- Air dash into overheads and extend into combos - Use assists to extend pressure - Mix assist extensions with overheads and dragon rushes - L, cancel, overhead is an easy mixup - Hit confirm into safe or combo extension accordingly - Use LL for hit confirms - Be aware that LL scales damage more - Bait opponent into blocking with deliberately wiffed attack and immediately follow with dragon rush Easier said than done. I’ll likely just panic and spam L auto combo.
Ruly Tasho thanks. I am glad you feel it is a helpful tool for learning. The more people we can bring into the scene the better. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I'm a semi hardcore player and I learned couple of new things here too. I believe that top players reach the top because they are humble enough to admit that even they don't know everything and I'll have to take a page out of that book.
personally i find it way easier to instant air dash by pressing jump+forward at the same time, then immediately pres just forward. especially because it works both ways (back+jump followed by just back) for instant back dash if your'e on the defensive.
If you do this combo it will help -> if you do the basic anti air combo with no double jump, also the double jump extension works to just have to time it right, then you do the 2nd anti air down heavy into light medium down heavy, Light medium ,then your chosen character will whiff up because of how arc systems work, which will set you up for a full damn combo. Now I’m just figuring out how to time the lvl 1 and lvl 3 assist after a hit confirmed or a combo.
If you play A18, can you create a guide on key strategy of her gameplan and maybe some mixup concepts/oki that you use? No one really has yet. Thanks, keep up the good work.
Ive watched a lot of these videos on this game and while theyre well made and decently explained, I have a lot of trouble actually applying them to real games. And by a lot of trouble, I mean I panic and end up just doing auto combos in every single match, completely forgetting every manual combo I’ve learned in practice. Problem is, Im at 250k in ranked and im at the point where every person I play against is light years better than me, they look like pro players in comparison to me and i just have no idea how to get past this wall right now..
Chris Andreev I have the sure fire solution!! I have had this issue in the past. Muscle memory is key. Basically go to practice mode and input the combos both on block and on hit hundreds if not thousands of times. Just keep repeating them until you can do it without thinking. Take 30 mins a day and just repeat, repeat, repeat. That is the only way to really implement combos and inputs into an actual gameplan. The more you engrain these movement patterns into your nervous system the easier it will be to just react. Hope that helps. Any more questions just let me know!
Supreme Kai player here! Most of your frame traps are going yo be manual edits to your combo. Change your attack patterns! Slip the overhead in an attack early, or attack later. Your " special" button is also a really nice tool for combo extension and surprise finishes( follow with adult gohan qcbL, goku qcfL, etc.). What makes this game so cool is the ability to create your own frame traps by making minute edits to your combos. Hope this helps.
there are a couple of natural frame traps as well in addition to what zeokenx and james perry said already. some characters do not have true block strings like ginyu. if you do 5L 2L 5M 2M 5H with ginyu as a hit confirm, there is a gap between the 5L and 2L on block, and another gap on block between 2M and 5H. these gaps are so tiny that you will counter hit your opponent if they go for any non-invincible/non-reflect move. not many people will press buttons during this string though, unless you start adding delays/staggers to your string to make them press buttons when you want them to. you can even just stop early and reset your string after say the 2M to get the same results. you really have to go into training mode and record the dummy doing strings to you and test yourself if there are any holes or frame traps in your strings that you can take advantage of.
That's not what I mean. I mean wake-up attacks like queuing up a special (any special, doesn't have to be protected) while you're on the ground (or falling from sky), so they do the special immediately when they get up and it has always priority (especially with meter) over whatever the enemy does. Similar to how down heavy always has priority over dashes and specials normally. Guilty Gear, Injustice, MK have this mechanic too.
the only true wakeups are what gaming mentioned, vegeta's and teen gohan's 214M/H, adult gohan's 236M/H, and everyone's lv3. go nuts on a knocked down opponent most of the time
Thanks. DBZ just never really stuck with me. It was fun for a short time but just not my thing. I may be expanding into other titles as well in the future though. I just began playing Tekken 7 and that has been fun. I may begin going back to some retro titles also. Thanks for watching too btw!!
I’m so fucking shit at this game I always try casual and haven’t won and always get paired up with people who’ve won over 100 fucking ranked matches and get my fucking tight little ass fucked bloody
Rad's Ark Server for PS4 USA lol the match making isn't the greatest in this game. That is for sure. I get matched with lower level players a lot. I would suggest going into practice mode and practicing combos over and over until it becomes muscle memory. Also find ways to get in without using super dash and practice D+heavy attacking super dashing opponents. Those small things will go a long way. Hope that helps
Anthony Ginczycki honest what 7000 damage combo do you know of? 70% is a gross exaggeration considering this guy does a big combo into his lvl 3 and only gets 4k damage or 40%
Terrence Brooks if u already use one super dash then you can't use another in the same combo chain. It's best to light light low medium medium jump light light down heavy and then press heavy to chase
- Air dash into overheads and extend into combos
- Use assists to extend pressure
- Mix assist extensions with overheads and dragon rushes
- L, cancel, overhead is an easy mixup
- Hit confirm into safe or combo extension accordingly
- Use LL for hit confirms
- Be aware that LL scales damage more
- Bait opponent into blocking with deliberately wiffed attack and immediately follow with dragon rush
Easier said than done. I’ll likely just panic and spam L auto combo.
Little by little, you got this :)
The most useful tutorial for beginners i found on yt so far, thx man! It helped me so much! Keep it up!
Awesome! Thanks. I am glad it helped!
When did Seth Rogen start playing this game?
anthonyboy I was thinking the same thing lmaoo
please please please, turn on the button inputs.
YES PLEASE
If you're a casual that wanna get into fighting games this video is really useful...
Ruly Tasho thanks. I am glad you feel it is a helpful tool for learning. The more people we can bring into the scene the better. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thanks dude for teaching the 6:27 works so well with base vegeta

Thank you very much for this video!!
No problem. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it!
Thanks. I practiced hours of combos, but my neutral game is trash. Maybe now I’ll get hit confirms more often.
You can IAD and do ML on block to do double overhead or MLL on big bodies.
wow im shocked to how good this was! good video
This is fantastic advice. Thanks!
Dope concepts! maybe make a video on defense next?
Fundamentals _ I
open up the enemy is really my problem in this game but this video definetly helped
Awesome. I am glad it helped!
Nice video! Pressure game above 9000.
Solid tips. Thanks bro
Subscribed because you play the same team as me lol.
haha awesome. Thanks!!
Thank you I never new forward medium was an overhead. I thought you had to jump medium
Characters who use disc type moves, (#18, Frieza, Krillin) do substantially more chip damage then any other type of move in the game.
i like how you talk very educational xD
Good tutorial
Good Stuff My Friend
Thanks!
Only thing I learned was you can instant air dash with super dash button whilst holding forward
If you play A18, can you create a guide on key strategy of her gameplan and maybe some mixup concepts/oki that you use? No one really has yet. Thanks, keep up the good work.
I don't know if I know her enough to make one but I can look into it

Thanks will do!
This is very helpful.
Thx man.Video was helpful
Awesome. Thanks. Glad it helped.
Great video
Thanks man!!
4:32 How are u doing the overhead from standing position like that?
Spkill246 Forward and Medium attack together
Thanks for the instant air dash...that's all I needed but why so many auto combos?
So is it wrong to push people into corners and pressure them?
Nah. That's the object of the game lol
LOL, I got a PMD from a dude and he said to put me in a corner
Keep up the great work my dude hope we can play sometime again
Modest Wharf24 thanks! Most definitely
Im having trouble knowing when to attack back cand yo help me?
Am I the only one who's been doing the instant air dash without the super dash button...wtf the super dash button makes it so much easier
Good tutorial. Is there any "frame traps" in this game ? Because its hard to open the opponent who know you are going to cross up or overhead.
Supreme Kai player here! Most of your frame traps are going yo be manual edits to your combo. Change your attack patterns! Slip the overhead in an attack early, or attack later. Worthless
Is the jump in double overhead universal to all characters
I haven't tested it with all characters but I know most can do it for sure
This game does have wake-up attacks right? Because in that case the last tip might not be a good idea.
InVader some characters have invincible moves. All level 3s I believe are also.
InVader Nope no wakeups that's why getting knockedown is so crippling the exception being frieza and his level 3 on the ground.
thanks fam.

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT. Instant dash CAN be done with Forward+Super Dash?? What the fucking fuck I've been doing it manually since release
royox lol yeah it can. Manually? You are too savage haha. Things just got easier for you now! Glad you learned something. Thanks for watching!!
Great vid, big fan of your channel but why dont you play this game anymore mk is becoming boring
Thanks. DBZ just never really stuck with me. It was fun for a short time but just not my thing. I may be expanding into other titles as well in the future though. I just began playing Tekken 7 and that has been fun. I may begin going back to some retro titles also. Thanks for watching too btw!!

This game has some of the shittiest defense
I disagree.
maybe the shittiest recovery. One move can turn into 70 percent damage with no interruptions. KINDA BS.
Facts
Anthony Ginczycki yeah but u can switch out and recover like half of that health
Anthony Ginczycki honest what 7000 damage combo do you know of? 70% is a gross exaggeration considering this guy does a big combo into his lvl 3 and only gets 4k damage or 40%
My son is the mash king lol there is no way I'm beating him
First
Just Super-Dash. 60% of the time, it works all the time!!
Why can't I chase after I hit them up at the end of my combo in the air?
Terrence Brooks if u already use one super dash then you can't use another in the same combo chain. It's best to light light low medium medium jump light light down heavy and then press heavy to chase
Great video
Thanks. Glad it helped
