Thats good record you received the bag in 30 minutes it was my bad when i book by kuwait airways from LHR i was waiting for my bags more than 2:30 hours 😂😂 i had a back pain coz of standing and waiting 😅
Flew with my wife in March from LGW to PFS and return in Club Europe for our 50th Wedding Anniversary and it was awful. Only food option outbound that was left was a cold chicken salad and inbound all that was left was the vegan option. Really not acceptable for a premium service. The Gatwick lounge was very good, and having flown from Basle, I have to say the lounge is fantastic with great seating, food options and aircraft/runway views.
Definitely a premium service and meal served onboard both sectors, compared, to the Airport experience. I have not flown Club Europe for years but I think it's time to splash out and try it! Great tip to try T5B Lounge but might. you know if you can walk or train back if the flight departs from T5A? The Basel Lounge looked very comfortable, thanks for sharing!!🥂
I enjoyed the video. I could hear you clearly throughout. I am a silver member of the executive club. Therefore, regardless of of travelling in economy or business class, I get free seat selection, priority check-in, fast track security, lounge access and priority boarding. It’s not really worth the difference in price. The only perks I get are an empty seat next to me and the included food and drink. However, I still generally travel business class on domestic flights. My wife calls me a snob for this. 😅 I agree the toilets in the Heathrow lounges need to be changed. They are old, outdated and always seem to have queues. The toilets on board are exactly the same on first class long haul flights. Basic but they serve their purpose. There are standard UK power sockets on domestic flights between the seats in front of you but I’m not sure how many rows they extend to. I’ve often found them unserviceable. I have booked a domestic flight for £1 and 30,000 Avios points before but I think these are better spent on upgrading from Premium Economy to Business class on long haul flights.
I used Avios for a trip to Madrid last year. It's 100% worth it if you are collecting through everyday spend using a BA Amex card and their eStore, and not difficult to collect the required AVIOS. The Iberia Dali lounge in Madrid is very nice and BA Business Class passengers have access. I would NOT buy the tickets with cash though, they do cost a lot of money.
I agree, paying cash isn't as good value as using Avios, unless you get a really good deal. The best value for your Avios is on long-haul flights, however, but this is a good second choice.
@@TravelSoGood 100%, long haul business class is a different level. But when you can fly business class in Europe and it's cheaper than Ryanair/Easyjet it's a no brainer. I just renewed my house and car insurance through the AVIOS eStore and netted myself 5,000 easy AVIOS for what is essential spending, so might as well take advantage of the system when I can.
Only paying 50p is the worst way of utilising your avios. The conversion rate is awful. To find the best Redemption. From the options offered Calculating 1 avios @ 1p Simply add the avios and cash together. This will give you the best conversion. BA hoodwink you into thinking you've only paid 50p In reality, you've paid more by using more avios at a very bad rate
Since I filmed this, BA have changed the way redemptions work. But obviously the best use is for long-haul business or first class flights, but European Reward Flights flights are the second best option. For example, the cheapest Heathrow to Düsseldorf business class flight I can find is £186 one way. That same flight using Reward Flights is currently 15,000 Avios plus £12.50. Assuming 1p per Avios, that's £162.50 equivalent. So it's a saving on the cash cost
Ba heavily advertised the nominal amounts to pay. You have to click the "more options" to find out the other options. Best use long haul is Iberia. If you're wanting the 🇺🇸 or south America. Only downfall is 2 x 23kg cases. I bagged using amex companion voucher. 2x MAD to SJU business class. 64,000 avios £364 taxes.
Can you answer a question, I will be travelling Club Europe London To Glasgow after flying in from San Diego in premium economy, do I get to use the lounge with the club europe portion of my ticket.
You will get Lounge access in London because you have purchased a Business class seat for the domestic leg. Any other airport depends on your BA Exec Club status ie are you silver and above.

Heathrow is better than Gatwick in all respects
Another great video. You and Fran are such a cute couple too :)

I'm not sure, but I think lounge access is only given if you have a business class or first class ticket, so premium economy won't give you access

Thanks for answering my question.@@northbankgooner6126
