We live about 5 miles from there! We drive through nightly to see the eye candy of RVs.

The WC rally is a great Rally. We would like to make it someday. The best thing about the HDT rallies is seeing all the different ways people do things. There are always great ideas, and there are definitely some skilled DIY builders! I especially like going to the rallies because I learn something new each time. Enjoyed the video! Thanks for continuing to make them - I know how much work it is....

I recently discovered and subscribed to your channel and have been watching your videos...a bit backwards...from newest to oldest. I just watched the 2022 West Coast HDT Rally held in Caldwell, Idaho. I live only 20 miles from Caldwell and had I known it was being held there last fall I would have come by to see all these beautifully set up rigs. You have done such a nice job of outfitting yours and having a place for everything and everything in it's place. Many great ideas! My husband and I have a 2006 Renegade Classic motorcoach on a Freightliner Columbia but do not travel across the USA in it. He's a farmer and can't get away during the spring, summer and fall. I mostly take it camping and racing at Firebird Raceway in Eagle, ID. So not very many miles get put on it each year. I travel the nation vicariously thru your channel! 😉 Thanks for the interesting and informative videos! Enjoy your travels. 🙂 Margaret

I really like your channel! Wish you would have started RUclips back when you started. I know I would like to have a tour of your truck and all about it. What did you have when you pulled your DRV, why did you go this route. Of course a full tour and build of Orion all the whys and understanding of your rig. Your back grounds what did you do before you retired, why this life. I just have so many questions and I know others do too. We live vicariously through you. Simply put I would love to see everything from A to Z and why … please.

I also have plans to do some "flashbacks" of previous trips before we started the channel. We've had a full travel schedule the past 7 years... no plans to ease off now!

We just bought our first semi. With in three years we will have are fifth wheel and we will be joining you on the road.

That's fantastic! You are smart to do begin your journey in phases. It can be overwhelming with all the options out there! We were not truck drivers before and are grateful we got the truck before the trailer to get us experience driving the truck and getting used to it before adding the trailer. We have a 60gl fresh tank AND a 60gl waste tank under the bed of the truck. I think I believe VLog "Plan Q" we have us using Voyager to dump and fill Orion in Quartzsite. When we do our 4 part Tour series we will show where everything is at in more detail.

Love the different bed designs. Starting out with a basic flat bed and adding to it. Planning on putting a 15,000 watt generator under one side of the bed. 35 gallon manifold propane tank to run the genie since it will be dual fuel. Also can tap into it for boondocking. Love the kayaks in the one above his pickup.
Just coming up with more ideas to get storage room.

Why do I never see anyone use a day cab to haul their camper. Is it because it’s easier to tag a semi with a sleeper cab? Thanks!
Hey Tayler, a few have done a day cab but the main reason is there is more room in the condo cab and the ride is better than a day cab. The day cab maneuverability blows away a normal pickup truck and we have friends who did a day cab but they don't fulltime. But it is maneuverable! Thanks for the comment. Have a great weekend.
Is there any East Coast hdt rallys??
There used to be but it was discontinued in 2022. There is a National HDT Rally in October in Hutchinson, Ks. That rally has a ton of info. It's like drinking from a fire hose! 😯🤔😂
HDT need a special license?
Hey Barb, it really depends on your state. Since it's a private, not for hire registration most states don't require a CDL. Texas requires a Class A non-commercial endorsement but a few, like South Dakota, TN and Georgia have no special requirements. Thanks for the comments and appreciate your time watching the channel.

Garry, in Texas you need a Class A non-commercial endorsement on your license since it's titled as a private truck.

@@bigtruckbigtravels evening. (Heavy Goods Vehicle ). Most trucks are 8ft wide in the UK I think the RV is 8ft 5 wide 30ft long so not to bad .
Iv had RVs before but some parks don’t mind RVs and some think they take up to much room .
@garryhealey1757 ok. Some RV parks in the US don't like semi-trucks even if they are towing a camper fifth wheel but the vast majority are ok with it. Definitely more of a novelty. Thanks for the clarification on HGV.
