    That food looks fantastic - perhaps the best on a UK mainline train! It shows they can produce something decent in those kitchens which means they “could” offer an LNER style hot food service to all FC passengers on all routes if they wanted to. 🤔

    A very good video: from Australia, in two consecutive Septembers I've been on those IET or other GWR trainsets but not at Pullman Dining times.
    Well done and thank you for promoting rail travel. Superior to using one's car and way better than cramped, uncomfortable road coaches.
    Today I know of people using this PD experience so it'll be interesting to obtain their feedback.
    Very good that you pointed out the cost has increased. However £37 for two courses is still good value in the UK for this type of quite upmarket experience.

    Great review, looked like you really enjoyed yourself. I did this just 3 weeks ago from London to Plymouth and it was excellent! I am tempted to do the whole thing again! They used to do a breakfast service pre-covid, which I managed to do in 2018 and that was excellent, really wish they would bring that option back.

    Sadly standard or ysual catering is just the trolley. If the sandwiches run out there's very little till a change of trolleys.

    GWR should do a service from Hull via Leeds and Manchester Victoria to Holyhead, as the current SailRail product offering needs a massive overhaul - they should also be working with ferry operators to do foot passenger only SailRail services from Liverpool (not Birkenhead) to Dublin, as an improved standard of service across the Irish Sea is much needed - I live in Manchester myself and I’ve been going home to family in Ireland on SailRail via Holyhead for 23 years of which the Irish Ferries Ulysses is my favourite ferry (especially the Club Class Lounge) but what drives me mad is changing trains at Chester, Crewe & Lladnuo on Transport for Wales, which trains do not call at Deansgate/Castlefield (for the Metrolink Trams) and where Platforms 13 and 14 at Manchester Piccadilly is totally unsuitable

    Did the hostess say she had just sold the last coq au vin and yet there were only five people eating? Even if this accounts for an incoming or other/s services that appears poor organisation.

    • @TravelSoGood
      @TravelSoGood  5 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah. I'm assuming it was because they were expecting a low turnout. I didn't include it in the video, but the hostess told me that only two people had pre-booked (me and one other) plus three walk-ups. So I guess it's better to under catering than to waste food 🤷‍♀️
