the road... Friendly, Pierre, from France
Hi, thank you for the comment. I brought my big bore kit from Revelry Racing in Australia. Hitchcocks in the UK would be the best place for you to have a look. They have a website accessories.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com
Indeed. Rode around the waikato and to Gisborne in 1990 on a Suzuki GS400. That was my parents' bike. I was visiting. Enough bike really for NZ but you always want something a bit bigger and faster ...
My old man has a water cooled T120 Triumph, (A fantastic bike) Going from 0 - 100Kph my 865cc Interceptor will smoke the T120 as the 865cc Interceptor's power band is a lot broader and being lower geared . Above 120Kph the Triumph will pull away. I'm hoping intake mods,a free flow exhaust and an Ecu reflash on the T120 will fix the issue i have with the Triumph. I'm a big fan of Triumph's but I feel they held the T120's back. Also the Interceptor being around 35Kg's lighter its alot more agile around the bends. As far as being reliable the Triumph is the clear winner.
Good day Ivan Back in the day, I had a Norton Commando 850 Mk II, I think it was a 1974 model which I bought a couple of years later. I installed 10.25:1 pistons which, together with the so-called pea shooter exhausts, was quite perky. It was my daily rider and took me all over Europe and always got me back home. I wondered if you have ridden a Norton Commando and, if yes, which model and how you feel it compares to the Royal Enfield 865 with your exhausts?
@PhilipFly11 Hello, I haven't ridden a Norton before. They are a fantastic looking bike, but they are very expensive here in NZ. I would love to get an older bike, but I love to modify motors and that would upset a lot of people. You wouldn't believe but some people got upset with the mods I have done with my Interceptor. I think the latest generation of stock standard Royal Enfields are fantastic bikes for people to learn on or for the older folks, but that's it they lack power in standard form. I don’t mean to to sound rude, but to get my bike to the level where it's at now has cost a ton of money and I'm still going to waste a ton more when a do the 950cc conversation. But it's worth it as it's now a joy to ride.
@@ivananda865ccinterceptor My T100 (2021) is way faster than my 650cc Interceptor….I just have Lextek exhausts and a free flow air filter on my INT650 so it’s faster than factory. My T100 has a decat and that made a huge difference to its power. I would try that also with your dad’s T120.

I put a Yamaha R6 Throttle and grip on my Interceptor, woa to go in one movement, repositioning the hand to go past 80k was a pain, much more responsive, where do you get the parts out of India
For genuine parts i just use E-bay and buy from Indian sites, Check prices and postage's fees as they can differ from seller to seller - Check user feed back as well. Its a lot cheaper to buy from India than here in NZ.
@supercomp7078 How were you able to get the R6 throttle tube to adapt? I tried this as well, based off of some forums for my GT 650 and I couldn’t get the switch housing to close/sear properly over the R6 throttle cam, nor could I give the stock Enfield throttle cable enough slack to accommodate the larger R6 cam. Any insight you have that helped you properly install the R6 throttle tube would be appreciated! Also, the item number for the tube itself 😊 I have a highly modified GT 650 but this is the only upgrade I haven’t done yet due to the issues I had above, so I returned the Yamaha throttle tube.
@fazm1bico The cable came with the kit, However I wouldn't recommend the cable as it's looks to be cheap quality. It does the job, but I'll be upgrading it.

The Only wire control I want for my Throttle has Metal and Plastic around it.
I prefer mechanical throttle, but fly by wire has its advantages.

Real pretty country round there.
Yes, it's very scenic. Most of New Zealand is. We motorcycle riders in NZ are very lucky.

I wonder how this compares to the air cooled Triumph Bonneville T100 865cc. Seems to have near identical specs but your bike sounds so much better!
