Man, you're killing me today. ;-) . My wallet has gone into hiding. I have been looking at Prima Luna 35 watt EL-34 amps for a desk system. Another option is the AES Hercules and lastly AVA. The AES appears to be very solidly engineered and overbuilt. I'm just concerned with the R- Core transformers. I am very convinced that Transformers CAN make a huge sonic difference (from auditioning and from swapping them in DIY amps. More air, and 3D depth, for one thing but, of course, who knows the circuit variables.). Have no experience with R-Cores. I admit to loving lush sound, especially EL-34s. I hate my area as there is nobody with high end electronics. Impossible to audition anything new.
