Hi Cam. This was the first video I have seen from you and it was solid. I am a big fan of comparison videos and I like your approach to a topic and presenting the details for how each lock did within the topic. Better still, even with your strong preference for the Schlage lock, you had no problem presenting a good argument for the Level Lock.
I like the Schlage but I just could not add a second home key. The Schlage would never go into pairing mode once it was paired up. I had to get a HomePod to be a hub to share my home to give others a home key.
Bought the Aqara U100 and I regret it. HomeKey frequently fails and battery life is abysmal. Looking to replace it with the Schlage so thanks for your video.
I loved my Level Lock Plus at first…until it stopped working reliably. About 1 out of every 30 times it fails to work completely and I have to use the key. Which is pretty good, but not when you lock and unlock your door 2-6 times per door. The lock is frequently unresponsive in the Home app. I have the sound turned “off” in the Level lock app, but every maybe 6th time I use it it chimes. Not the biggest deal, but it annoys me, I have it set to silent so it doesn’t disturb the people in my home. Overall, I wish I could recommend it, but I just can’t.
“I wish I could recommend it, but I just can’t” is a good summary of how I feel when compared to the Encode. Just on the sleekness alone, I was definitely rooting for the Level to come out on top. Although, my lock seems to work a bit better than yours.
Is it possible to program a keypad code for a user remotely? Ie., can I be at my residence and from there program a temporary code on the lock at my cabin?
Is it an Apple Watch? If it's an Apple Watch, it'll work automatically as long as she's in your iCloud family. If it's not an Apple Watch, it won't work.

Thanks Doc!
Great review
Cool, that was a detailed insightful info. My obvious choice is the Encode now. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Great video.I also seen that the much nicer-looking and aesthetically level lock is very easy to pick unfortunately .
Dude you’re an attractive human! Thanks for the comparison. Needed this
Nice, would you try newer Aqara U100?
I think I might! Looks intriguing.

Now that the Yale Assure 2 Plus is out with Homekey, which one would you go with, the Yale or the Schlage?
Thanks for the videos!
Yale Assue 2 Plus seems like a no-brainer to me! But I haven't tested it to say for sure.
Not a fan of smart locks with no key option. How do you open it if the battery dies?
Great comparison, thanks Cam!

I want to try the Aqara just to try it but it’s hard to see a world where it can compete with the Encode.

Random question- I'm looking for a good T shirt, can you recommend? (what are you wearing)

Yes! (Assuming you have access to the internet at your cabin.)
My daughter has a 2-year-old iPhone and a brand new smartwatch is that all I need to make this work with the watch or do I need extra equipment

Can all users in the house hold use there phone to open the door with the app?
Yes
Contrary to previous assertions, Schlage Encode Pluswill not be supporting Matter according to Verge.
I missed that update! But you're right. I don't think it matters though.
@@camsecore *rimshot* 😁
Love level lock , it is a smart and simple way, but not their price
Which one do you own?
@@camsecore Just order the Aqara new deadbolt lock
@@kinseycreategoods Oh, so you're saying you just like the idea of Level. Got it. What made you go with the Aqara?
level lock = hot garbage. Thankfully we always have a key, because this thing is not reliable and customer service is just email tag.
