Silly me, I love your happy, smiling attitude. The videos are very instructive and well produced. Camera angles and lighting are spot on and the explanations are straight forward. Thanks.

Yes my first experience with the cupped cutter was devastating to say the least. Learning the proper technique I am now in love!

I've been turning with conventional tools for years. I recently bought a cupped carbide shear scraper just to see what the carbide experience is all about. Ehhh... certainly unlike conventional tools. But I'll get there! Thanks for the video!

Hi Tracy it was great to see a young lady working with her hands on a wood turning lathe.I think you come from round the other side of the world by your voice. I'm an English guy living in France I'm retired and I've just started getting some turning tools together , as much of my tools and machinery it's a major window door making a specialist furniture. As this was my trade when I was back in the Uk.
You are a pretty young lady, I am concerned you're not wearing a face mask or something to protect your lungs or something protect your eyes as these you only have once,
I have just ordered a carbide tipped to I do have a few other tools but I thought I'd give this ago.
As we are still in lockdown not able to go out very far to buy tools, I've been looking on RUclips and found some people making hook tools, have you ever seen or use them as about five weeks ago I made one by Heating A piece of tool steel and bending it into a hook and then bolt on it to a steel shaft
And a wooded handle , you use this in a twisting action , The shape of it is similar to what a couple of tips and some respect that you are using, anyway that's enough of me ramping on , keep up the great work and stay safe, I loved watching your video Great job.

Hi Tracey, many thanks for this very clear instructional video! Still I have one question please. Is the tool also meant for end grain, for instance when turning an end grain vase?

    You are a great teacher.
And you do some beautiful work.
What speed range do you use when using carbide cutters? Thank you
